THE GRILL New York Reviews from The Last Year
Always a winner.
My favorite steakhouse in NYC! Must must must get the Pasta a la Presse. I rarely order pasta, but I could eat my weight in that. Perfect to share with someone as an appetizer-- it's very hearty!
You like iconic New York.
..you like power lunch a la 1981...well, this is it. You feel like you stepped back in time when you go here...this harkens to the days when New York was the power center of the world. You are just waiting for Gordon Gekko to stroll across the room...it feels like that. The bar and dining room make you feel like you are about to embark on a great adventure and you can hardly wait...and fasten your seat belts because here it comes. As for the food, you don't need the menu here...order the avocado, crab salad to start and the prime rib. Both are their specialties and both the salad and prime rib are prepared at your table. The steak is served with beef bone, which they season and bake separately. Outstanding. While the food is great...what really makes this place is the ambience. It is the power center in New York and you need to go here every once in a while to remind yourself you are in the best city in the world. You want the kicker? Original Andy Warhols in the lobby. Yes...you are in New York! Service on point as always.
Phenomenal Service and Experience
We were welcomed by friendly staff, and waited in the busy bar with plently of servers and seating for the rest of our party. Absolutely excellent service from Jonathan. Well versed in the menu options and knowledgeable and well paced meal as he was attentive without being overbearing. We started with crabcakes and apple & endive salad. Then enjoyed the prime rib served tableside, and the filet peconic and peppered. The desserts were also delicious, having the lemon chiffon cake and the baked alaska. Pricey even for NYC but great atmosphere and phenomenal service, we will be back next time in NYC for sure.
It's pretty amazing all the way around.
The dining room is a true NYC classic space. The food was very good and service was excellent. It's expensive but worth it.
We had dinner at The Grill on Saturday evening to celebrate
We had dinner at The Grill on Saturday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL! To start a big thanks to Julia at MFG for organizing a special celebration. The evening itself was spectacular. My wife was greeted with bday wishes from the check-in desk and throughout the evening the staff went above and beyond to make the night a memorable one. The Grill room exudes timeless luxury and our meal was perfect. Crab cake, Pasta a la presse, Prime rib, Salmon and Baked Alaska were phenomenal. The staff is talented, knowledgeable and enhanced our dining experience with all their table side preparation. It really is dinner and a show! We've lived in NYC for many years and can easily say The Grill is one of the best restaurants and dining experiences. We look forward to returning.
My sons and I celebrated my 70th birthday at The Grill last
My sons and I celebrated my 70th birthday at The Grill last Saturday. It was such a wonderful experience. From check in to the servers the people were top notch. Very friendly as well as being efficient. The food was delicious, but what made the restaurant stand out was the delivery. It was like going to the theater. I had looked up dishes and picked those that had some kind of table presentation. They did not disappoint. I remember the Grill Room from the 90s so it was a bit nostalgic for me and that added to my enjoyment. If you want a super special dinner this is the place. All this is quite expensive, but worth it.
I'd like to first say that the service, drinks and ambiance
I'd like to first say that the service, drinks and ambiance was great. Very old New York in terms of the service delivered. What I was not impressed with was that the taste of the food was very average for the cost. I have had much better food in the village for a fraction of the price. One other item was the feeling of being rushed through my dinner making my dinning experience uncomfortable at times. My suggestion to anyone considering this restaurant is to know that you're paying a premium for an average dining experience. With so many great options. I probably won't be go back.
Amazing food, the best professional service, thank you Jhon
Amazing food, the best professional service, thank you Jhon we had an amazing time, food, wine, and the place are definitely a unique experience.
Fantastic birthday
The food -- Pasta a la Presse and Seagram Crabcake appetizers, New York Strip main with Hashbrown O'Brien and Grits sides -- was excellent. Sat at the bar beforehand and had a couple (very strong) good Old Fashioneds, waiting for a booth table. Service was impeccable, the setting and atmosphere are memorable. Though the prices are, admittedly, over the top, we would definitely come here again.

I went to the grill with my fiancé and friends after he proposed to celebrate. It's truly an elevated dining experience that makes the night special. The women's restroom has a lounge with beautiful vanity mirrors. The pasta a la presse was a highlight of the night because it was delicious but also because it was prepared table side with an explanation of its origin. The bread for the table had a lot of variety and was delicious. For my entree I had the lobster which was beautiful and tasted divine. The baked Alaska is a must for dessert since it's set ablaze at the table! If you're having trouble making a reservation we were able to secure ours with the Dorsa app.
This review is for dinner.
Came here on a Friday evening for an early Valentine's Day celebration. It's pricey and a bit old school (think, 70 year old white men - we were one of the youngest diners), but overall I enjoyed my meal and would recommend. I think it's a good option for a celebration (birthday, anniversary, etc.) Ambiance / Service: has slightly "Mad Men" vibes - waiters in bow ties, dark wood etc. Some of the decor feels a bit outdated, but overall it's more traditional/ fancy. I would definitely recommend dressing up for dinner. It's pretty lively too - we left around 10pm and it was still packed. Service was good, but slow. Food: we ordered too much and split the below amongst two. Overall all the food was really good. Quite pricey for some of what you get, but that's to be expected. -50g Caviar: yummmm. Comes tons of sides (crème fraise, chives, onion, boiled egg, tiny hashbrowns, blinis, and mini toasts). -3 oz Crab Leg: this was a special. Meat is already taken out for you. Comes with 3 sauces. It was good, but not worth $95. Hard to picture what 3 ounces of crab would be like, but it was TINY, especially to share. -Pasta a la Presse: get this, even just for the experience. They partially make table side with a crazy contraption that looks like it's from the early 1900's. Hard to describe the flavor - very rich, has a smokiness to it almost like BBQ. Perfect size to split between 2. -The Seagram Crab Cake: loved. Thin crispy potato topper was so good. Probably would need 2 if sharing with 4 people. -Ribeye: cooked and seasoned perfectly. Love the roasted garlic that comes with it. -Honey Mustard Duckling: cooked perfectly. The skin is delicious. Honestly was one too many dishes we ordered though. -Hashbrown o Brien: good side dish. -Caramel Apple Stack: not too sweet. Very dense and moist. Almost has a pound cake consistency. It was decent, but didn't blow me away. Not sure I'd order again.

Epic! The only word I can think of to describe this dining experience. Food, service and ambiance all combined for a "great Gatsby" experience. Jessica treated us like VIPs. Ulysses was an excellent waiter and made my birthday celebration memorable. Libby the sommelier was in point with the pairings. Thanks you!!!!!

The Grill somehow manages to thread the needle of "fancy," "theatrical," and still "relaxed." The ambience is refined, the service is exceptional, and, despite being served by people in tuxedos and seeing your food being presented in a trolley with a silver dome, you still feel relaxed and able to enjoy the meal. And the food is delicious. We shared: tuna ravigote (refreshing, light), pasta a la presse (the definition of "theatrical," and also very rich in flavor), honey mustard duckling (crispy skin, tender meat, mustard sauce with a delightful kick to it), and the prime rib (amazing texture and flavor). For dessert, I recommend the lemon chiffon and the cruller. Drinks are strong. Highly recommend for a special dinner; it's an experience you won't forget.

The Best! My favorite restaurant on planet earth right now.
Service Ambiance Food Cocktails. A+ Rare 5 star review
Beautiful room.
Beautiful surroundings, fantastic staff, beautiful food. Lovely wine. I do think $18 is steep for fries but the rest of the food and wine good value for what we ate.
Had a beautiful experience with impeccable service.
While all the main dishes were delicious, the sides were a bit on the dry side.
I love everything about The Grill.
The food is exceptional, ambiance and service. Top 3 favorite consistent restaurant in NYC
Distinguished dinner endeavour!
Great restaurant for food and architecture enthusiasts. Located in the former Four Seasons restaurant space it still remarkably preserved the historic gastronomic flavor of 1959 (good mannered and dressed staff, many dishes prepared and celebrated with trolley service right at the table, traditional Mies van der Rohe architecture). Truly a New York favorite!

To be in the historic Seagram building, in the architecturally preserved former Four Seasons restaurant ( now@thegrillny), viewing the legendary bar & its epic chandelier, is, to quote Ferris Bueller, so choice ( chef's kiss). What a beautiful venue. Foods? Don't remember much about it though.
Worst welcoming/coat check experience ever
Food and dining room service was great but what a terrible check in/welcome team. Both the coat check and reservations desk were making you feel like you come to Tao or any cheap restaurant. No smile and no high standard. I will not come back just because of that.

5/5! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something more on the upscale fine dining. The service, ambiance, interior was amazing. The staff were super helpful and friendly. On top of everything else the food was delicious and amazing. Everything I ordered was top notch. I highly recommend getting the duck ! It was super tender and juicy. The tuna was very fresh and the sauce went very well with it. They had a white truffle pasta special and it was to die for!
Absolutely spectacular, every time I've been.
The prime rib is always spectacular and a must-have item. My most recent trip I also had the scallop snail fricasee, the pasta, the honey mustard duckling, and the hunter style mushrooms (which is easily the best way to get the mushrooms). All were amazing. Service was top-notch. I mentioned we were splitting everything when we ordered and without us even asking they split every dish (that could be) into two plates. If you're looking at this place to be "new and different" any time you go, it won't be. The menu has been more-or-less the same since I first went 6 years ago, which is spectacular but rarely anything new. I also think that my better meals have been with smaller parties, and that it's been significantly less enjoyable with anything more than 4 people.

The Grill has beautiful interiors and stellar service, simply making it a top choice for a very special occasion. On the food end, I wasn't particularly blown away especially considering the price but everything was definitely of top quality.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
