2 night break with friends and two dogs
Just back from 2 night break with friends and two cockapoo’s celebrating my husbands 70th, right from the outset staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in Granta which is a 2 bedroom apartment upstairs in the pub. The apartment was very well equipped and spotless. Nice touches with coffee machine tea etc and fresh milk. We ate in the bar on the Saturday as we could take the dogs food was delicious, there was a large party in the bar obviously celebrating but were very loud which spoilt our meal a little however staff didn’t hesitate to move us so that we could finish our meal in peace and quiet lol !! There are lots of lovely walks in the area luckily our friends had stayed before so knew where to go the info folder was missing but in fairness we forgot to mention this to the staff.
Be the first to ReplyA perfect location for a relaxing break away
We stayed for 2 nights in March as a little getaway to relax, the venue and location is lovely if you're looking for a peaceful relaxing break, few walks or a drive out - we found some pretty Cambridgeshire villages and ended up in Bury St Edmunds too. The breakfast and dinner we had at The Three Hills I couldn't fault, lovely food, pleasant staff, and beautiful rooms with the little touches which gave it the edge...like mini fridge with fresh milk for the early morning coffee...bliss! Thank you we are highly likely to come back another time

We have been aiming to try this restaurant for a while, so out with friends today we went for an Evening meal, we are all Gluten Intolerant amongst other allergies. The Chef Harry and the Manager Kelly were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much bother for them! Our meals were so tasty and beautifully presented, along with the Harry Special deserts we enjoyed a splendid evening and rebooked on our way out! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant and they deserve all success for being so friendly and obliging as well as very good food.

Stayed here again last weekend. Everything excellent. Best dinner I have had for a long time, especially the twice cooked Parmesan souffle.

We had the best experience staying here with the staff going above and beyond for our party of 11 children and adults. Food was superb, breakfast amazing, staff so helpful and friendly and the rooms very high standard and comfortable - we will be coming back.

We booked to stay at The Three Hills while driving from the Sussex/Surrey border towards north Norfolk to visit an elderly relative. We found it online as it was approximately midway to our destination. On arrival about 8pm on Friday we were greeted by a smiling faced lady who took us to our room, Rosetta. It was beautifully furnished with everything we needed and just across the car park from the main building. I had booked a table in the restaurant for us and we both really enjoyed our choices. The fish I chose was moist and chunky and my husband’s main was equally tasty. The staff (without exception) were courteous, warm and welcoming and very attentive. The passion fruit creme brûlée was also delicious. Although we weren’t in the room that long it was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. The shower was large, equipped with The White Company products and the towels were thick, white and fluffy. We try to support independent businesses and will definitely try to arrange to stay at The Three Hills the next time we make the journey to Norfolk. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Photo is of the local beautiful church, just a few minutes from The Three Hills.

Comfortable room with all facilities including coffee machine and fridge. Guest loung with log fire which was very welcoming as the weather was pretty awful. Modern restaurant, small menu choice but good overall, although wouldn’t recommend the prawn cocktail, why mess about with what is essentially such an easy dish. Breakfast was very good especially the homemade granola Try to avoid the room at the front as the road is very noisy with local farm traffic

Well presented accommodation, we liked the residents lounge and village setting. Note that the bar and restaurant are shut for part of the week. So we had to do without food and drink as there is nowhere else local to eat. This took away from what could have been a very pleasant stay. The place was deserted after six o’clock. The next place that we stayed at offered the option of sandwiches available for those arriving after restaurant hours. This along with fresh fruit for breakfast would have meant a higher star rating.

Base for Chilford hall wine tasting, One night stay, really nice pub, room was excellent. The menu was a bit limited and food was ok, service a bit slow towards the end. But would stay again.

Lovely stay at The Three Hills. Modern styled rooms, excellent decor, very attentive & friendly staff and great food in the outdoor covered restaurant. Breakfast was also very good. Thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay with a work colleague. Special appreciation to Max & his chef brother in the kitchen, loved the food.

This must be our 15th visit to the Three Hills and we have been coming since it changed hands pre covid. Why? Because the food is excellent, the staff universally lovely, and the covered area that they set up during covid is simply beautiful. Am I related to the owners? No! This is simply a real gem in the Cambridge countryside and we will just keep coming back.

Good room, excellent Sunday lunch and great people. Set in lovely village near Cambridge. Not expensive for what it is.

In a rural setting in the town of Bartlow you will find the Three Hills Inn, a pub, restaurant and several rooms for rent. We have stayed there for 3 nights. The service, diner and rooms are excellent! Very friendly staff. If you stay there on a Monday and Tuesday, the pub and restaurant are closed, but open for breakfast for the guests. If the weather is fine you can stay outside in a lovely garden with lots of space. It is a pity though, that the pub and restaurant was closed… The continental breakfast served on Monday and Tuesday is very basic (for that price) and I would recommend to lower the price or adjust the breakfast with more choice. Despite that, we would like to come back again!

Great venue. Lovely people. Neat and tidy room with all the extra bits to make our stay feel wonderful. Decoration is excellent. Breakfast was brilliant and the pub itself is just so nice. We look forward to returning for Sunday roast.

We stayed for one night in the flat above, and also ate lunch, dinner and breakfast at the pub. We received a warm welcome, all of the staff were friendly and professional. Lunch was excellent, the ox cheek bites and wild garlic chicken in particular. Our son (7) enjoyed the kid's menu and desserts were amazing, try the chocolate fondant. For dinner, they had an event on and so were serving pizzas, which were freshly cooked in the pizza oven outside and superb. Breakfast was a simple but effective continental affair, and I added Eggs Royale which were great too. The pub has a delightful sprawling feel with multiple rooms that lead out to a large and well kept garden, perfect for relaxing away the afternoon in. Thanks for a lovely stay, we'll be back.

Stayed here last weekend in the flat, from the booking to the accommodation and evening meal, the service was five star! We stayed in the flat, which is absolutely lovely with high end products in the bathroom and dog bowls and may for the dog. The meal evening meal was delicious and the service excellent! We all had a really super time and I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone who wants to stay or visit in the area.

We recently visited Ashdon and stayed overnight in the flat at the Three Hills. It is an absolutely beautiful village pub, the flat was amazing, ever comfort had been thought of, even to ensuring a bed, food and water bowls and a spare towel for the dog. The bed was very comfortable, the radios had been left on so there was an ambience in the flat when we arrived and the whole experience was wonderful
Breakfast was delicious and Jasmine was very helpful and attentive
Thank you I would highly recommend the Three Hills to anyone visiting the area
Valentines Dinner
We opted for the early sitting at 6pm. The service was super. The set menu with choices was beautifully presented and all courses very tasty. Lovely to have a real fire too. Although there was a second sitting we did not feel rushed. All in all a lovely Valentine's Evening in our local pub...
