Excellent and friendly staff, always great food.
So much flavor without the usual heaviness and unhealthy cooking styles used in most restaurants. Have now been several times and the food is consistently high quality. Would recommend this as your first choice for lunch or dinner in Belfast. Don't even think about going anywhere else!

We made reservations a month in advance to get a table at this popular restaurant. Lucky we did, as they were turning away walk-ins as we came in for our reservation. They have a typical menu, but also the ability to combine it for courses at a set price which we appreciated. We had the fried tiger prawns and the rare beef crispy salad to start. For mains, we had the roasted hake and the feather blade of beef. Everything was absolutely delicious, with an obvious focus on the quality of the ingredients. Lovely atmosphere with dim lighting and date night vibes. Great service and we had a wonderful night.

A cute bistro in Belfast! One of our cab drivers recommended for us to make a reservation for dinner and because this was one of his favorites. We had the pork belly entree and a cheese tray for dessert. A lot of food, very tasty and everyone was so friendly- our hostess, waiter and the 2 gals eating at the table next to ours.... Definitely recommend this restaurant to all who visit Belfast!

Amazing!! Innovative, interesting and delicious food!! Started with the smoked salmon appetizer as well as the pear, blue cheese and candied pecan appetizer and neither disappointed! Then on to the hake and seabass with patatas bravas entrees, so amazing and I'm not even a potato lover! The service is impeccable and extremely helpful!! This is a must while in Belfast!

The food was excellent!! I had the beef, which was tender and tasty accompanied with a soft, fluffy mashed potato. I also recommend the tender lamb chops! Fireworks in your mouth. Dessert was decadent! Service was great too and easily found a table for 4 without reservations.

Husband and I went here on our anniversary and we're not disappointed. They thankfully fit us in without a reservation and the other reviews were spot on. The food was delicious, the wait staff was phenomenal and very friendly and the food came out relatively quick for how busy they were. The adult beverages were also very tasty! Thanks for a great last meal in Belfast before we headed out to our next destination in the morning.

I had the scallops (excellent) and the lamb (very good). Good selection of beers on tap. Service was excellent for a party of nine (we had reservations) and serving sizes were just right. For dessert, we shared a selection and the toffee was outstanding. Prices were about what you'd expect for what is likely the best restaurant for miles.
Be the first to ReplyI have never been more satisfied with a meal before.
I happened to come in right before 4, which is when their lunch menu stops. Luckily they let me choose from their lunch or dinner menu! I had the pork belly and I was absolutely amazed. It was prepared brilliantly and the veggies and sauces it was served with? To die for. I also had the Siamese Sling to drink (recommenced by my server) also amazing! I would come back here on my next trip to Belfast.

Be the first to ReplyThis is long overdue.
I traveled frequently to Belfast and Ginger Bistro was a favorite. First, it was about the only place in Belfast where the bartender knew how to make an honest martini. They were always friendly and actually remembered me on return visits months apart. The dinners were great, but I really miss Gingers Squid and Dips.

A wonderful antidote to shepherds pies/stews or all those traditional Irish pub offerings - Ginger Bistro offers modern European fare in a big city chic setting. Great, healthy tasty vegetarian options and a great wine selection. If you are feeling any culinary homesickness in Belfast, run to the Ginger Bistro!

Outstanding seafood chowder and the crispy sea bass was equally tasty. Service was prompt, pleasant ,and attentive. Atmosphere in keeping with a bistro. Bathrooms clean. Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I had dinner at this bistro.
He had a fish soup and I had a butternut and they were both real good. His main course was lamb which he loved and mine was a steak which was so so. I had a whiskey sour that was very good and also a glass of red wine. My husband had a shot of Irish whiskey and also a glass of red wine which he also enjoyed. No dessert this time. Our waitress was excellent very attentive. I would suggest making reservations especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Belfast is a hopping town.
Be the first to ReplyPretty good little place.
A bit hard to find from the street as there is no sign directly on the main store front on the street. However, look for a large glass front with seats on the inside. Tasty little menu, very farm to table. If you're looking for authentic Irish food this is not the place to go. However it was good. I started with the French onion soup which came with a side of soda bread. It was very good and served piping hot. For my main course I had the lamb dish with a side of mashed potatoes. Again very tasty. While I certainly enjoyed my meal, ext time I pass through Belfast I would like to try something authentic.

Food was delicious, the fish soup starter with blackpudding was unique but really worked so well, I could have gone for another bowl. Had hake with red Thai curry and noodles for mains and it was delicious. Staff very friendly.
