The Conch House Restaurant St. Augustine Reviews from The Last Year
A wonderful Florida experience!
Even after 20+ years of frequenting this place, I still love it. The location is convenient with plenty of parking. I had shrimp and grits yesterday, my companion had fried shrimp. We were both pleased with our meals and even had some leftovers to take home. I've also gone here for just appetizers and drinks and the adjacent pier is great to sit and have a drink and take in the beautiful surroundings. I'm happy to report that even after many years, their quality has stayed high. As the picture shows, there is tiki hut dining, both high and ground level...super place to take out of towners. The vibe is definitely Florida - maybe a combo of St. Augustine and the Keys!
Everything.
I will be bringing new family members next time We enjoyed everything hopefully next we can go on the boat.
Overated food, but atmosphere great!
Beautiful atmosphere. However food was below average. Waitress was very inattentive. Ordered shrimp & Gritts & lobster Mac & cheese.
Upon the recommendation of a local friend, we decided to
Upon the recommendation of a local friend, we decided to visit Conch House Restaurant, enticed by the allure of its charming ambiance and breathtaking view of the intercostal waters. To secure our spot, we made use of Yelp's convenient waitlist feature, which allowed us to patiently anticipate our turn. Opting for a Tiki Hut table, we were prepared to wait a little longer than usual, but this only added to the anticipation and excitement. Fortunately, luck was on our side, as we were granted an elevated Tiki Hut table. From this vantage point, we were treated to a panoramic view that exceeded our expectations. The tranquil waters and picturesque surroundings set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. As we perused the menu, my wife's eyes were immediately drawn to the Ribeye. This mouthwatering dish consisted of a generous 14 oz Blackened ribeye steak, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked green beans. With each savory bite, she fell deeper in love with the dish, devouring nearly the entire steak. Opting for a lighter option, I chose the shrimp tacos. Presented on three soft flour tortillas, they were filled with crisp cabbage, flavorful corn salsa, and a hint of chipotle mayo. Served alongside black beans and fragrant coconut rice, the dish was a delicious combination of flavors. While I enjoyed the tacos, I couldn't help but ponder the enticing array of other options on the menu, leaving me eager to return and explore further culinary delights. Our daughter, an avid fan of macaroni and cheese, opted for the Lobster Mac n Cheese. This delectable creation featured sautéed cold water lobster immersed in a rich cheddar and smoked Gouda cheese sauce, all atop perfectly cooked shell macaroni. The dish was then elegantly finished with a crunchy panko topping. With each forkful, she could hardly contain her delight, declaring it the best macaroni and cheese she had ever tasted. Aside from the culinary experience, we were pleased to find that the cleanliness of the restaurant matched the quality of the food. The bathrooms were impeccably maintained, and the overall establishment exuded a sense of cleanliness and attention to detail. The abundance of outdoor seating options allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings, further enhancing our dining experience. Notably, Conch House Restaurant even boasts the presence of baby alligators, adding a touch of excitement for guests of all ages. One aspect to note is that parking can be a challenge, as the popularity of the restaurant attracts a steady stream of visitors. However, we found that the overall experience at Conch House Restaurant more than made up for this minor inconvenience.
Environment is beautiful (recommend the tiki huts) lobster
Environment is beautiful (recommend the tiki huts) lobster mac and cheese always so good, calamari is very good love the peppers that come with it, everything is great and worth the pricey check.

A Relaxing Gem by the Sea: Conch House Restaurant Our visit
A Relaxing Gem by the Sea: Conch House Restaurant Our visit to Conch House Restaurant was a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find ample parking available, setting the tone for a stress-free outing. Opting to dine outdoors on a picturesque day, we were greeted by a stunning view, making our decision to sit outside all the more enjoyable.Though tempted by the charming tiki hut tables, we opted not to wait, and our server, Jack, promptly attended to us with a warm demeanor and helpful suggestions. I savored a cup of Minorcan conch chowder, brimming with flavor with a shrimp salad wrap complemented by a refreshing cucumber salad. Larry, on the other hand, relished the pulled pork sandwich on a toasted bun, accompanied by coleslaw and fries. To cap off our meal, we couldn't resist sharing a slice of their house-made key lime pie, which proved to be the perfect finale to our culinary journey. Each dish was executed with finesse, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to quality ingredients. As first-time patrons, we left with a sense of satisfaction and a promise to return. Conch House Restaurant has undoubtedly earned a spot on our list of favorites, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit to savor more of their delectable offerings.
The calamari to the main course was the best we've ever had
The calamari to the main course was the best we've ever had anywhere. The waitstaff was extremely friendly. We had the Annostasia shrimp and the ribeye with the lobster tail. I highly recommend this place. The outdoor seating was great! Perfect ending to a great day.
Unique place with excellent food!
OMG! What a unique place. The food is amazing here. We ate here 2 days in a row. We had the nachos with chirozo, beef and pork and the buttermilk chicken dinner. -Definitely worth our 15 minute wait to sit in one of the elevated tiki huts. -Walking distance from the historic district. We walked here from the Best Western Bayfront. I'm going to try and recreate those nachos at home, best we have ever had!
The best ahi tuna I ever had.
All of our meals were delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was a bit chilly and breezy so we sat inside for the first time and it was great! Good, friendly service, too! We'll be back.
Florida Seafood Exquisitely and Imaginatively Prepared
One of my favorite Florida seafood experiences! On this visit, I had Shrimp Anastasia: fresh local shrimp with mushrooms, tomatoes and prosciutto prepared in a delicious white wine butter sauce and topped with shaved Parmesan. Just amazing!!! My dining companions' choices included Lobster Mac n' Cheese, Gator Tail, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Rice ... there was not a lot of conversation during the meal, as everyone was really enjoying their choices! Service is fantastic. There's usually a bit of a wait for a table, but DEFINITELY worth the wait!
To management and/or owner, This past Saturday 3/16/2024 ,
To management and/or owner, This past Saturday 3/16/2024 , an unnecessary incident occurred at the Conch House bar. A friend and I, after returning from a fishing charter, went up the gangway into the outdoor/dock bar to grab five drinks (no signage observed of no outside drinks or food). When getting to the bar to order, a server said to my friend that had a drink from outside/fishing that he would have to put it in a cup, pour it out or leave. He said he was not going to put it in a cup. I asked him to go back down, and I would order. He left and while I was leaning on the flip-up portion of the counter trying to order, she forcefully said get out of my way and flipped the counter up, banging my arm (if you have video, you will clearly see it). Then she proceeded toward him where he was mostly down the gangway yelling exactly what I cannot say as I was trailing and a bit hard of hearing. He then gave her a middle finger. That was that, as we both and others were on the dock awaiting our catch to be cleaned by the charter personnel, a male bar employee came out yelling at my friend (way later, and he had not returned to the bar) get out of here in an aggressive manner with profanity. I am trespassing you and that you will leave one way or another (please be mindful my friend was on the lower boat dock). I will call the police. My friend then gave him the middle finger. The male bar employee yelled a bit more, and then went back into the bar. We all stayed on the lower dock waiting for the captain and crew to finish cleaning and bagging our catch. When done, we proceeded down the lower docks and up the gangway near the parking lot to be met by the same male bar employee yelling and coming toward our entire group in the police's presence that is him trespass him and again yelling get out of here. The officer told the bar employee to go away and asked us all to go out to the parking lot. The officer did what he was obligated to by trespassing my friend as a personal business employee had requested. Now, as the officer returned my friend's ID, he stated that after he first met the bar employee, he knew he was an aggressive, angry person but had to do his job by trespassing my friend as requested. That being said, my family and friends have celebrated birthday dinners and personally have had dinner with my immediate family many-many times without incident. However, there are many other establishments to visit and with the behaviours of these two employees and a bruised arm, I will never step foot in this restaurant or bar and would suggest to anyone reading to do the same. Our fun-filled day turned into an unpleasant experience for these two employees that will surely be experienced by future customers!
Always will be a favorite place to eat.
Lifetime local and I used to work at the Conch House, so I know how good the service is. I recommend it to anyone looking for lunch or dinner on the water.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! We took a large party on a Saturday
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! We took a large party on a Saturday night for my birthday celebration and the staff was more accommodating than we could have ever asked for! From the appetizers to our entrees, everything was fabulous and paced well, but the biggest shout out has to go to JAMIE. Although she was juggling multiple tables, she treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant. If you're looking for one of St Augustine's BEST waterfront dining experiences, look on further. The Conch House won't disappoint.
This was one of the most highly recommended places in Saint
This was one of the most highly recommended places in Saint Augustine & we were so excited to check it out. We waited longer for one of the tiki huts. Which I'm glad we did, it was totally worth it. We enjoyed the bar down by the water while waiting & it was awesome down there. We enjoyed the drinks especially their version of a Long Island iced tea. The food was all pretty underseasoned. Legit everything I tried needed a hefty amount of salt & pepper. From the fried shrimp, to the calamari, to the lobster bisque & the conch fritters. The banana pepper sauce with the calamari was killer. And we all loved the key lime pie. Will I be rushing back here? No Would I go back? Probably only if I was sitting in a tiki hut
We had Minorcan chowder and seafood chowder.
Both were very good. Also had the conch fritters as an appetizer ... excellent. Finished our dinner with cheese cake, delicious ... serving was so very large that we both couldn't finish it. Nice ambience overlooking the harbor. Our server was very friendly and took good care of us.
I gave 4 stars because of the view and atmosphere.
They have a few mini alligators in area that my son loved looking at. My husband liked his burger and fries. I got the Caribbean chicken pasta and was told you cant remove the mushrooms and soon found out why. Pasta was definitely premade. It was a huge portion that was mushy and there was no jerk flavor at all. My son got rice and beans and the coconut rice was pretty tasteless too. The tiki huts are awesome and staff was great but food was eh
It goes without saying the Conch House is a local favorite
It goes without saying the Conch House is a local favorite and it has a great waterfront view. It's a nice spot for larger parties that want to just hang out and have fun. I don't typically go for the food, but the food is good. The drinks are great and the ambiance is great. If you're traveling through St Augustine, you should definitely make time to have drinks here and enjoy the weather and beautiful scenery.
Came up to the conch house for lunch, we had 3 people and
Came up to the conch house for lunch, we had 3 people and had our 4th member of the party coming late that is also our close family. We said party of 4 please, we are just waiting on our last member that should be here soon. They told us that they could seat us but also made it very clear that our 4th member of the party won't be able to sit with us because she wasn't here yet. Didn't try and work with us or help us enjoy a nice day at their restaurant. Straight up just was telling us "no" with no solutions to help create a good dining experience. We already have had multiple bad experiences at the conch house with the service and the food but decided to give it another shot. Definitely will not be coming back again and would recommend plenty other water front restaurants in St. Augustine.
This is all I have to show.
Just an incredibly happy plate. This was the salt run catch of the day. Great view of the shoreline. Pretty short wait. Casual. We will definitely be back!
A great local St.
Augustine gem! The food is amazing, the ambience is like being on a tropical island, and the drinks are very tropical! Yet they have to bring back Reggae Sundays on the floating dock!
Must do
Great service, the server paced our meal perfectly. Drinks were delicious and the food was on point. They easily accommodated our family of 7. Kids enjoyed themselves as well and even tried new food.
You CAN go "home" (i.e. The Conch House) again!
I hadn't been to the Conch House for a great many years. Our Friends suggested we go for lunch. What a wonderful treat!!Thank you, Suzanne & Rick, for getting us back there.
What a fun evening!
The bartender at The Ice Plant recommended here for Minorcan chowder, that we wanted to try. This place is large, festive, tiki torch lit, and in a marina. We sat in a palapa outside. Our server Hannah was great. We shared a bowl of the chowder and a fried shrimp plate. The chowder was kind of like spaghetti sauce with conch and potatoes. The datil pepper sauce was more of a spicy ketchup. The addition of the sauce really spiced it up. The shrimp, slaw and fries were great, especially those fries!! Everything needed salt but there was plenty available. It was a delightful evening, made more so by Hannah. Thank you.
Delicious lunch in a great atmosphere
We wanted to have a nice lunch after we arrived. The Conch House was a few minutes' walk from our accommodation. We were given a very friendly welcome and had a nice table right by the harbor. My wife had a very tasty jerk chicken and I chose the "catch of the day", a flounder. Great quality with a great price-performance ratio. Highly recommended!!
Dinner at the Conch House
Charming restaurant for dinner. We had a very good meal and especially liked the corn fritters. Service was fast and friendly.
The worst experience ever!
The worst visit I ever had. Server was young and inexperienced but he was courteous and did everything he could to make our visit worthwhile. The g go old was very disappointing. We have been there several times and was as upset thst our food was cold, the shrimp was undercooked and so was the scallops. We asked for A-1 for my wife’s steak and they came back and said they were out of steak sauce. Really? Management is poor and the cooks were worse. I’m not going back (ever!)

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
