Tapas Lovers Dream....Don't pass this up
Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 - Reservation 8:00pm (Prior RSVP with R350 PER PERSON deposit $19 USD) We flew to Cape Town from Los Angeles (28 hour Flight) for 2 things: First, our 17 day Virgin Voyages cruise & Second, to dine at The PotLuck Club. We first heard of the PotLuck Club while browsing on YouTube for places to eat while we were in Cape Town. A lot of videos on the food presentation and praises on the dishes. I believed I watched 10 videos and even saw a clip on the food channel of how The PotLuck Club was one of the Top 100 restaurants, in the World. Yes, World!! My husband and I love food. We are International foodies, we are not expert food connoisseurs (A.K.A. Food Snobs), we just cherish food that was made from the heart. And I swear we book our travels just to sample culinary experiences from around the world. We arrived with the warmest welcome from the hostess. Another gentleman sat us at the Food Counter, and we were served by Tony. It was nice watching the staff prepare the dishes and each one was vital for the end product of the tapas. We ordered 7 dishes, which was recommended by Tony, and all were Delicious. I couldn't tell you my favorite, because all were unique. We ordered: Taco 2.0 (most popular) Seared Tuna Jerusalem Artichoke Ash Roasted Beet Root Penang Pork Belly Wagyu (Special) African Cheeses The entire bill came out to less than $109 USD, which I could have gladly paid R6000 ( $315 USD) for this exceptional meal. Outstanding Service, excellent Presentation and Tony answered a lot of our questions. We took a taxi from our hotel directly there. It is located inside a private lot with a few more restaurants: Salon, Test Kitchen, etc. If you drive there directly, you will receive a voucher for free parking. Very secured and on site security. We definitely recommend The PotLuck Club - Cape Town

Amazing views all around from mountain side to Atlantic side. Wonderful service, super friendly staff and amazing food. The vegetarian options were few but superb. The meat options were devoured by my family. Loved the experience. Totally recommend a visit. However, the atmosphere can be loud and tinny which can hinder conversation if the place is full.

Absolutely outstanding! Food flavours vibrant and innovative and service first rate. Cannot wait to return! Well done to the whole team.

Located in a remote location (industrial area) in an old silo, 6th floor overlooking an enclosed area where there are several trendy shops. We were lucky enough to be able to sit at the bar during the 6 p.m. shift where you have a good view of the busy kitchen. The menu is tapas style. Beautifully prepared, they tasted great.

The Pot Luck Club is great! We were referred here by our travel agent and she was spot on. The food selection was wonderful and the food was spectacular. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. This is a MUST when visiting Capetown!
Be the first to ReplyPeculiar but good but expensive
Very surprising menu, quite unusual semi-gastronomic tapas but everything was very good. On the other hand, very high prices. My daughter didn't like everything because several dishes were spicy. View from our table really not great.

Wow - second night in Cape Town and our agent recommended Pot Luck Club which we booked a couple of months ago. Amazing food - 6 different dishes which more than filled us up! Lots of different flavours and sensations in our mouths. And wonderful wine to accompany. The staff were knowledgeable and so friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fabulous meal at PLC as ever. All the food is utterly delicious and super exciting. Even things we were very sceptical about were fabulous and there wasn’t a duff dish. Th sommelier is incredible - he has some astonishing bottles he’ll discuss with you if you ask, all for comparatively good value. Absolute must if you’re in Cape Town

This hip restaurant in Cape Town is definitely worth a visit. The food quality is outstanding and our seats at the bar offered us a good insight in the preparations by the well equipped kitchen team. Service is friendly and knowledgable and prices reasonable for the quality of products they serve. Menu is small and therefore all dishes are just spot on.

We returned to eat here after a 10 year gap & the experience was just as fabulous as I remembered it. We had a chef’s table, with great views of the kitchen action. Every dish we had was well presented & tasted amazing. The wagyu special was expensive, but worth the money. Great atmosphere, great service, great night.

I went there with my family for my birthday and we decided to share every dish so that we could taste the cuisine! Every dish was really amazing……one better than the other one! The wine list is very interesting too! Great wines from South Africa! An amazing experience which I suggest if you are in Cape Town! The restaurant is very busy so you better book in advance

What a fabulous venue in a converted biscuit factory. The vibe is lively, the service on point, the portion sizes enough and the quality of food outstanding. A quirky venue, offering great food and amazing views across Cape Town.

Brilliant from start to finish. The venue is cool and quirky. It has a real buzz. The staff are excellent and knowledgeable. The highlight was the food. It was brilliant. It’s worth booking it a month or so in advance and worth the hype. It’s up there with some of the best meals out I have ever had. Brilliant, clever and delicious 👍

Excellent service and fantastic food. Great views from the restaurant. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Great meal one of the best for a very long time. Wish I’d booked to go twice. You have to book in advance. Can’t wait to come back when we’re in Cape Town. Thank you.

Have had many wonderful meals in South Africa, and this one is up there with the best! Excellent service, led by Sean, in spite of it being very busy. The food was amazing helped by the guidance of Sean as the concept was new to us. Will definitely be back. Great atmosphere too.

Our first meal in Cape Town was here and OMG!. Made a reservation a month in advance. Tapas style menu which means you get to try more things!! Good wine list as well.

I had an amazing dinner here! The staff was so kind to help me decide which tapas to order. They have a great selection of different tapas, Vegetarian, seafood, meat, and everything in between. Each dish was beautifully plated and perfectly spiced. I also highly recommend the pineapple vanilla martini.

Sean was our waiter who was extremely helpful and friendly. He helped us navigate their menu to help us select the most delicious tapas choices for us. The food is wonderful and the drinks are very tasty! The Potluck Club is a very unique experience well worth your time and money!

Planner advised early (4 months} reservation and he was right. Totally booked for good reason. Reminded me of a Spanish Tapas bar (multiple 2 person dishes) We tried 6 different dishes and each one was "a party in your mouth". Some of the most unique and savory food we have ever experienced and very inexpensive. Service and ambiance was exceptional.

We spent a rainy day in Cape Town having a very long lunch here and loved it. The food and service were brilliant. The tuna was our standout dish as well as the peanut dessert. One of the best places we ate in Cape Town and such a cool vibe. Fab!

Dinner was delicious! Especially the fish tacos and vegetable tacos, braased fish and beef special. Pork was the one dish no one really liked. Oh and drinks were delicious!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a cool little venue with tasty food!
We spent a few days in Cape Town and had dinner here one of our first evenings - what a great introduction into the South African food scene! The restaurant is situated on the top floor of a small building and has some cool panoramic views. The staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the kitchen is open plan, completely visible to the restaurant. The menu has a very strong Asian influence but their dishes are all very unique and tasty. As an Asian myself, I find that many restaurants are scared to use spice in fear of it being too hot for guests, which annoys me - here they use spice in just the right amounts. Not too hot or overpowering but you definitely feel it; I know it’s just right when I sweat a bit under my eyes. For me, the beef tartare and the crispy squid with their homemade XO sauce were the clear winners (see pics) - that being said they might change the menu so unsure if these will always be there! Also give the green curry martini a try - it’s really unique and tasty! Overall, really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend!

A perfect game. That's how my wife and I felt after our experience at The Pot Luck Club. We had 8 dishes and each and every one of them was absolutely incredible. We assumed a few would be OK and not amazing, but then the next course would just be better than the last. Truly one of my favorite meals I've had in a long time.
