I have mixed feelings about Sunda.
My first visit didn't win me over 100%, but it certainly didn't completely scare me off. I'd be willing to return and try some other dishes but I felt the waitresses recommendations fell flat and I was disappointed in the food. The Oxtail pot stickers were interesting but not worth repeating. The Crispy Rice rolls with spicy tuna and Wagu beef were just okay. The Crab Noodles tasted good but had an abysmal amount of actual Crab. And the Chicken was tasty but nothing to write home about. The drinks were good and I see a lot of promise, so I hope to go xi. I'll have to go with someone else though because my husband refuses. It was not a great value as all dishes are pretty expensive. So to not be wowed was a deal breaker for him.
Be the first to ReplyWe had the absolute best experience here the other day.
Our waiter had worked there since he was 17, working his way through jobs to get to waiter. He was SO knowledgable and friendly. We even called over his management team to let them know how wonderful their employee was. We essentially ordered whatever our waiter told us to. Sweet, gracious young man. Every menu item we tried was delicious. Our drinks were good. We were there a long time and our waiter never tired. Parking is in garages nearby, which usually have the first hour free. I'm a local and love coming here, but now I have a staff favorite!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing all around.
Fantastic sushi, creative dishes, & a gorgeous place to have a meal.
Be the first to ReplySunday has a delicious brunch menu.
Our waiter recommended delicious items to try. Their bibingka was a great recommendation. We didn't have reservations and were seated fairly quickly.

While in Nashville, I got a chance to check out Sunda for dinner on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation but only had to wait about ten minutes. It was a modern atmosphere. Our waiter was really good. He provided recommendations on cocktails and food items. I did decide to get a cocktail from his recommendation that had rum in it. Very good! The shrimp pad that was delicious! My fiancée had the chicken pad Thai and she liked hers as well. It was a really good dining experience!

Wasn't busy at all when we arrived when they opened. Service was standard. The waffles were soft and fresh. The Japanese fried chicken was solid. The Bao buns were on point. Definitely get those again. The inside was large, so plenty of room for large parties. It's a little pricey for brunch but no regrets.

Literally never ever get the crispy rice + wagyu - it tastes like a hamburger at best. Everything else was incredibly average for the price point. Also they play pop music and have horrible service. Tread lightly. Lighting is horrible. Also the bathroom is so gross I squatted on the toilet (I don't squat in the airport). Can't cross your legs under the table (I'm 5'8"). TLDR - don't go.

Super yummy food, and great place to share dishes with friends! Service was good. There's a paid parking lot nearby and street parking. The bathroom was very clean. Would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI came on a Friday night and the vibes were immaculate.
Whoever had the aux was playing all the good throwback R&B and made eating here very enjoyable. I ordered The Crazy Rice and street corn and it was soooo good! My friend ordered crispy rice tuna and it was also delicious. We had about three different servers and every one of them were great. The cocktails were extremely strong to my liking but I know some people like strong drinks so if you do, order the Perfect Strangers because it will definitely get you there!
Be the first to ReplyI went for brunch a couple years ago.
...the über waffles were soo pretty and tasted really good too. I don't remember much but we had chicken that was also amazing. I definitely recommend. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, and there was a relaxing vibe.
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant I have eaten at in a long time.
It is not often that 5/5 orders at the table are absolutely phenomenal. There was no dish that was mediocre, everything was amazing. On par with a Michelin star restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyWe went here on a Tuesday night for dinner.
The service was friendly but very slow. The atmosphere was upbeat with good vibes. We ordered the panda sushi roll, tofu pad Thai, wagyu and tuna crispy rice, and seasonal assorted cookies. The sushi roll was room temperature and had unremarkable flavor. The pad Thai was too sweet without enough flavor. The tuna crispy rice was mushy and was not crispy. The wagyu crispy rice on the other hand was incredible with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with excellent flavor. All the cookies were not warm. They were also hard and tasted store bought. Overall, we were unimpressed and thought the prices were significantly too high for the poor quality of the food

Great Philippine longganisa breakfast! Sunda has a Pan-Asian mixed menu. My wife tried their ube waffle and Japanese fried chicken. Also, yummy. And son had steak and eggs. We will have to come back and try their Filipino dinner menu.

Such a delicious find! The ambiance is warm, open and inviting. Very friendly and attentive service as well. Will definitely be returning!
Be the first to ReplyLoved the vibe of this place, great music and ambiance.
Menu is a fusion of Asian food that had some great tasty bites. We loved the Oxtail Pot Stickers and the pork belly steamed buns.

5Ambiance - 10Service - 8Cleanliness - 10Food was delicious, whatever sauce they use for the salmon is killer. The ambiance is really cool, this would be a great place to take your significant other for a special occasion. They've got a neat bar near the center/side of the restaurant, fairly dim lighting, candlelit tables. The service was great, but nothing out of the ordinary. Lastly, the venue was very clean, or at least it looked so!Overall, great spot if you want sushi or some asian-inspired cuisine.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for the first time yesterday.
Reasonable vibe, it's a little dark inside for me. Food, let's go one by one...1) yellow tail with jalapeño, extremely disappointed for the price and the portion that I received. The flavor was actually JUST alright. Not justified for what we paid for. 2) pork belly buns, okay, this one is actually good. I didn't mind paying for this. 3) wagyu steak and spicy tuna crispy rice cake, our group were NOT impressed at all. Rice was NOT that crispy, portion is tiny, and would not recommend if you really know what crispy rice truly is. 4) lumpia.... This one was a good one. Good mean, you and your friends can have more than one bite out of it. The fish sauce was actually MY favorite out of my WHOLE dinner. Honestly, I understand the cost of food went up and all that, but they can at least try to serve veggies for this lumpia more than just butter lettuce. Mint, Thai basil wouldn't be too bad to serve with it. Or even some cheap shredded carrots. 5) pancit, mixed feelings about this item. Portion, okay, it's considered main dish so it's "bigger". We got 4 pieces of pork on top of the noodle. It was just a bland piece of pork. I had to dip the pork into the sauce from lumpia to truly enjoy the pork. Noodle, UGH, whoever cooked it, destroyed it with the sauce that overwhelmed with salt. What a disappointment! Almost forgot, we also got the potsticker, it's okay. If you order it great, if you don't order it, you don't miss much. Service was okay as I wouldn't expect anything less for how "upscale" it looks. Here is the thing Sunda, if you are going to be charge a fancy price for your food, at least, provide the REAL chopstick for your customer, instead of "take out" chopsticks. Bottom line, wouldn't come back because this is a overpriced Asian fusion restaurant unless you just want to be touristy and experience everything in life at least once.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great experience and amazing food.
...we had a group of 10 and the flavors and service were awesome!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere.
Good flavors. The gambler is a fun interactive dish - one of the six rolls has ghost pepper. Leave it up to fate to find the one with heat, that's the gamble you take.

Great place, atmosphere perfect for a celebration or any reason! Food was excellent! We will go again!

Tried Sunda for the first time on a Saturday at noon for brunch. The food was very tasty, however the brunch menu was a little bit limited. Our service was great but not surprising since the restaurant was not very busy. The Bloody Mary was super fun, we did not need much food besides that! And the champagne kit was a nice touch for the price. Our sushi roll was good but I would not come here just for the sushi. The ambience was nice but I could see it being a lot more lively at night. Not sure why brunch was so empty with so many people looking for brunch in the gulch. I would definitely recommend stopping if you are looking for a unique brunch place and don't want to wait hours for the other places in the area! Will be coming back to try dinner.
Be the first to ReplyElegant, gourmet Asian dining with great service.
The food was all very tasty! Portions are gracious but come out as prepared so plan to share with your crew. Our favorite was the Wagyu Crispy Rice. So tender and flavorful. Our desert was appropriately named 'Ridiculous'...ridiculously huge, tasty and unique blend of flavors. Our server, Annie, made the experience even better with her willingness to guide us through menu suggestions and happy demeanor!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, but extremely small plates and boy is it PRICEY.
25 bucks for a essentially a cereal bowl sized portion of fried rice.... And plus sushi rolls are 20+ bucks. Great ambience but probably not worth the price paid. If they upped their portion sizes or knocked prices down 25% it would be worth it
Be the first to ReplyReally great experience ! Ambiance is lively and chic.
Our waitress was super fast and attentive. Food came out very quickly and everything was spot on. We had the bao buns crab garlic noodles, oxtail dumplings, and snow crab roll and everything was 5/5. I would def recommend this place to anyone! Great experience!
