On a cold, rainy Sunday evening, we were excited to taste the culinary delights of a restaurant that engenders passion from many reviewers and a very high rating from TA. The first bad sign was the bread. Most Italian restaurants are famous for wonderful bread, usually required to finish off a great pasta dish. The grilled bread was grilled but bland, devoid of any appeal. Moreover, at the Cookery you are charged a premium for this unfortunate turn off. One of our part ordered the cauliflower ravioli. It was wonderful and worthy of high praise. Unfortunately, that was the only enjoyable dish. We ordered a simple, classic, although off the menu, alio-olio, past with garlic and oil. It was almost inedible. Further disappointment included an unfortunately recommended peanut butter chocolate dissertation that did nothing to embarrass a Reese’s candy bar. Finally, we suffered from a waitress wearing a coat and scarf who clearly wished she was anywhere else that evening.
