The best! We loved it.
With so many omakase options, this one is a yes. You have 2 choices and we opted for the 17 piece. Definitely worth it.
Be the first to Replymy fav hidden omakase place in NY.
its a great deal for the amount of pieces you get. the chefs are sooo good, the service is amazing, but the taste of the food is beyond words. the creativity that goes in the each piece BUT also the quality of the fish is so amazing. i tried their brooklyn location too but this location is an exception.
Be the first to ReplyI'm not too sure why this place has high reviews.
We were the only diners at 5pm, which was kind of nice, but I do not feel like we got what we paid for. We were starving so we opted for the 17-course which came with 3 appetizers, nigiri, a handroll, and dessert. The quality of the fish was not the best I had in NYC (some were too fishy), and all the pieces of nigiri were not only pretty small, but also covered wayyy too many toppings to mask the underlying flavor of the fish. Some toppings did not complement the fish at all either. I wish they focused more on sourcing the freshest fish than having extra, over the top toppings. Some pieces I did enjoy though were: the salmon appetizer, salmon nigiri with seared tomato (pretty unique, never had a piece like this before), and the golden eye snapper. The dessert was also really delicious -- homemade tofu pudding! Tasted a bit like creme brulee but less sweet and a richer texture. Some pieces I was disappointed by was the toro handroll -- it was rather hard to eat; the nori used was not very fresh and neither was the minced tuna. The otoro was also just decorated in wayyy too many toppings.
Be the first to ReplyI love trying out different omakase spots.
This one had to be one of the best ones I've had thus far. The fish was fresh and the quality was top tier. The service and chef's were great. Would love to come back!

One of the best omakases I've had! My friend took me there and I absolutely loved it. The fish was very fresh and I think each dish had a great flavor profile. We loved the piece with smoked tomato on top the most! It was so special. The service was amazing and the dessert was also really yummy. I high recommend!
Be the first to ReplyThis place was surprisingly good.
I love the intimate space and the quality of the sushi. The 12 course omakase was only $85. Although the portions were small, I was very pleased with each course. I definitely want to return for the 17 course. It is worth returning and the price for the omakase was very reasonable.

I didn't take any pics of the 17 course meal but I wish I did so I could remember my favorites and order extra pieces of my favorites a la carte next time! Every piece was super fresh and felt a little different so the experience felt exciting with each course. The staff was really friendly and the experience was super intimate (as most omakases are) so we were able to converse with the chefs. There was one piece that was served with a mini bread toast and it was my favorite!

I'm a sushi snob and this was amazing experience--did the 12 course omakase and was blown away. Every piece was a revelation.

Sushi en fuego!!! We saw Chris Redd on tv and he said he love Sushi Lin and voila... he was not wrong. We enjoyed the 12 course and added a couple pieces and left super happy and full. Loved the space, the service and the confusingly great price point for the quality of ingredients and the fish. Chef Jason served up some tasty beauties. It has been a while since we've had such a wonderful omakase experience. Thank you Sushi Lin and thanks Chris Redd for being hilarious and loving great sushi.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a friend's birthday lunch on a Sunday.
There is only bar seating which I prefer when it comes to omakase as it makes the experience that much more fun. My group and I opted for the $85 12-course meal which was the perfect portion for lunch. The fish is good and fresh and the staff is welcoming & attentive. The restaurant feels spacious & airy which is nice. The birthday song that accompanied dessert was 'in the club' by 50 Cent. Not sure if this is the standard song they play but we all had a great laugh when it came on
Be the first to ReplyI cam here before aconcert at Barclay Center.
The fish here is amazingly fresh so pretty much every single fish you put in your mouth melt in your mouth, that is how fresh the fish are. I would give this place a 5/5 but the rice was a bit under as the rice was not cooked all the way through on the day I went. I would defintely comeback though in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the top ten omakase restaurants in the city for me.
Dining environment was pretty good and casual. Although they only have two servers of the day, they still take care you well. Really paying attention to the customers every moment. What really surprised me was the food.I ordered the 17 pieces omakase at the day. They come with all the fish I love.especial the Yuzu tai for the appetizer, very refreshing, and the oyster was extremely fresh. Definitely come back again.

I checked out this place since I'm a fan of their Sushi Lin Brooklyn location. The chef and service was incredibly nice. And the omakase had some pretty unique flavors. One of the sushi pieces had a type of ginger sauce that you may find in other Asian cuisines. It works. One of my more favorite pieces was the scallop with yuzu and a bit of salt. Everything tasted so fresh, the sushi just melts in your mouth. I didn't run into any credit card charge issues.

Really nice sushi spot, the pricing was reasonable and a quiet vibe. I particularly liked the eel avocado.
Be the first to ReplyI had the chef's menu here, and it was very good.
For the same 14-course set, it would cost easily over 200 elsewhere in NY with similar environment and quality of service. Chef also explained to me the choice / techniques of handling rice simply because I mentioned some other sushi restaurants had rice that falls apart when i pick up the sushi with chopsticks. Good experience and would recommend.

I recently dined at Sushi Lin SoHo for the omakase sushi experience and it was truly amazing. From start to finish, the meal was a feast for the senses. The sushi chef was a master of his craft, carefully selecting the freshest and most seasonal ingredients to create a personalized menu for us. Each piece was a work of art, with delicate flavors and textures that danced on the palate. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that was beyond comparison. The seasoned rice was the perfect complement to each bite, and the combination of wasabi, soy sauce, and ginger added depth to each dish. The presentation was stunning, with beautiful and intricate arrangements that were just as enjoyable to look at as they were to eat. The service was top-notch, with the wait staff knowledgeable about the menu and offering thoughtful recommendations.Overall, the omakase experience at Sushi Lin SoHo was a truly memorable one. The attention to detail, passion for quality, and expert craftsmanship was evident in every aspect of the meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience.
Be the first to ReplyI don't need an apology.
If you really cared to make things right, you can start by refunding me the $15+ I had to pay on top of my own meal for YOUR credit card fees. Ridiculous. Actions speak louder than words.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was absolutely delicious.
It's strictly Omakase, but the chef/partner was on point. The service was impeccable as my water glass was never empty for more than 30 seconds. I like that the seating is up close and personal as you can witness the artistry up close.

Fan of sushi lin in Brooklyn, so decided to try out the new location, and it was amazing experience. The decoration is simple but stylish, a 12 seaters counter with 2 chefs working behind it. We have the full Omakase menu of 17 pieces, and everything was delicious. The fish is extremely fresh, and the combination of the sauce and toppings really gives your taste buds a real treat. Highly recommended. A few photos of personal favorites.
