Went here for the first time and now it's one of my favorite places to go to. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Everything I ordered was delicious. The only one critique I have is they might be catering to a bit of an older crowd

Having begun this review at least a half dozen times I finally have to admit to admit the truth: I love that Tadich, San Francisco's oldest restaurant (dating back to 1849), still exists and want them to stick around forever. I think everyone
Go for the history on the ambience! Beautiful

One of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had in SF. The workers are rude, condescending, racist, and rushed me out 15 minutes after I got my food. They spent the entire time standing and staring at me and my my friend while we sat at
Decent place for after work happy hour.
Lunch is good as well, albeit not the greatest. Fun place overall
A classic and deservedly so
The oldest restaurant in California remains a classic. Classic ambience, classic service, a classic menu, and classic preparations. Tadich is a survivor, and there are many good reasons. By the way, here's a newsflash: they now take reservation

A weird and disappointing night at one of my favorite San Francisco restaurants... The energy and ambience were in full swing, but no one could decide if they were our server. Different servers would act surprised when we said someone else took our

The restaurant is a bit loud and everything feels very dated. That may be as desired since it is the oldest restaurant in San Francisco, but I just thought all the flavor was lacking. The crab cakes were okay, the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were
Came here for dinner while in town.
Ordered a wedge salad, salad with seafood to start. Decent bread served. Very good waiter. Wedge was decent as was seafood salad. Main dishes was cioppino , fish and chips and pan fried sole. All 3 dishes were just good. Cioppino was somewhat dissati
It was late night, but the foods was filling.
I enjoyed the slice of the steaks, and the rest of the items were fine as well.
San Francisco Perfection
I had my first Tadich Grill dinner experience 44 years ago and last night was the best ever. It felt like 1981 again as soon as we walked in the door. The bar man’s greeting was warm and gracious and our waiter was professional and very polite.

A classic SF restaurant for a reason! The ciopinno is amazing as always. That plus a cocktail was incredible!
50 years in attendance.
Never disappointed. Jacketed, aproned waiters, Bay fish perfectly prepared, well-selected wine - and from scratch tartar sauce. So local! So special!
Rudest server I have ever had.
Wow, he really wanted us to pay him and leave as quickly as possible. Food was good.
Wow the history of this place and the FOOD soooo good!!!
Wow the history of this place and the FOOD soooo good!!! Especially the seafood dishes . Of course I had to try the Chiopino exceptional , worth every penny. The bread before the meal was great and the ambiance was sweet. Our waitress was very atten
We just had a magical night at Tadich Grill.
We arrived early for our reservation so we sat at the bar where we were served amazing cocktails. Then the host (wish I had gotten his name) "worked his magic" & secured us an enclosed booth. Brian waited on us and made my 85 year old
I am a 3 rd Gen SF.
I have been going to Tadishes my whole adult life. On a recent visit to SF , Tadish's was on my list! What a disappointment!! The shrimp cocktail was barely thawed shrimp, the blooding Mary was so hot you could not drink it. We asked for some
Old World Charm
I keep coming back here and it’s always been great and yesterday was no exception. Love the ambiance here. Calamari followed by 1/2 Chicken both of which were lovely. Waiters immaculately dressed in white, no piped music and just a lovely atmosph
Still great.....
I ordered the cioppino and crab cakes. I have been going here for many years and it has not changed. The booths are great. I recommend.
Punished forbeing alone.
I have been going to Tadich Grill since I was 17 and I am now 79 (you do the math). I had a reservation but was refused seating because I was alone. They told me I could eat at the bar but they would not give me a table. The place was not crowded
You have to go here!
After twenty-five years, I found Tadich Grill to be still an excellent experience, again. Everyone had a wonderful time. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The portions, at least to me, were large. Highly enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller. The
Meh... Wouldn't Go Back
First, the good: We went to Tadich Grill on a recommendation from a friend "back home" who lived in San Francisco for most of his life and said we HAD to try it for dinner while we were in town. We (party of 3) did not make a reservation
Decent food, mediocre service.
The food was good. The service could have been better. We booked a table for, I guess, the last seatings they offer, and the first thing our waiter said was "just to let you know, the kitchen will be shutting soon." It was a good meal in te
Pleasant experience
We enjoyed dinner with friends at Tadich Grill. It has an old-time, classy and comfortable atmosphere. We were fortunate to get a "booth", a table, separated by wood panels, which provided privacy. We started with the Dungeness crab and h

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Tadich Grill San Francisco at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Tadich Grill San Francisco page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation

* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Tadich Grill San Francisco!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
