Stars Chatham Reviews from The Last Year
mixed
The traditional new england style of the room is bright, clean and warm. The view of the sand bars is soothing, unique and impressive. The menu is tightly curated but has something for everyone and the portions are surprisingly massive; not at all the dainty bites you might expect. While beautifully presented, the food is under seasoned and poorly cooked. The lobster was chewy and drowning in a sweet tomato jam, the latke turned to mush by the avocado spread and the crab is not fresh tasting. The english muffin seemed to be beautifully homemade but was also under seasoned and mushy under the oddly saucy lobster. The eggs, whether poached or scrambled were cooked perfectly to order but similarly under seasoned. The cocktails are inconsistent and very weak but the service is charming and flawless.
Dinner
Great restaurant at the Chatham House inn. Food was awesome & well prepared. Service was great. Nice Wine/Drink list. Will return
We had the most amazing dining experience at STARS! Jon D
We had the most amazing dining experience at STARS! Jon D was our server, and he gave us the best recommendations. If the menu hasn't changed, highly recommend the burrata and the scallops. Ali P was amazing and made us feel so welcomed and celebrated as we were celebrating our engagement! The dirty martini was perfect, the foods quality was 10/10, and the service and ambiance was world class. Will absolutely be back! Update! We went back for breakfast and my goodness was the breakfast buffet next level. Nina was our waitress and she was so kind and attentive. I'd say she was our favorite person we encountered the whole weekend! Thank you Stars for phenomenal service!
An Amazing Dining EXPERIENCE
We had an amazing dining Experience at STARS at CBI this past Saturday. That’s what I would call it rather than a great “dinner”. We fortunately have several wonderful restaurants in town that continually provide great meals, but this was a step above which is why I call it a dining Experience. It was similar to the wonderful gastronomic adventures we’ve recently enjoyed in both Eastern France and Italy. It all started with Ali greeting us so warmly, Paul being very attentive, and Sarah, our server, was just perfect. Ali sat us at a wonderful table by the window so we could enjoy the beautiful, festive lights. We thoroughly enjoyed perfectly crafted cocktails to start: Belvedere Cosmopolitans for me and my husband, a Tanqueray G&T (unfortunately the do not carry 10, but it was still wonderful!), and we were all very impressed with the selection of alcohol-removed wines available by the glass & bottle. Paul was very helpful, checking in several times, offering assistance with our choice of wine to accompany our meals. As a Certified Level One Sommelier myself, I appreciated his informative recommendations. We enjoyed one of my favorite varietals, a lovely Chateauneuf-Du-Pape AOC. I must say though, Sarah was the STAR of the night. She was personable, witty, informative, and always right on time with every step. Then there was the food. Wow. The menu was recently created and released and it is one you should not waste any time enjoying. It was all just so delicious. We had and loved every bite of our meals. For our Starters, it is difficult to say which was the best! We enjoyed every bite of the daily crudo preparation, which was a delicious tuna; the Duck Fat Parker House rolls with duck rillette; as well as some amazing Tagliatelle with white truffles (which was another daily preparation). The chef came out, compliments from Ms. Decker, with a heaping helping of fresh shaved truffles table side, that really just put the pasta over the top. Simply delicious! Frankly, some of the best pasta we have had since Positano. We thoroughly enjoyed each of our Entrees as well. I had the Butter Basted Halibut which was prepared perfectly and dressed in the perfect amount of delectable mushroom consomme. Accompanied by Eastham Turnip and sea vegetables, it was amazing. My husband and our two friends loved the Juniper Spiced Venison which was so tasty and looked beautiful on the plate, but the flavors were the stars. The venison is joined by winter squash, and mushroom over cappelletti pasta. Savory delicious flavor combinations. Then there were the beautiful desserts! We shared and enjoyed both the S’mores plate with Knob Creek Bourbon caramel, Madagascar single domain chocolate & smoked meringue; as well as the Grilled Lemon Pound Cake, with ginger lemon curd, poppy seed meringue, cranberry gastrique and cardamom crumble. Both were delectable! Sorry no photos, didn’t think to take them as we just enjoyed the beautiful and festive atmosphere. I highly recommend you (re)visit to celebrate any special occasion or any given day! It really was an all-around wonderful experience. Congratulations on the great team and those 5-stars are well deserved!

Not so special
We were disappointed, and expected more. The food was just ok. The service was good. The kitchen should have a better pickled recipe for their fennel and corn sides. It tasted like pure vinegar. They were flooded. It ruined our meal. Everything else was just ok.
Nice place ... the food, not so much
It is a pretty space. Lots of attractive rich folk at the other tables. Perhaps folk with more dollars than sense, at least respecting food. Of the four of us, no one had any more than "It was OK" to say. The desserts were especially bland, bready and disappointing. I had skate schnitzel. I know, likely a mistake from the name, but i was curious. Do you know the feeling when, next day, you think back on what you ate last night and suddenly ... wish you hadn't? I'll leave it at that.
Not so special...
Not as special as it used to be. The tables were plainly set with tiny votives and nothing else. It was too crowded and very loud. I heard the manager say they were letting in other diners from the other restaurants. Kids were running around and they sat our party of two next to a huge loud party. The Entree choices were odd and limited and one was BBQ tofu was terrible and the Scallops just average. We had salads that were average, which meant the best thing was the Smores desert. Service was very slow, they seemed overwhelmed.
Service was as always very attentive, the location was
Service was as always very attentive, the location was awesome, corn on the scallops tasted raw....flavors seemed a bit bitter...
Decent.
Wait staff was unprofessional, food was good but overpriced. Ambiance was nice but any big party goes in the back away from the view. White wine came out warm, and waiter said "it needs time to chill" absurd. I wouldn't go back or recommend.
