I sent this to the Palm in response to their request to describe my dining experience there.
“As a long-term Palm supporter with a five-figure 837 Club point balance (and now an undecipherable number of Landry’s points), I never thought I’d be writing a review like this.
But having recently had the worst (and most expensive - $72!) Palm steak ever, a supposed ribeye that looked suspiciously like a New York Strip, which cooled at the table while my wife and I picked at the new, inferior bread and tried to get the attention from one of the inattentive and disorganized servers to crack open her lobster, which was followed by warm (not hot) hash brown potatoes. I can’t comment on the cheesecake as by the time of our 6:30 dinner reservation, they had already run out of it.
So, to the bean counters at Landry’s: you may have won financially, but you eliminated the culture of what the Palm used to be, and I’d be willing to wager, lost many loyal customers like me along the way. And to my fellow carnivores: see you at BLT.”
After receiving the above, the Palm sent me a quasi-form email, sort of apologizing, and offering to send me “an incentive” to prove that they could do better. They never sent the “incentive.” I rest my case.
