The Victoria London Reviews from The Last Year
London Pub elevated
Stopped by for dinner and were fortunate to get last table in bar as restaurant was full with reservations. Waitress was at our table immediately, even though it was packed with locals for a pint after work. Ordered beet spread with flat bread which was amazing for our starter. My husband ordered trout cake with lobster bisque and I had pea ravioli. Both exceeded our expectations. Again service was tremendous between waitress & bar keep, we never were without a pint or G&T. Highly recommend this authentic pub.
Excellent in every way.
Historic pub with upstairs dining. Hard to say anything but great things. We had Wild Mushroom Bourguignon, Chicken Supreme, Apple and Blackberry Crumble and Sticky Toffee pudding. All were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Downstairs has a lively pub atmosphere, upstairs everyone was enjoying their food and having fun (but not too noisy). I will definitely go again.
Comfy English pub.
Service was good. Food came out quickly and overall vibe checked all the English pub boxes. I ordered Vietnamese wings with sauce on the side and olives. To drink was a Merlot. The wings were a curve ball menu item so tried it and really liked it. The sauce was something special. Prefer my wings to not be breaded but beggars can't be chooser's. Overall would go in again. They always have some special. Today's was 3 beers for the price of 2. Welcome to jolly old England.

A nice find by yelp search near Paddington - it's a bit out of the main roads and mostly locals are here - so I know I came to the right place. Nice little pub, old fashioned decors. We ordered off the specials. Vietnamese wings - the wings are smaller than the US - probably less hormones. a bit spicy but very flavorful. Chicken burger - tender, juicy and flavorful- my hubby gives big thumbs up. Haddock - perfectly fried and tasty. Not too hot about the minted peas (tastes like Chinese medicine - for real). Should've read the menu more carefully. Highly recommended- except for the peas. Ps - the ladies room stall was super small - feel like my face could be on the door, is this part of the pub culture?

Went to restaurant for Sunday roast, very nice ambiance but roast was just ok. Desserts were excellent. Service ok
Nice old boozer, crazy food prices.
Went to meet a mate for a couple of pints and Sunday roast. It’s a lovely old pub, and in fairness it’s probably geared up more to the tourists, especially as Paddington Station is just down the road. Beer was fine, bar service was slow. Roast beef dinner was £22, which felt expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t recommend.
My first time to enjoy classic fish and chips.
With English Peas. really cool spot. Guiness on tap. Add a little bartender attitude. This American was happy
Great Experience
I booked The Victoria for a lunch with friends before we attended a fashion show nearby at St John’s Church. It is a lovely old characterful place, we loved the dining areas upstairs. We ate in the theatre room, but took a peak at the library room too, both fabulous and cosy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Service was great, nothing too much trouble when we a couple of friends wanted to change things up a bit. All of the food was delicious, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Everyone in our party of seven, were more than happy. We like the idea of mini puds with a choice of hot drink as sometimes a large dessert is just too much after a starter and a main. They were just perfect. Two of us actually shared a crumble and ice-cream dessert, which was great. Pricing is very reasonable for London, even the wine. On leaving, downstairs was very busy with a mixture of diners and drinkers. There seemed to be a lovely atmosphere. To dine upstairs, you have to use a spiral staircase which is quite steep for anyone with mobility issues. One of our group needed assistance but was fine with help. We would definitely recommend visiting and eating there if you find your self in the area. So glad we chose The Victoria
A great pub in Paddington
We tried several pubs, but the Victoria stand way above all of them. The food is awesome. The lamb shoulder is terrific. We went multiple times. The specials are great. The service was excellent. Glad to get to help you. The pub is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this pub. Short walk from the Paddington station Don’t miss out on this place.
Stunning Traditional Pub
Stunning traditional pub set away from the main streets. Relaxing atmosphere even when a rugby Six Nations game on TV. The bar looks small on entry but there is an upstairs.
English pub with good veriaty
Cool pub with friendly staff and good atmosphere.Located by the Grand hotel where we stayed so short walk across the Street😃🍺
Need to get yourself customer focussed staff
Sunday lunch is okay. Staff not so great. A lot of customers turn up with suitcases. After all it's a 5 min walk from one of the busiest railroad stations on the planet (Paddington), which happens to deliver passengers to one of the busiest airports in the world (LHR). When I asked one of the staff if they had any storage on the ground floor, I got the sarcastic, answer "this is a pub mate". I hauled my bags up a spiral staircase, watched others do same, watched a mother with young child haul their stroller up the same narrow spiral staircase. Most customers had bags. Smart ass "bloke" who was server - not customer focussed.
Excellent service
Excellent welcome and service. Drinks were good as well. Overall a great pub. Toilets were down a spiral staircase so go before you’ve had a few but other than that, great!
Catching up with old friends
We visited for dinner and a catchup with friends we hadn't seen for about 10 years. We were seated in one of the upper rooms which could have been a squeeze but turned out to have plenty of room. The food was excellent and arrived as quickly as you would expect, something for everyone including a couple of fussy eaters. The staff looked after us very well.
Great dinner with the family.
Had a great Shepard pie. There were lots of people doing Xmas/holiday dinner. Such a fun concept. Good service and food.

OMG the Sunday roast was exactly what I wanted! Totally hit the spot. We got the beef Sunday roast that came with cheesy cauliflower, roast potatoes, gravy, veggies, and Yorkshire pudding. It also had horseradish but it hurt my sinuses so I didn't eat much of it. We accompanied the meal with a pint of cider that was delicious! The only downside to the pub is that it requires a reservation if you want to sit inside. So we sat outside, which was fine, except for everyone smoking. I really enjoyed my meal here!
Serving figures from Winston Churchill to Charles Dickens
Serving figures from Winston Churchill to Charles Dickens over the 150 years that this place has been in business, it is pretty unlikely that even the most detailed Yelp reviewers would be able to point out something that has not already been said before. Real Ales, Roasts and Fish and Chips are things that this authentic pub is known for and it unquestionably does them very, very well. The upstairs is quite a gem and does require reservations, sitting in the theater or library room is a journey through the history of Paddington. The pub has many tourists due to the proximity to Heathrow Express, but also locals coming in for a Sunday roast. The girl working here was extremely kind and attentive. Haddock was lightly breaded and perfectly fried, with their fries being extremely delicate and flavorful. Another surprising side for an American are the English peas, which were simply spectacular. Having visited a number of pubs in London, this one is undoubtedly unique and has a character, thus an absolute must to visit.

The wall decour is great and the service is very fast to order. My brothers had some questions about the beers since this was our first pub in London and they were glad to answer them. The food came out fast after we order and it looks as delicious as it looks. The pork I got was soft with a nice crunchy skin. The sauce and everything that came under the pork was what I enjoyed the most, the flavor was so good with every bite. My friend got the lamb shank and he was amazed how tender the meet was. This pub is definitely a good choice to stop and grab a beer and some food.
We didn't eat there because it was always crowded.
But we went to a Chinese restaurant next door and the food there was excellent.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
