This is a fabulous omakase spot walking distance from my office. I've been here three times and have suggested it to my friends for a quick and delicious lunch. I won't spoil what the entrance looks like but it makes for a great surprise. Overall, it's good vibes, quality sushi, and great value for $60. You get ikura, spotted prawn, fatty tuna, uni, wagyu, and with some delicious flavorings like yuzu and truffle salt. I really like that they have hot/seared pieces as well. A very balanced meal overall, and filling!! It's a 30 minute timed seating, but they don't rush you especially if there aren't people waiting. Definitely an intimate setting (with dim lights and music playing). I wouldn't go with more than 3 people because of the counter seating but it's perfect for a small group. I'll continue to be back!
The original sushi by Boū with a Tokyo alley vibe.
This times square speakeasy is located below ground underneath a flashing "eat me" neon sign adjacent to the delivery room for the hotel. The quick turning seats, food, intimate setting, craft Japanese cocktails and 2:1 customer to staff which means amazing service and vibe makes this a perfect power lunch, date night, couples retreat, biz meeting or bday party
Excellent 12-round sushi pieces prepared by chef.
Very small, quirky venue with a bar that sits maybe ten people and each sitting begins at quarter past the hour. Entry is down a half flight of stairs of street. Don't get confused because there are other sushi restaurants right next door. Delicious and extremely high quality salmon, tuna, roe, surf and turf etc. very fun experience and so cheap. Even with an order of mochi the total was just $140!! Great deal. Only downside is it's in mid-town but that makes it a great stop after a show!
Sushi Bou is an up-and-coming omakase spot, but my
Sushi Bou is an up-and-coming omakase spot, but my experience was mixed. While the food was enjoyable, the timing felt rushed and the service lacked accommodation for my friend's allergies. Despite calling ahead to notify them and receiving assurance that they would accommodate, they were unwilling to change gloves or adjust their service. The staff's response felt rude and dismissive, particularly when my friend left to find food elsewhere. The chef's explanation that allergies were not their responsibility and that timing took precedence seemed unreasonable, as many establishments are accommodating and communicate their limitations clearly. Overall, while the food was good, the lack of consideration for allergies and the rushed atmosphere left a sour note.
Service: Personal.
There are only 8 seats, so reservations area must. Each chef takes care of 4 guests and you are sitting where the food is being prepared. It was a great experience to have conversations with the chef and watch him prepare in from of you. Arrive on time to your reservation because they tend to start in time. Food: Omakase- 30 mins experience. 12 pieces of sushi. It was delicious, made in front of you, quick service. If you end up liking a certain sushi, you can request it at the end for an up charge. Big Mac Handroll- delicious!! It was a huge bite, the toro, scallop, and uni together was a lot to handle but it was worth the experience. On to my next adventure...

This my 3rd visit to Sushi by Bou but my first time at the original location. We loved each piece and extended our seating to the 18 course omakase because it was that delicious. We really appreciated the sushi chef who made certain we knew what we were having and adjusted for palate or allergy restrictions. I enjoyed more fatty tuna since I don't enjoy uni. It was one of the best omakase experiences in a tiny 10 seat sushi bar experience.
Sushi by Bou in Times Square is a quaint omakase place
Sushi by Bou in Times Square is a quaint omakase place serving a 12 piece course for $60. This is one of our new favorite finds as they serve high quality sushi at an affordable price. They offer an alcohol and cocktails menu with a small bar seating area for you to chill while waiting to be seated. Location wise, there's no need to go into the Sanctuary hotel. There's a separate set of stairs outside the hotel (left of the main entrance) that leads down to the restaurant. We were seated on time but keep in mind if the party before you chooses to order extra items, you will be seated later. The standard set of 12 is only supposed to last 30 minutes. If you choose to order extra, you will feel a bit rushed towards the end as they try to make way for the next party. The course itself had a good variety of sushi- there were several torched items, cooked cod, wagyu, and eel besides your traditional raw fish. Overall we had a great experience for the price and will definitely be back again. Rec: For my uni fans- for an extra $40, you can add an additional 6 pieces of sushi that includes uni. The original 12 course includes uni as part of the 'surf and turf' with a slice of wagyu but for those wanting to savor just the uni alone (sourced from Maine)... the add on course is the way to go. If you just want to add uni, it's $15. Might as well add on the extra $40 so you can also try their salmon nigiri sourced from New Zealand! Cocktail rec: Kyusho cove - hibiscus tea based. Tart and bubbly. $17
Chef is quite nice.
But we finished a omakase in 40 mins. It is so rush. It is not clean enough for me.
I enjoy dining here whenever I am in the mood for some
I enjoy dining here whenever I am in the mood for some high-quality sushi without breaking the bank. It is a small sushi bar that could accommodate 8 people, located in the basement of the Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square. The omakase menu offers 12 pieces of sushi for $60 and an opportunity to order a la carte if you are still hungry. You are expected to finish your meal within 45 mins.
This place is really great for a night out.
The sushi is really good (recommend getting the Big Mac on top of the omakase), but the service is what makes the experience great, with some of the friendliesy sushi chefs in NYC. This definitely was one of my most enjoyable sushi nights in the city!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
