Was my neighbourhood go to
I used to love this place… Tonight I paid $25 for hamburger helper and 2 pieces of duck. They used to provide bread, now they charge for that too. The soup was good ! But they couldn’t give a cracker. I found it bad value and it was cold :(
Be the first to ReplyPub style (Welsh) fare and drinks
This is a Welsh pub with a good selection of local beers. The menu is quite extensive. Generally the service is friendly and prompt. All in all a good place to eat.
Be the first to ReplySurprise stop from not being able to get into the restarant across the street because they were closed.
Great food. And the waitress was very knowledgeable about Guelph and some of the interest points. We had the specials. Beef wellington pie and the Curry chichen pie. WOW so tender and the flavor.
Be the first to ReplyOrder should match the menu
We have been regular customers for dining in and more recently for take-out - ever since the pub opened. However, recent orders have disappointed: missing wings in 2 orders and inconsistent spiciness of sauces for the burger and curry pie.
Be the first to ReplyDo you know how to make a Cobb salad?
After waiting 45 mins for just a Cobb salad, it came with a bone in skin on chicken leg & piece of breast, along with 1/2” think candied bacon that you couldn’t eat. It was basically a bunch of greens with a boiled egg. Their chef needs to go back to school!!! Terrible service. Terrible food for what we paid.

Great pub atmosphere , good hearty food (very large portions) worth a visit but wouldn’t class it as a gastro pub. The service was good and the pub was busy

Ten of us were seated in a quiet area of this great establishment. Holly, our server, did a fantastic job of serving the drinks and food in a friendly efficient manner. It was a great evening with the extended family.
Be the first to ReplyNothing special
We were greeted upon entering, customer service was friendly from start to finish, always asking if we need anything. We came as a family as my husband wanted to try their wings. Wings were ok nothing to brag about, they were not hot seem bit cold. Kids meals were big portions for the price $9.99. Typical pub with old grumpy man and very young university waitresses. Would not recommend for a family with young kids. Bathrooms very outdated and nasty. $ 100 for 5 people not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyQuite good
Four of us visited last week for the first time in years..had a really nice dinner..it was packed on a Friday night with couples and families…nice vibe..wings super good, lots of great specials too. Not cheap but you get what you pay for…good service
Be the first to ReplySuch great food and service
First time here after moving into the neighbourhood last month and we WILL be back.
Holly was a great server with several helpful suggestions for us first-timers. Hand cut fries were to die for, as were the sandwich and soup specials of the day.
Overall, a really great visit to a really nice pub.
Watching the EURO CUP
The best to sit down have some beers and wings
Great costumer service experience.
Can't ask for more .
FAT DUCK RULES.
Favourite Restaurant for Quality Comfort Food
These folks know how to go above and beyond to serve up amazing made from scratch food. It blows me away how much time and energy they put into serving up a great meal which energizes my senses every time I visit. Starting with the hands on owners to the welcoming and attentive staff, they just make it such an enjoyable place to visit. My family and I appreciate the fact that the bar area, the expansive patio and the dining room are all seemingly searate areas to accomodate any mood or occation that brings us to their door. I tip my hat to all involved!
Be the first to ReplyGood service, yummy food
Hot butter chicken wings were out of this world! My 4 year old daughter really enjoyed her burger. Service was excellent. Nice ambiance too.
Be the first to ReplyReally good
We decided to go to go to The Fat Duck this past Thursday night for dinner. We ordered our beverages and an order of deep fried pickles, The pickles and dip were amazing. My son and I ordered the Steak and Mushroom pie which was huge and super tasty. I had the salad and he had the sweet potato fries as our sides. Hubby had the Monte Cristo and said it was awesome (the balls!!!!). We would very much recommend this restaurant and it was good value for the money.
Be the first to ReplyBest steak salad EVER
Went for lunch with an elderly friend and the staff was great in accommodating them both in seating and menu options. I had the best steak salad EVER. Even though it was the busy lunch hour, the staff didn't rush us and let us have the time to chat and eat our meal leisurely.
Be the first to ReplyA nice pub with nice food!
We went to this pub for the first time with another couple and were pleased with both the service and the atmosphere. Both ladies had the fish and chips which were well cooked and the mushy peas were a nice touch . My husband had the curried chicken pie which he loved and his friend had the steak and mushroom pie, which also was thoroughly enjoyed. This pub is not a chain and the chef seems to know his business. We will return.
We keep coming back... I
We keep coming back... I think this was our 3rd visit. We live an hour and a half from Guelph, so that’s saying something! My husband had the Indian platter and I had the curry special (tandoori butter chicken). I got the roasted tomato soup to start, so half of my butter chicken is coming home with me. Our 8 year old daughter ate all her Caesar salad and half her chicken fingers (real chicken, not prefab) - those are coming home too. All was great... we will return again next time in Guelph!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent pub food
The Fat Duck is a BUSY place. We got there at 5pm which was the only reason we were able to squeeze in without a reservation. If you're planning on going on the weekend MAKE A RESERVATION or you WILL be turned away. I guess that speaks to how good it is though.
The Caeser Salad was amazing. I loved the thick dressing and the literal chunks of bacon on it. My steak and mushroom pie was also excellent. I highly recommend this place for a fun casual night out with friends but it's also family friendly if you need that.
