An excellent gourmet restaurant at the foot of the basilica.
This restaurant near Saint Stephen's Basilica is perfect in every way. The dishes are refined with a local touch but remain particularly creative both in terms of flavors and visuals. The selection of Hungarian wines on the tasting menu is flawless. Finally, the service is excellent, attentive and friendly. Well done!

Budapest. Very nice restaurant. The service is simply perfect, unobtrusive, but always appropriate and on time. It’s quite hard to believe that these are Hungarian dishes: they are very skillfully prepared and served. Very far from the classics. Worth a try if you want a modern interpretation of Hungarian dishes.

It's difficult to understand how this restaurant is referenced in Michelin. Waiting almost 1 hour to be served, food served lukewarm, it wasn't bad but add to that an unbearable waiter and you will understand why it is better to avoid this restaurant. It’s true that I was surprised to have a problem-free reservation!

We came for a light dinner, something like a soup, but ended up seduced by interesting dishes on the menu. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful presentation of very elaborate dishes: roasted leg of rabbit, and catfish fillet. The menu offers few items to choose from. Each one is a work of art and plays out beautifully with the name of the restaurant. It's all about a combination of flavors and textures. To wrap it up, we ordered the rice pudding, a beautiful, artistic presentation, but you're almost afraid to break up to eat it The list of wines provides excellent choices at reasonable prices. The waiters are very well informed about the food and wines, and will answer any questions you may have. The restaurant has been reviewed by Michel for several years and I wouldn't be surprised if they receive a well-deserved award soon
Be the first to ReplyWow…visually stunning and supremely tasty
Wow…what a great find. A fine dining restaurant that could fit in any city around the world. The talented chefs produce not only visually stunning meals but also packed full of flavour. Both inventive and creative, beautifully presented with impeccable service and great Hungarian wine pairings. Exceptional value for such a great restaurant, can’t recommend highly enough.

Our waiter Bence went above and beyond for my moms birthday, his explanations of the food were great and his recommendation on their local wine was 👌🏼 it was also nice to see how proud the staff were when sharing how the restaurant recycles it’s wine bottles into plates!!

Beautiful tasting menu. Pairing wines were delicious and great that they were all Hungarian. I've never even seen a juice pairing before but it worked so well! Staff really knowledgable about wines and happy to make recommendations

Excellent food and service, not overly cheap but intricate, well presented dishes that were well worth the price. Invest in an evening here, it provides a wonderful contrast to some of the heavier offerings in Budapest.

There was not one course item that I would say is good. So disappointing. It was bad. From sloppy presentation, such as lopsided presentation to plates that weren’t properly wiped off with smudged on them. I should have known this was like practice for the chef when they told me that they don’t put the menu items on the menu. My waiter was a nice guy and he did a good job. He did as well as he was trained. The restaurant seemed short staffed, and it took a long time to attend to customers. It took 2.5 hours to serve a 5 course meal that I couldn’t wait to get out of. The rest of the staff was ok, suitable for the regular menu and price, not suitable for a tasting menu, aspiring to be Michelin type of service. The course in the crab was extremely salty and I asked if it’s intended to be like that. The waiter said he will check on it, but he never did let me know. The beef was mushy and tasteless. The beet dish was bland. The dessert was bad and it was presented lopsided, smudged. Any bakery would have done better. I’m willing to try their regular menu. The regular menu is also a fraction of the price of the tasting menu, so if it’s not good, I wouldn’t feel so ripped off. Main/entrees on the regular menu ranged from 3-9000 florint. The tasting menus start at 33,000 florint.

What an amazing place! This restaurant is Michelin guide but should really have a Michelin star. Everything was so delicately crafted and tasty - it’s difficult to describe! The service was excellent too. We liked the decorations and wine wall that also serves as a wine cooler. Very clever. We received also some lovely complementary things before and after our meal which is a nice touch. Would highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service, cheap look and feel
This is the sister venue of a Michelin star restaurant, and it shows. Tasty and pretty food, but no set menu torture and reasonable prices. Two things they could and should quickly fix: - replace the cheap laminated furniture - while doing the above, get slightly larger tables, currently there is too much of a bistro feel Anyway, overall recommended provided you don't expect perfection

We went to Textura with big expectations as we respect the chef/owner. Started with appetizers that were exceptional and very tasty, credit where credit is due. The problem started when our main courses arrived. The sauce accompanying my beef was incredibly sour and had a horrible aftertaste. As this was a dish I was familiar with, this was not caused by my ignorance. I couldn't eat it at all, I was scrubbing it off the vegetables and meat. When I said this to our waiter his only reaction was 'Thanks'. No apology, no questions about why I felt this way. My spouse's dish was okay, but for the price ok should not cut it. The desserts were the same interestingly. My spouse had an okay dessert, I had a sauce that was incredibly bitter and the presentation of mine was not very appetizing. What was really appealing is that when the waiter deliver the dessert he made a remark referring to my dissatisfaction with the main dish, which I felt was rude and uncalled for. They knew they didn't do a good job, as the waiter who brought the check didn't ask anything about our experience or the food, as it is custom in other places, just presented the very expensive check with 13,5% tip, took the payment and left.

Our 2nd visit to Textura in the last 12-months which didn't disappoint! Lovely, friendly service and great food/wine. Cannot recommend highly enough - a must if you are visitng the city

Be the first to ReplyOutstanding tasting menu.
The food, the service, the wine. It was all faultless, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. 7 beautiful courses all paired excellently with mostly Hungarian wines. And their homemade chocolate “monkey nuts” to end, were quite possibly the best chocolates I’ve ever eaten. Please go here.
Be the first to ReplyGreat plates, attentive staff
Textura was nicely flexible to the changes we made in our reservation. The service is quick, attentive, the staff speaks good English. I ate the Trout ceviche, the Rib-eye and the Chocolate and sour cherry, all of them were excellent, just as the red St.Andrea Bikavér. I can only recommend the place.
Be the first to ReplyExceed our expectations
This restaurant really exceeded our expectations. The presentation of our food was astonishing. Our waiter was so nice and caring. He really tried ad succeed in making a remarkable dinner . The portions are rather small and I strongly suggest reservation
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant
The restaurant is in the city center, a corner from the Basilica. In the same street the owner has a Michelin-starred restaurant as well. This place offers Hungarian-style dishes with modern preparation and they are playing with the different textures of the ingredients. It is not cheap but it is worth the price to try 3 courses or the degustation menu.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, excellent dining experience
I ate here twice with friends and had a wonderful experience both times. The food is absolutely delicious. Really top-notch. The service was great. Very friendly/helpful servers who provided great wine recommendations to pair with our meals too. The inside atmosphere is nice, but I particularly love the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Really a perfect spot to have a long summer evening meal with friends! Take your time and enjoy the meal. It's worth it!

Nice! I am now enjoying tasting menu. Very friendly waiters who changed pigeon with duck liver, letting me taste 2 tokai wine to choose from. I’m attaching pictures from my tasting menu, which is with wine to pair with , around $120.
Be the first to ReplyMy family visit to TEXTURA
I've heard alot of good praise for this restaurant and was greatly disappointed by the quality of the service and the quality of the food.
Me and my family all ordered the tasting menu without the wine, i have to give abit of credit to the restaurant for giving fresh bread and butter and still and sparkly water without charge, our first dish was an appetizer which was basically beetroot and a bit of beetroot foam it was an extremely basic dish both in flavour and texture, after that we waited approximately 5-10 minutes untill our "fish soup" arrived the fish soup was terribly seasond with dill and fennel and was to sour and just not that good..
Our next appaizer was pigeon breast and mushroom Ragu the pigeon was undercooked
And was sent back which unfortunately took them another 15 minutes to make it was rather tasty ,
The main course was a steak and alot and i mean alot of onions the steak was really nice
But was served with a huge fried onion which gave the whole dish a KFC Vibe to it , when it comes to fine dining restaurant KFC is NOT my go to so after we finished the steak with alot of onions we got a form of a diconstracted apple strudel that was good but nothing more then good overall a very bad experience for a Michelin star restaurant.
An average experience
The inside of the restaurant was nice. But the staff was rude and we didn't feel welcome to the place. The food was presented very nice but the taste was very average. If we had an alternative we would have left the place mostly because of the staffs' behaviour.

My companion and I both chose degustation menu of five courses paired with five wines, 0.1 liter each. The middle three courses, after a cold appetizer of beetroot and before a desert, were as follows. Delicious fish soup was paired with a riesling. Pidgeon breast and leg were paired with a full-bodied white wine. Rare sirloin was paired with a full-bodied red wine. The portions were small and nicely presented. Our waiter indulged my interest in wines. The bill for two amounted to 306 euros.
