Great food, cool atmosphere near the High Line
We found this place after checking out the High Line-- and had a wonderful time. We were lucky to grab the last two seats at the bar for brunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere was friendly, the music was really good and the food was excellent. I was even persuaded to give the beet-based Bloody Mary a try by the bartender (who I later learned was the owner). He was nice enough to give us a donut for 'dessert' on the house! A chocolate coconut creation that tastes like what would happen if the Samoa was a donut.. amazing! We also learned they're opening a second location soon, and I'll be sure to check that one out.

The food was great. We all ordered something different and all of us were happy with what we received. They have a good amount of outside dining and inside dining. The server was very friendly. We were not comfortable with the fact that he wasn’t wearing a mask, and we asked if he wouldn’t mind wearing one and he happily went to get a mask.

Stumbled upon this restaurant on the search for drinks and I wasn't disappointed. The friendly service staff made me a mezcal drink called one way to oaxaca. It made me feel I was actually there! I also ordered an extraordinary beef tartare which blew my mind away. Cant recommend this place in East Village enough!

Have to admit that this was not our 1st choice when visiting the High Line.Bubby's was our preferred choice.Being such a cold day, outside seating was not an option, and inside was packed.U had read about Wild Son ,so we went there.Really nice place, small and cute Food and coffee were delicious.Servers could be a little more alert. Not easy to get attention.Would go again
Be the first to ReplyCozy Brunch Spot in Meatpacking
Wild Son is a cozy spot on a side street in Meatpacking. The place is small so don't be surprised if there is a wait during prime weekend brunch time. The menu has a nice selection and overall decor is inviting. Brunch standards, interesting salads and sandwiches are what I've had, but there is a separate dinner menu, as well. Cocktails looked fresh and it's a place I would come back to just to sit at the bar. However, service is the one thing that lacks. Food service at a table was attentive and kind. Food service at the bar was been aloof and cold.

We had the egg sandwich and a chicken sandwich. The chicken was cold because they screwed up our order (the tables are over-packed, and they were having trouble keeping up).

Girls trip to New York and we wanted a fun place to eat and drink after our visit to the museum. This place was rated highly and right around the corner so it was perfect and didn't disappoint. We saw a line out front but not too worry the patron who was infront of us said, "the guy is good he'll find you a table in a few minutes." Sure enough the owner popped his head out the door, smiled and greeted us and soon we had a cozy spot by the kitchen. The atmosphere is lively and the breakfast appropriate alcoholic beverages are the perfect blend of juice and booze. The wild son who is the owner and the wait staff, all rolled up in one, could not have been more helpful and took down my honey allergy which turned out to be pretty significant as I avoided getting granola (honey as an ingredient) in my pancakes because of him. Thanks for the catch and for the excellent meal. It was the perfect end to our New York adventure.
