What an amazing experience I had last night! I hadn't seen
What an amazing experience I had last night! I hadn't seen my best friend in 5 months yesterday was our "friends date night" Gabby was our mixologist and her services were exceptional!! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time! As a result of this amazing service I will be booking my birthday here in a few months. More business in the area should to role-model this service trend..
Be the first to ReplyBased on the drinks and atmosphere, this would be 5 stars.
But the lackluster food takes it down a notch. This is a place to have a couple of cool cocktails and enjoy the lively music.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but the service was slow.
It might have been the night service but ambience is super cute very picture perfect place
Be the first to ReplyThis is like my fourth time at this venue in the last three
This is like my fourth time at this venue in the last three years. If I were to review this place on decor and ambiance, I would have given it 5+. The food wasn't good, but the chef could have had an off. Now the server - Ana G...leaves a lot to be desired. If bad service were a person - Ana is that person. I thought long and hard before coming on Yelp to leave a bad review. I attempted to call the restaurant a few times to speak to a manager about my experience, but no one picks up the phone and you're instructed to leave a voice mail. So Ana, you can thank your place of employment for not picking up the phone, because what I had plan to do over the phone, now I have chosen to do publicly. Suyo if you have an employee that DOES NOT have your best interest in mind Ana is that employee. You would think that a food server would be amped to suggest drinks or meals to their patrons. I tried very hard to stay neutral and not let my gut feeling set in after our initial encounter with this server. What I thought was friendly banter due to a slight little mistake that she made, that I didn't correct her on, was just the beginning of not only poor service but of complete unprofessionalism. The other servers/assistance were very nice, from the gracious. young woman serving us water to the two gentlemen that served us our food and collected our plates. When I reported to one of the gentlemen that I wish to return a drink that I didn't like and wish to order another one, about 10 minutes later after making this known, Ana walks by our table ,looks at us, and doesn't ask if we needed anything else or if things our going well with our meals. I had to place the drink that I didn't like at the edge of the table so that someone would realize that I didn't want the drink. Ana did come back politely and took my order for the new drink and things were looking up but that tense tone was already in motion. When our food arrived the disappointment just continue to escalate. The chef maybe had an off day. The food was old particularly the tostones. Not once did Ana stop by to ask if we were satisfied with the food. But here comes the highlight to the review. Our checks were sent to the table by the bus boy. Ana should be very happy that the 18% gratuity was already included on the bill. Not that we wouldn't include a tip no matter how poor the service was. Especially when everyone that we encountered aside from Ana was very nice and courteous, however, she lost out of would could have ranged anywhere from 25 to 30% tip because of her lack of professionalism. She was very quick to come back to the table to pick up that payment, but she didn't even say thank you or hope you come back. Had the food been disappointing but we would of had a good experience with the service, then I would say hey it can happen, and I would have gone back to the restaurant. After this experience, I won't ever return, and definitely not recommend this place because of the experience with Ana. Her behavior was worse than the mediocre drinks and bad food that we all ate. The food of every single person in my party was BAD!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered wings ( mango sweet chilli ) , avocado fried rice
I ordered wings ( mango sweet chilli ) , avocado fried rice , chicken empanadas & shrimp egg rolls .. all & all I can honestly say I didn't enjoy a thing , everything was rather spicy the avocado fried rice says fried egg I even requested it scrambled but when it arrived it wasn't scrambled as requested than when asked to correct it they just scrapped off the runny yolk and sent it back to the table . Service was definitely fast, the waiter was a sweetheart ; drinks were okay .
Be the first to ReplyI came here for happy hour and I was quite impressed with
I came here for happy hour and I was quite impressed with the selection. I throughly enjoyed the Bubbles & Dreams cocktail which had Vodka, Hibiscus Nectar, Lemon, and Cava sparkling wine. Such a great pairing. The 1738 sidecar was made just right. The environment is great for a girls night out or a date night specifically the private dining room which is surrounded by glass. Only issue is that the area has no parking and you will be searching for quite some time.
Be the first to ReplyA gem in the rough in this part of the Bronx.
A lovely place to have drinks with coworkers after a shift. The ambience is wonderful, and the wait staff are impressive. They accommodated nine of us on a Friday night pretty last minute, and one of our servers memorized all our orders no writing. Drinks are tasty; they come out pretty fast. Food is also thumbs up, but that came out sort of slow. I recommend "the alchemist" if you like coconut flavored liquor that's instagrammable, and the "bam bam shrimp" if you like a spicy mayo based, crispy appetizer with slaw.
Be the first to ReplyDon't let anyone tell you all the good restaurants in New
Don't let anyone tell you all the good restaurants in New York City are in Manhattan. This former Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant gives you a reason to dine in the Bronx! My friends and I visited on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm and were immediately seated. We were initially escorted to a seat on the casual first floor level; however, we wisely asked to be relocated to the second floor, which had more of a vibe and a live music band. Our waiter was personable and offered us great food and drink recommendations. One of my friends ordered the Bubbles and Dreams cocktail (vodka, hibiscus nectar, lemon, cava), while my other friend opted for a tequila drink that was served in a ceramic jar and topped off with a flame. I ordered a drink with mezcal and pineapple. The drinks were flavorful, but not strong.Next up were appetizers! We shared the tostados de pulpo, Thai chicken empanadas, purple corn calamari, and guacamole. Everything was delicious and my personal fave was the Thai chicken empanadas! The appetizers whetted our appetite for the main course. My friends ordered the sweet plantain mofongo with shrimp and roasted salmon dishes respectively, while I opted for the Thai trifongo (lemongrass chicken, orange yuzu, yellow and green plantains, yuca, watermelon radish, fried onion, and furikake). We loved the mofongo and Thai trifongo dishes; however, the salmon was a little overcooked and was upstaged by the accompanying spicy rice and mango salsa.Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant and would dine here again. Know before you go: -Go for: The food and live music-Prepare to: Speak in raised tones if you want to have a conversation at your table over the music-Skip:The bathroom. The one-room stall was very unkempt!-Location: Walking distance from the 170th St stop on the 4 train-Parking: Limited street parking
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance was fun and yet wasn't chaotic.
Staff was friendly.Drinks were delicious but the food was the star of the show. Everything we ordered, I was ready to get seconds of.Just- YUM! If I lived closer, I'd be in here weekly. But it's close enough to the NY Botanical Garden so next time I'm there, I'll be back here for dinner.
Be the first to ReplySuyo is such a nice addition to the growing restaurant
Suyo is such a nice addition to the growing restaurant scene in the Bronx. It's a fusion of Asian and Latin cultures and it goes together so well. I've gone for drinks with friends and also dinner on the weekends and have only had pleasant experiences. Some of my favorite menu items are the calamari, the mango sweet chili chicken wings, the skirt steak, and the garlic fried rice. You really cannot go wrong with any of these dishes. They are super flavorful and very filling. I wish I could take some of the chimichurri from the skirt steak and bring it home. They specialize in craft cocktails so do yourself a favor and order at least one. I had the alchemist which they set on fire at the table, very cool for photos. My only complaint is that the live music can be very loud and make it difficult to speak to others in your party
Be the first to ReplyI've wanted to try this place for a long time and when I
I've wanted to try this place for a long time and when I came here a couple of months ago they did not disappoint. Is the upstairs sitting area narrow? Yes. But are the vibes right? Hell yes. I would recommend this spot for date night or a night out with friends. The drinks are fun and well made, and the food is flavorful. Visit this gem in the Bronx, and you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time and the vibes were awesome for a Tuesday
First time and the vibes were awesome for a Tuesday evening, I was on a date and this is a place he frequents, food was really good, everything was unique and beautiful and tasty.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Michelin star restaurant in the Bronx! I dined here
Great Michelin star restaurant in the Bronx! I dined here three times so far in order to offer a fair assessment.PROS:*Staff is great! Super friendly, engaging, and fast-but you don't feel rushed.*Beautiful interior design and roomy. You're not sitting in the lap of the next table of guests. The place is huge with three levels and enough restrooms that you don't have to wait and wiggle :)*The drinks are on point no matter what you order! Going during happy hour is a must!*The food was a hit twice and a total miss once. I ordered the same items in order to make a fair comparison: fried shrimp dumplings, avocado rice, Thai rice, roasted salmon, shrimp egg rolls, bam bam shrimp, veggie pad Thai, rice & black beans, sweet plantains. The first visit was on a Saturday evening and the food was beyond delicious! I loved that every item has it's own distinct flavor/seasoning. The second visit was on a Thursday evening and it was the worst! Everything, and I mean everything, tasted like black pepper. So much so, you could actually see the pepper on the food. Someone had to have made a mistake in the kitchen. I was unable to finish the food. The third visit was on a Tuesday evening and all the stars were aligned! The food was seasoned to perfection. The Thai rice is my favorite dish, and I'm not a big rice eater.CONS:IT'S TOO LOUD! Did you hear what I said? IT'S TOO LOUD!Unfortunately, having a conversation is virtually impossible. The music is at deafening levels and the later it gets the louder it gets. A drummer (not a band) played to accompany the already loud music. It was unnecessary and only made having conversations out of the question. My party of four had to leave earlier than we would have like because of this.FINAL THOUGHTS:Beautiful restaurant with good food, drinks, staff, and service. Go when they open, the music isn't so loud at that point. I'll definitely return in the future.
Be the first to ReplyIt was ok .
Vibes was nice and the food was good . Drinks was cute and service was ok. I had the Beef Empanadas which was sooo good with some curry dipping sauce... the Shrimp Soba Noodles I was not a fan . My friend had the Roasted Salmon and she loved it
Be the first to ReplyService is top-notch and drinks are good at this Michelin
Service is top-notch and drinks are good at this Michelin starred restaurant. The decor is nice and the music is good without being over-bearing. Went here on a Saturday nite with my girls and had the salmon and avocado rice. The fish was good and the rice was delicious, well seasoned and tasty--and I'm not a rice eater. It was so good I came the next Friday for happy hour and ordered the same dish. Drinks were on point and salmon was good as usual but the rice was lackluster. It was peppery, not the wonderful mix of spices like the week before. Also ordered ice cream for dessert and it was a disappointment. I thought it would be rich and creamy like Häagen-Dazs but it was a cheap air-filled version just like the cheap supermarket ice cream that comes in a huge tub that you might buy for a kiddie birthday party. Still, this is a great place for date nite and birthday celebrations. I will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyThis Is the best spot !!! In the Bronx.
.. The atmosphere is amazing!! The servers are so nice!! Food Is Wonderful, different, and what we need!!!
Be the first to ReplyI would come back here for a fact.
The food has flavor, usually always paired with a tasty flavorful sauce. The service was great and I will be back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyA girlfriend of mine and I decided to check out Suyo from
A girlfriend of mine and I decided to check out Suyo from seeing a few tik tok videos. The vibe and aesthetics were great and the DJ was cool too with a mixture of Latin, dancehall, and R&b vibes. The drinks were delicious (I recommend the alchemist) and the food was tasty. I'd say that the drinks were 10/10 and the food was an 8/10. I ordered the fried rice and pork belly bao buns while my friend got chicken mofongo. Our server (I can't recall his name) was nice too and we talked to him for a bit. It's a hidden gem right in the South Bronx and overall, I'd say check it out!
Be the first to ReplyThis place has super potential, the manager that greets you
This place has super potential, the manager that greets you as a solid guy. But the rest of the staff acts like you're bothering them when you approach them. I don't understand, they are fair is on the pricey side, for the location you figure the wait staff would be friendly or nice. Totally not the case when you walk in they look at you as if they are doing you a favor. There are empanadas a Slammin, but so zona to Cuba'sPretty sure I wouldn't recommend this place, and what's really sad is there is no good food in the grand concourse area. This area is ripe for a good restaurant to come in and take everybody's money. But it appears Bronx restaurant owners just suck
Be the first to ReplyI've gone to this place about 3 times now and every time
I've gone to this place about 3 times now and every time the food has been incredibly flavorful. The ambience is trendy and the space is large and open. Really nice for a date night. I frequently visit Yankee stadium and I usually come to eat dinner here before catching the game as it is not too far from the stadium.
Be the first to ReplySo let me just say I decided to come here SOLO because all
So let me just say I decided to come here SOLO because all of my friends were too "busy" At 10pm on a Saturday. On the flip side, there's nothing like enjoying the company of yourself. Walking in, the ambiance was nice. The walls were back but they had colorful paintings and lights to set the mood on a Saturday night. Everything that I ordered was AMAZING. It was like a party in my mouth! From the bubbly drink that I had with hints of all kinds of flavors. To the appetizer and entree. Would DEFINITELY Recommend! My Friends Definitely Missed Out
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give them a sixth star, I absolutely would.
This place is a gem. Amazing service, wonderful music, delicious food, great cocktails. Angel is the absolute best; you're in luck if he attends to you!!In short, I had an amazing time, and would definitely recommend it! I certainly will be visiting Suyo Gastrofusion again!!
Be the first to ReplyI came here for my sis birthday and reservations are easy
I came here for my sis birthday and reservations are easy to make through open table or you can call. They don't really have a request option for the downstairs or upstairs but once we arrived to our reservations they were pretty accommodating to combining our party into a bigger table. My first impression was great everyone was friendly. They also took our drink orders right away. The upstairs was definitely nice as you can see the views of the bar and they have bigger tables for the larger groups. For appetizers I got wings , "ceviche" and buns although we asked for dumplings these were great as well. The wings were so flavorful and yummy my favorite from all 3. The ceviche was good but a little spicy for me. The buns I enjoyed as well. For entrees my party had lomo saltado, churrasco and a mofongo they were all delicious. I would say the only thing is I do like my food hot and it was more warm but that's my only complaint. Now for drinks I was very excited as I tried a couple and they were all delicious. My first drink was the alchemist drink it tasted like a piña colada very delicious the presentation was lovely as well. The Queen of technicolor is more on the tarty side but my sister loved it and has a beautiful feather. La Bilirrubina perfect taste if you want something stronger or the old fashion.Lastly the Kimo Apache was interesting taste and hint of thyme. For dessert we got a tres leche which had some hint of like chinola. The place is huge and has a dj we we're able to have a blast with djloko they also had live music & comedy. The vibes was really dope Ans I will definitely be back.

I am a foodie I run a food blog on Instagram and so I'm on the pickier with that said , I appreciate the fact they gave a chance to bring a nice restaurant to 170 street in the Bronx , a place where the options are minimal . So kuddos there , Happy hour is also pretty good ... I had the shrimp for the appetizer I really enjoyed it ..... The fish was descent the sauce had an interesting taste ...*it's a fusion of Latin and Asian * ... Would I go back probably for happy hour .
Be the first to ReplyDon't judge a book by its cover.
Worse restaurants I've been to in my life. Horrible service, all food came to us very very late. The food I ordered was never written down and never came to the table. All the customers around us complained. Poorly trained waiters with attitudes. First and last time. :)
