The first thing that attracted me to the place was the Service. Destiny was the most welcoming, and attentive hostess. She made us feel very comfortable even though we were not properly dress. The food was amazing, best Mexican food I had ever had. The ambience was superb, the location, decor, and presentation was impeccable, Carlos M. Our waiter was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and informative about all the food choices. Amazing experience!!!!!!
The server took forever to take the first course order.
The appetizers took forever to come to the table and so did the food order. When the food arrived it was very cold and had to be sent back. I complained to the manager, and he was ambivalent about the problem and never offered any apologies. We will never come back.
Was here in 2022 and again 2024.
Drinks were great with good presentation but food was okay. There was complimentary chips and sauce which was delicious! The beef taretare was tasty. Everything else was okay. I had to use the sauces from the chips and add them to my bone marrow tacos as it was lacking in flavor. Good ambiance and the female restroom was beautiful. The tres leches cake was delicious. Servers had good personality except it took them a while to bring out the check. Highly recommend making a reservation as it gets packed. There is complimentary valet service unless you choose to do street parking.

I was in town briefly for a business trip and was looking for something special. We definitely found it at The Mexican. Fantastic service, delicious drinks, and the food was spectacular. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an elevated take on Mexican.
Restaurant runs smoothly.
Always someone working their way around dining room to refill drinks/bus tables. Guac and barbacoa tostaditos were great. Red snapper tacos were amazing, wouldn't change a thing. Seafood trio enchiladas were very fresh. Quatro leches was a win. Truffle parm fries are just regular pre-frozen fries with no truffle flavor. Not a bad fry, just not a truffle parm fry. Only complaint is that velvet booth seating was very stained and dirty- not what I would expect from this kind of place.
The intricacies of reservationsโผ I understand that
The intricacies of reservationsโผ I understand that balancing walk-ins and reservations to maximize revenue can be challenging. An unexpected event occurred to our family while in route to dinner that caused them to be an hour late. We sat at our table for 1hour (table 51) waiting for them. Upon their arrival, the server came over to our table and in a rude manner, proceeded to say: are you finally ready to order food and drinks because this table is reserved for others and we had to accommodate them at a different table? Excuse me? Would you like for me to leave or are you OK with us ordering food? Dear server was it necessary to say this? because at this point you could have simply asked us to leave in a more direct way. Was it your idea or management? Please let me know so I can better understand.Look forward to hearing from you
Food was great.
Service was good. Sadly had to wait for 15 mins for valet to bring my car.

OMG the best 1st experience at this place! Sosa which was our waiter made our atmosphere feel so pleasant and at home. Everyone in this restaurant has the best customer service from the valet to the busboy and not to mention the food! Everything we ordered to eat was amazing and had a great flavors, I applaud the bartender who made our drinks and the chef who made our delicious and wonderful food. I would visit every chance I get
Great food and drinks.
I enjoyed the service and the atmosphere for a Friday date night.

Don't know if I can say any of the food was amazing other than the chocolate cake. The sea-bass ceviche was just ok, the steak was just ok, the truffle fries were just ok. My drink however, was nice and strong. The restaurant itself is so beautiful and the restrooms are nice, big, and full of different mirrors and lighting (they knew what they were doing cause my girls and I love mirror selfies)! In addition to the ambiance I would like to add that the service made up for the food as he was very informative with any questions we had. One thing I thought was a bit weird was that they told us we couldn't split the check into 2. It wasn't a big issue, I just thought it was weird, as someone who's been in the restaurant industry all my life.

I came here for my birthday this year with a few friends and it was a great experience and a special shout out to our server Brian or maybe Bryan (great customer service and he would recommend things and tell us his opinion about certain things that made it easier to chose what to eat and drink)

Finally! An upscale restaurant in Dallas worth the menu
Finally! An upscale restaurant in Dallas worth the menu prices! I may have just gone through a bad streak of upscale restaurants since I've moved here. But it has been a struggle. Tried this place out for a birthday dinner and it didn't disappoint. Apps were fantastic. Main dishes were yummy. Dessert was worth the coma. The menu might be a little difficult to interpret. But they write the English translations under the dish titles for those of us who aren't cultured enough to understand what it means (me). Parking might be difficult. Just don't waste your time. Just use the valet. They won't seat you until your entire party is present. So tell your party to be on time. Us brown folk like to be late. Tell them the reservation is 30 minutes earlier than the actual. There's a 15 min grace period then you're SOL. Don't be that party. They have a "members only" cigar bar. Which is unfortunate and kinda elitist. But whatever makes them feel fancy. Just go there for the food like the rest of us common folk and smoke a joint when you get home. It'll be the same exact experience. Why do I give this a 5 star? Look - be snooty and elitist all you want. Just make sure the food I'm paying for and the service that comes with it is worth the hype and more. Can't tell you how many upscale places around here serve you trash and then give you a bill for it. All in all. Great place. Cool interior. Fantastic service. 10/10 recommend.
I couldn't even step past the door and these people judge
I couldn't even step past the door and these people judge on what I wore, I don't approve. I just came back from a cheer competition and got kicked out and my kids were starving and just wanted food. Never been dress coded in my life except here.I ended up at chick fil a but I'm not disappointed cause anything is better than "the mexicain" Valet took forever to get our car to us. Even though we were only there for 3 minutes. From what i hear to is just had reviews and overpricing.
This spot has been getting a lot of buzz around Dallas
This spot has been getting a lot of buzz around Dallas lately, but in my opinion it is a little overpriced. Appetizers: GUACAMOLE DIVORCIADO ($16): avocado, tomato, white onions, cilantro, serrano, tortilla chips - quite a small portion for the price in my opinion, but I loved how citrusy the guac was. AGUACHILE DE RIBEYE ($26): seared american wagyu ribeye cap, avocado, citrus, onions, radish, cilantro, truffle oil - honestly this was my favorite thing we had. If I was to come back it might just be to get this appetizer and some drinks. Entrees: SALMON PIQUรN ($44): ora king salmon, lime rice, grilled asparagus, mostaza piquรญn sauce (Dijon mustard based sauce) - a solid meal but not worth the price tag. I understand this restaurant doesn't specialize in fish but I just wish the overall quality as a bit higher for the price. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The parking situation is less than ideal for who a girly who likes to self park, as it is valet only (tips encouraged). All in all if you've really been wanting to try this spot out it would be great for a birthday or anniversary celebration as it is an elevated dining experience.
The Mexican Marg, Amor Pasionado Marg, Crispy Pork Belly,
The Mexican Marg, Amor Pasionado Marg, Crispy Pork Belly, Queso Fundido, Lobster Elote, Fries, Salmon Piquin, Black Angus Tacos, Chocolate y Pepitas This was probably my favorite meal at The Mexican so far! (Probably in large part because we each had a very high food budget limit for the night hehe). The mexican marg was super strong, but the servers were kind enough to swap it out for the much sweeter Amor Pasionado Marg, which was yummy. Crispy Pork was tasty and cooked well, but very heavy. Queso fundido was confusing--they like mix it up tableside and stuff it into the tortillas. Was just okay. Lobster elote and fries were pretty good. Salmon piquin was incredible--so perfectly cooked and on a bed of citrus-y rice, so so good. Black Angus tacos were delicious. Chocolate cake was absolutely disgusting--do NOT order this. Absolutely inedible, so dry and with the nastiest frosting and toppings, idk who made this and decided it was okay to serve. This was my first time dining in the general space (previous visits were always in private rooms), and it was a really pretty interior, albeit a little loud. Friendly and attentive severs. Valet is tip only

I have been here 5 times now and every time has been wonderful. The staff is always very welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Id recommend the filet and bone marrow tacos and the campechana.
Went there for my birthday and had an amazing time.
The waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and said it was my birthday. At the end of our meal they brought me the biggest and best Tres Leche cake I've ever had times 1000. The atmosphere is stellar, service was outstanding, food was great ... perfect evening. Thank you and we shall return!

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, apps were amazing and the tacos were incredible. Definitely go there hungry. Drinks were good as well and the cigar lounge was big and had a good selection of cigars. Highly recommend!
The entire dinner was not good.
Ambiance is the only thing I would give a good rating. The food and the service were so bad I found myself thinking it could not get worse.... but it just kept getting worse. To begin, I am always the kind of person to look at the yelp page for a restaurant and the actual restaurant website so I can get a feel for what is about to happen. From the yelp, to the website, to the instagram, I was excited! I noticed on the website that there was a dress code, so I checked on the instagram to fact check, and yes, everybody was dressed up! I obliged! I love dressing up. First let down. We get there and, immediately, I see people wearing just regular jeans, sandals, tops, kids in ripped jeans (kids in general), and I was like... oh. so we aren't upholding standards of what we said. Then, theres a big coat check by the host stand. 2/3 people in my group have coats, nobody came up to offer to check them and the stand was empty. Hm. We are being led to our table, and lovely! We get sat at a table pushed too far against the serving station, where servers, server assistants, bussers, and food runners milled about throughout the dinner, bumping into me, hitting me with trays, and gossiping. Okay, where is one upside to this? Maybe being so close I am rubbing elbows with them they will give good service? Nope. I come from a family who has owned restaurants and bars, and I myself have worked in all positions: host, busser, expo, runner, server, and bartender. I have also worked in extreme fine dining. This place.... everything was close, but no cigar. Lazy was what I would say. For the price I am paying, I would expect the server to not only cross his t's and dot his i's, I want extreme detail! It began when the server asked "sparkling water or tap?" can't you just ask "still or sparkling?" Then, one of us specifically asked for tito's and topo, no soda gun. She got tito's and soda from the gun. We bit our tongues. Then, we did not see our server for so long, we had to ask a passing person to please grab him so we could order appetizers. I said I wouldn't dabble with a food review, but I need to mention that I have never once asked for salt, and here I did. As I am salting my appetizer, the entire salt grinder pops open and spills all over my food, my place, and me...... the grinder top was not screwed on correctly. Nobody checked before dinner service started? Then, to clean it up, they began to use their hands right in front of my lap to brush salt off of the table. No crumbers? By this point, my water and my drink are both empty, I am annoyed because I have salt everywhere, and my server still has not checked in since he took our appetizer order...... Again, we had to call somebody over to order second drinks. I know how this went, this guy put in our drinks and then probably found our server to let him know that we ordered through him, so now he runs over to check on us because he got caught forgetting about us. When he comes back, he takes our orders. This whole time, he has not been writing anything down, but okay, there's only three of us, our meals had no substitutions, so no biggie, I guess he can remember. Wrong! About 10 minutes later, he comes up to double check what I wanted to order for dinner. I understand just double checking, but 10 minutes later? Were you just now putting in our order ten minutes later? Anyways, at this point, our salsa flight is empty, no refills on that, and our appetizer plates and tapas plates are empty and dirty, our silverware placed at 4 o'clock to signify we were finished, and still, none of the people walking by us pick them up. We had to ask somebody to finally do it. Then, instead of getting a try and a tray stand, they stacked all the plates in their hands, and wobbily took them back. A fine dining no-no. I shouldn't even get into the rules of actually serving and clearing, which hands to use (serve left from left, serve drinks right from right, clear right through right, never carry more than one item in each hand), who gets served first (setting 1 female, then counter clockwise in positions for the rest of the females, then repeat with males, and never ever reach across a table), etc. because it seemed these workers knew none of it. If they did, they did not want to do it for us. The last straw was that I had not received a water refill in over 30 minutes, so I used some of the topo chico that we ordered in our second and third rounds of drinks to refill my glass. As we are finishing dinner, the server finally came around with water and topped off my glass while my hands were up and trying to tell him not to. I explained he just poured still water in my topo chico! Instead of offering to get me a new one, he just got a fresh glass and poured the dregs of the last bottle at our table (which costs a whopping $15 a bottle there) instead of getting me a new one, considering he just wasted around $8 of the bottle. Ugh. The night was abysmal.
Delicious food
We chose a random place to have a drink and were not disappointed. Our waitress was great, Pantera, she took great care of us the entire time. The chips and salsa were pretty good! The mango margaritas were 10/10! And the street tacos were a 10/10 too! We went on a Sunday and there is a good amount of parking available! They have enough TVs to watch sports and the service is great!
Disappointing food & drinks.
Great location in a hip area. Food and drinks were very disappointing. Bland. Overpriced. Not worthy of their hope.
Amazing!
Service was so quick, we were never without food or drinks on the table. The food is amazing, would highly recommend
Marijuana Reeks not allowed
I read where if you smell of marijuana you are not welcomed in this establishment. But I guess if you reek of alcohol, youโre a pill popper youโre welcome anytime
Late night AND Amazingly authentic Tex Mex!
What a pleasent surprise! Got in late and was hungry, finding open options at 1030 at night that isnt fast food is hard to find, but we saw this place on Yelp and so glad we tried it! Their tortillas were delicious, their tacos were authentic and prepared perfectly! Do not hesitate. Super casual, but that makes it even better! Side note, we had a amazing server that gave us some great tips about other places to try!
So so
What's the big deal? Was not impressed. Just another joint out of many. Nice atmosphere but food nothing special.
Jorge makes great tacos!
I've been to E Bar once before and I loved it, so I went today for a second visit. We got there as they were opening, so not busy yet. They seem to have plenty of parking, there is parking adjacent to the restaurant and I believe there is also parking in a lot directly across the street. I've only ever sat inside, but they do have patio seating which I believe is air conditioned. They have a lot of Banquette seating, which I don't care for, particularly when the tables are spaced where you have to squeeze between tables to get in or out, and theirs are pretty close together. That's just a personal peeve, which doesn't sway my opinion on their food, because the food is great! Our server was relatively new (I heard him tell the table next to us how long he'd been there) and he was upbeat, attentive and did a great job, checking on us and keeping our glasses full. We split an order of Jorge's Tacos, you get four to an order which you can pick your combo (we had Brisket (2), Carnitas, Beef Fajita). I have to say we had them on our previous visit and they are AWESOME! They are pan fried and have cheese, cilantro, jalapeno and onion...Yum!! There was one disappointment on this visit, which was that we ordered Chicken Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce and what we got were Cheese Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce. We really wanted to try the Chicken Enchiladas because we'd tried the Cheese Enchiladas when we were there previously. Having said that, we didn't bother our server to get that error in our order corrected, in part because he was busy and in part because they have pretty amazing Cheese Enchiladas and they were even more AMAZING with their Tomatillo Sauce. I have to add that they ranks way up there on my list as it was pretty perfect, it had the perfect amount of tangy that makes the sauce. Our ticket showed that error wasn't on the servers part, because it did show Chicken Enchiladas, so just a error in the kitchen and we enjoyed every bite of everything they put in front of us...so all good! I'd recommend them and I'll definitely be going back as they may be moving their way up to the top of my most favorite Tex-Mex restaurants.
What is all the fuss?
Arrived at 5pm thinking it would not be busy that early. I was wrong. Got a table before too long tho. Salsa was not good. Spicy catchup at best. Chips seemed like store bought. Meals took 40 minutes to serve after the order. W it wasnโt the servers fault. She was attentive. Quality of the food was good but not great. Drinks were ok. Canโt figure out what the great ratings are all about.
Fantastic! Best food and service.
We can't wait to go back! From the drinks to the dessert... yum!

I went for a work meeting, but the place is ideal to celebrate any special occasion. They have an extensive menu. I had the El Rey margarita, which had the perfect spicy touch. Our waitress Massiel helped us choose the perfect dishes and her attention was 10/10 ask for her if you go. We closed our dinner with La Campechana and it couldn't have been better!
Absolute A+.
Visiting from out of state. Food, atmosphere and service were all above and beyond. Destiny was our server and was superb. We couldn't have had a better experience. Place is packed on a Tuesday night. Clearly a place that everyone knows about. We loved.
great food but quite expensive.
it's a in crowd type of place. no parking but valet is there to park your car. appetizers are really good. they have a great selection of tequilas too

This PLACE is AMAZING! Food 100%, Service 100%, and Ambiance 100%! You won't regret this place... true 5 star restaurant !
Exceptional service, unique delicious food and drinks.
We sat in the bar lounge area and the music was a tad loud to talk and hear one another across the table, but overall a great experience.

It's not easy to get a seat here, but we usually eat at the bar anyway. The bar staff are always very busy but nice and informative. The hosts can be nice and welcoming depending on who it is. They're not always the most friendly if you don't have a reservation. All the appraisers are great. I wouldn't recommend anything from the main courses. They have to idea how to prepare and cook a steak. It was flavorless and disappointing. So if you want a good drink and some appetizers in an seemingly upscale place, this would be a decent choice. But not for diner.
not gonna lie, kind of felt like royalty here.
They put your napkin on your lap, they put your guacamole on your chips, they refill your water every few minutes. The service was excellent. My biggest qualm was serving size for the price. it's a pretty place and they have complimentary valet parking
We went to celebrate my sister's birthday.
Great atmosphere! Great food! We had a great time!

Birthday celebration, this place was great! Can't wait to go back! Wait staff was attentive and the food was great. Had the Guacamole with Ribeye, Prawns, Chicken Enchiladas, Rice and Beans!
Vibe is cool, food is below average.
I got the verde chicken enchiladas and they were probably the worst I've ever had. For the meal being $30+ the meal was two enchiladas with no sides??? Service was slow, we did have a large group but our food came out probably 2 hours after ordered, not exaggerating. Stats are for drinks and atmosphere
Food is AMAZING.
Valet was dangerous. Dining room was so loud (primarily from the obnoxious table of women next to us)
We had a business dinner there with a party of 9.
Service was sluggish, and we were astonished with how it ended. We waited seemingly forever to order our main courses. Wine pouring was sketchy--I had to keep asking our server to pour, even pointing out people at the table whose glasses needed refills. We never saw any of our bottles get emptied. I believe some just remained idled as our wine service lacked. And then the surprise: We were told that our party of 9 had not spent enough. We had spent "only $820" and we were "contracted" to spend $1000. I was astonished. The person whose staff made the reservation was then presented with the "contract," with his name brightly displayed on it, and all sorts of fine print below it. Right in front of the whole table.Unfortunately all at the table witnessed me asking how we might up-spend our contractual obligation. It was embarrassing and unprofessional. And greedy. If you cannot make enough money by feeding people what is on your menu, you can't just walk up to them and tell them that they need to order more. We had had 3 guacamoles, several cocktails, 9 main courses, a bottle of Champagne, a white wine, and an expensive magnum of red. And that was not enough?I've never seen or heard of a restaurant doing this. You can expect it if you bring a large party here.
Great food, ambiance is fenomenal!!! It's a little bit
Great food, ambiance is fenomenal!!! It's a little bit pricey but it's worth it. You definitely have to make reservations or you wont get a table unless you are a famous personality and even still may not get one.My wife had the filet mignon and I had the lobster enchiladas.
They should change the name to: Do as I say, Not as I do.
Pulled up because we were in the mood for Mexican food. Wanted to try this out. From the moment we pulled into valet, where we had to wait forever, to walking in and being greeted with: please remove your cap (before Good Evening or Hello). That def set the tone. Understanding the dress code, the cap was removed with no problem whatsoever. We were seated, the waitress was good. Attentive and very accommodating. A larger group walks in. One gentleman had a cap on. Same as me. He was never asked to remove it. One of the managers spoke to their group for several minutes. Laughing and carrying on. I decided to put my cap back on. I figured; it must be OK. No, the waitress came and immediately asked me to remove. I pointed out the other guest and told her I assumed it was okay. She let me know it was not. I removed it again. This time a little frustrated. A manager came over to tell me the rule is no caps. No exceptions! This was the same manager that was speaking and laughing with the other group. I asked why it was okay for the other guest. I did not want the other guest to have to remove his, I simply wanted the same treatment. The real disrespect came when the manager stated he had no idea the other guest was wearing a cap. It was a joke, and honestly quiet the insult, for him to claim he didn't see anyone else wearing a cap. It was clear he knew the other table personally and so he was making an exception. Talk about unfair treatment and double standards. It's a shame we had to walk out simply because the rules didn't apply to all customers. While we sat prior to the nonsense, we had an appetizer and a drink. I will say one of the drinks was good, the other was not. The appetizers were not very good or flavorful and of course, everything was way overpriced. The Mexican who owns this place needs to get his people on the same page. Make sure they know what blatant favoritism and unjust circumstances look like. This will not fly with other guests. I can't wait to read another review like this as I'm sure this will continue to occur if only personal friends are treated this "special" way.Signed,Another Mexican (who will not be insulted, disrespected and demeaned)
A lovely dining experience, you can tell that they care
A lovely dining experience, you can tell that they care about the details! From the coat check upon entry to the amazing decor, it's the small touches that make this dining experience grand! We really enjoyed the variety of salsa/hot sauces brought to the table- again, presentation on point! Instead of the traditional appetizers, we shared the Lobster Elote with The Mexican Chopped salad; both really good decisions! Between the salsa, "appetizers" and drinks we were almost full- but pushed through and ordered entrees. I had the White Prawns A La Roca which is served on a hot plate with peppers and crispy kale (comes with tortillas and a side of rice and beans). Think shrimp fajitas, but elevated! Important note: The prawns are prawns, not jumbo shrimp! My friend ordered the Camarones enchiladas, which he said were simple yet delightful. Overall it was a really nice experience, emphasis on experience. The ambiance coupled with attention to details, attentive waitstaff and dope decor make the delicious food even better!!!! Definitely a nice spot for celebrations, date night or just a random evening when you feel like being on scene and enjoying delicious food and libations! Get dressed and show up. FIVE STARS

Service was amazing! We sat at the bar while we waited for our friends & table to be ready. The bartender made us several off menu drinks that were amazing!!Our waitress was attentive when we were sat. Both appetizers were tasty but get stuck in your teeth! Shirmp & scallops were seasoned well. I would order again. Our friends got the tacos & said they were the best they've ever had. Hubs got steak. I didn't taste it but did taste the Pearl onions & yum!
20% on FIVE or more?!?!?!
Beware, they add 20% auto grat on tables of FIVE or more. Ive never heard of that. Its very easy to miss on the menu and on the bill, which I'm betting they are counting on. So, I double tipped. When I noticed my mistake (I accidentally got home with the bill instead of my credit card receipt) I called and asked to speak to the manager. She said (Im paraphrasing) tough tacos!!! We for sure won't be back.
Busy place, good food
We enjoyed the food and generous portions, reasonably priced. It is a popular, casual and busy place even during the week, quite noisy at times.
