The Ordinary Charleston Reviews
Service was impeccable, and the seating outside was nice.
They were very accommodating to two kids -- the children's menu was great and they brought out a little raw plate of fruit and veg for the kids as well while we waited. Everyone agreed the drinks were great and the food was good. Nothing to rave

I have no words on what to say.
Me and my wife went here for our anniversary and it is the best seafood restaurant I've ever had hands-down 10/10.
They haven't lost their touch
We recalled this restaurant as one of the highlights from a prior trip in 2017. In the years since, it's been features on TV shows and in magazines so we were hopeful when we returned. The surpassed our recollection and expectations. Our server
A really great experience.
Our server was great, friendly knowledgeable, she really made things easy. The Hawaiian roles were so good!! We tried all three types of oysters, i personally liked the dressed the best. The vinegary gardinera (sp) had just the right amount of tang

Overpriced and TINY portions
The place is overrated. Prices are expensive, portions are tiny, service is just ok. The location is convenient and the place is nice but you are better off going to Hall’s for better food and a nicer experience
Not ordinary, just extraordinary
The Ordinary isn't an ordinary seafood restaurant and oyster bar. It is an extraordinary eatery where ingredients are sourced from local and regional fishermen, oystermen, crabbers and farmers. Located at 544 King Street, in an old bank building
I came here because this is a top restaurant in Charleston.
I don't partake in oysters and instead chose to eat the selected fish. The swordfish was a good dish presented with a vegetable medley broth. The dishes here are smaller portion and this seemingly would be a great choice for someone who likes to

This was the highlight of our weekend trip.
The food, the service, the atmosphere, the drinks, everything was top of the line. Michael was our server and not only went through every item on the menu for what was dairy free or could be accommodated to dairy free, he was helpful, hysterical and
Amazing place.
My wife and I really, really loved it, and we've eaten at most of the better restaurants in Charleston.

Bad oysters - shocking in this town.
beware, our table was sick after this dinner. Service was okay.
Absolutely superb!!!
We go here several times a year … and it seems to improve every time we come. Both in food and service. Well, the wine list could afford some more Napa Cabs … but not bet either. What really stands out is the food. Every dish we had was superb. S
Happening Place!
From the moment we walked in the door, The Ordinary was alive and buzzing. So, if you want a quiet, chatty dinner, you may want to choose a different restaurant setting. However, if you want an energetic setting, this is your place. We enjoyed a se
So underwhelming for the premium price
Came here from a recommendation. Portions were tiny. Ordered Stone Crab. Probably frozen. Wagu Tar Tar was ok Grouper was 4 oz for $50, nothing special.
Great Food & Atmosphere
The food was delicious and the building was once a bank with high vaulted ceilings. We ordered the crispy oyster sliders and I had the wreckfish which was tender and cooked to perfection.
Disappointed
Disappointed! Was here a few years ago and this wasn’t the same experience at all. The service was mediocre. The menu is extremely limited so you would think that ever item would be spectacular. The shrimp in the peel’n eat shrimp were only large
Great experience
We love our experience, they have a good menu with sea food but also excellent steak option. They take food allergies serious and are very respectful about it. We didn’t have a reservation but I strongly recommend you to reserve a table because the
3 cold entrees
I went there with 2 other college friends. We ordered 3 different entrees and split them up before tasting them. All 3 entrees were cold! Shame on us for not sampling them before we split them. I could go on with other issues. 3 drinks and 3 cold
Over rated!
A very average meal at very high prices. Ambience is loud and cold. Hoping for much more. Very surprised at the ratings. We will not return.
Best in Town!
We've been coming to Charleston for many years now and I'm confident in saying The Ordinary is the best restaurant in town. First, the vibe of the restaurant is amazing. It is in an old bank building and the minute you walk in you know the place is

Disappointing experience
The Ordinary has some delicious dishes (smoked oysters and swordfish schnitzel are 2 of our favorites) but on our most recent visit we had a $750 bill for 4 guests (1 bottle of wine, 1 round of drinks + food), and found the portions to be very small,
Ordinary
Cocktails were underrated, house martini with too much vermouth and the Pachego&son cocktail was different but confusing flavors and overall not good. We started with the seafood tower, oysters very good, the fish salad it comes with was chewy an

This restaurant is awesome.

This restaurant is far from ordinary.
They pay attention to even the smallest details. Restaurant is large but still feels intimate. What a great place to take a date or have a business dinner. The menu itself is relatively small, seafood focused. I started with some oysters and fini
Delicious and NOT Ordinary
We had a lovely meal here. We had an early reservation and the place was still full with a great vibe. High quality service to match the food (and prices) Definitely a special occasion restaurant for us. The stunner was a Maryland fish cake over pick
A waste of a LOT of money for an average experience
Not worth the exorbitant tab. While this seafood restaurant has solid service and a few tasty menu items, you will leave with a massive hole in your pocket, disappointed that you’re still hungry after averaging well over $100 per person for a sligh
Perfect dinner
This is a restaurant that you absolutely have to visit in Charleston. Be sure to reserve in good time. Very good food, especially fish and seafood, very friendly service. A very nice ambiance in a former bank. Place where you must have been.
Aptly named.
This place served great oysters. Staff is friendly, wine is good. Can’t say the same for the overly spiced peel and eat shrimp (I’m always suspicious that this is a cover-up for poor quality), and the beef tartar was…what was it? Anyway, an
This restaurant is anything but ordinary despite its name.

ExtraOrdinary!
This was our choice for our last night in the amazing city of Charleston. It did not disappoint! We started with the chicory salad and fish cake (both large enough to share)—delicious! The fish cake was light on the breading and perfectly prepared.
Enjoyed every bite!
Loved our visit to The Ordinary and it was anything but. Every bite was delicious! I especially loved the Shrimp with rice dish. Our server seemed tepid about it, but the combination of flavors was delicious. The chicory salad with shallot d
Very nice restaurant.
Excellent selection of oysters. Staff very pleasant. I was by myself and the server, Chelsea, was wonderful. She made sure I knew not to rush, take time and enjoy the experiences.

Thoughtful, creative, and delicious food beautifully presented. Extremely fresh seafood. World-class service. Condiments with the oysters were lackluster and the tartar lacked flavor (I would have liked more salt and a raw egg yolk), but entrees (fis

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to The Ordinary Charleston at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the The Ordinary Charleston page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

* FamousStation67 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FamousStation67 for any questions Peter may have as FamousStation67 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
