Migrate over to The Warbler
I can't say enough good things about The Warbler. The food was fantastic, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere lively without being nuts! They have a nice outdoor patio, but we chose to eat inside, and since it was before 6 p.m., we went for the $29/person, four-course meal. The mussels in coconut curry sauce were plump and flavorful (though I would have preferred a chunk of bread to the grilled bread slices for dipping), the mushroom flatbread fabulous, and the arugula salad refreshing. The carrot cake could have been more carroty, but it was still good. Best of all was the Tanager, a tequila cocktail that was as unique as it was delicious. The wine list is manageable and good (I had the Fruili). The meal price was eminently fair. There is street parking and a city lot nearby, but it's also just off the Brown line at Western. The only thing missing is a drink named for a warbler!

This place is just amazing; I'll want to go here again next trip to Chicago. The host was extremely kind and very patient and didn't even blink when we asked to sit outside. The food choices are just great and four of us had the following and each was better than the last: Chicken wings, a roasted pear salad - which was my favorite, crispy cauliflower (so good), charred broccoli, and Hawaiian flatbread. We were full but my husband still wanted the skillet cookie with ice cream. So many good choices and the flavors just wonderful for each dish. Service was great and we were not rushed in anyway. They do have an early bird option which also looks great.

Simply Fantastic. Definately try the Supper Club...$29/person from 4-6 pm Mon-Fri. You won't be disappointed, and it's a great way to try a variety of foods. Our server was very helpful in making our selections. We chose the kale salad (this may be the best I've had), chicken wings, cheese ravioli, mushroom flatbread (by this point we were getting really full), and apple crisp for dessert. We were seeing a show across the street at the Old Town Music School, so the location could not have been better. 6 stars.

As you can see from my past reviews, I always enjoy the Supper Club here for $25 per adult. Children are for free. My family of five including my daughter’s two-year old arrived at 5:30 for our dinner reservation. We were seated immediately. As you can see from my pics we were seated at a nice booth in the rear of the restaurant overlooking the kitchen area. This time I enjoyed my “The Robin” cocktail for $11 followed by a “Purple Martin” cocktail also for $11. We shared a bottle of Pellegrino for $6.
We always order the chicken wings here, which is my favorite. We all enjoyed our other shared dishes. Stephanie served our table nicely. My total bill was $196 less gratuities. Our dinner only cost $100, while the remainder of $96 was for our cocktails. We all agreed we will continue to return here for the Supper Club.
As an alternative to the Warbler I also like the recently opened similarly priced Swift & Sons Tavern.
We enjoyed the food, the ambiance,
We enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and the service. Cat, our server, truly enhanced our experience. Nice 70’s vibe interior design. Open kitchen. Inventive menu, but feels like home.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent is an understatement
Everything about my experience at The Warbler was absolutely delightful. My husband and I dined on a Saturday night. Every detail from decor to cocktails, food and staff was perfect. I think the chef may be a culinary genius-seriously. Every single thing we had (and we had a lot) was beyond delicious. I suggest ordering the artichokes as an appetizer. Definitely have the green beans and the fresh pasta. The servings are large, so sharing is the way to go. It will be difficult, but try to save room for the amazing brownie and carrot cake desserts.
I cannot wait for my next visit!
Tasty food, attentive service
My friend and I had dinner. The mushroom soup was flavorful. We also had the cauliflower, chicken wings and asparagus flatbread. Each item was delicious. My only criticism is the high noise level.

Very creative foods, great presentation and clever use of space. There are 4 very different-feeling sections in this railroad-style restaurant (long and thin). We moved from the very open main area between the bar and the kitchen to the more cozy banquettes with kitchen view. We arrived at 6:00 on a Wednesday night and there were more families with young kids than we expected. The food is well plated and the menu extremely eclectic. We were given more recommendations from our waiter than there were dishes but I give him credit for recommending the most delicious, dry, crisp white wine, LA CAPRANERA (in Italian it means Black Goat). He was also very attentive in keeping our glasses filled. The 4 of us shared the sweet corn flat bread, a pasta, the grilled broccoli, chicken wings and the huge plate of carrot cake with ice cream for dessert and all had plenty to eat. The flavor can combos were unusual and mostly worked. Worth a trip.

We had Fusilli, Roasted Salmon and Falafel, all were prepared well, served at the right temperature, and the portions were just right. We felt the price was perfect for the portion size.

Sat outside on patio, perfect night for dining outside. Flatbreads were great, as were the salads. Unique menu, hard to make decisions. Very friendly and attentive, can tell people that work here really stand by their product.

We sat outside on a summer Saturday evening avoiding excessive noise. The food was delicious, the service great. In addition, the prices were quite reasonable. Flatbreads were especially good as were the appetizers.

We really enjoyed the food and cocktails and the restaurant design is comfortable and stylish. It’s not too noisy so you can hear your conversation.
We enjoyed a delicious burger and pork belly and black bean nachos. Can’t wait to try the peanut butter brownie next time.
family-style supper club
As you can see I have been here many times mostly for their early bird supper club dinner for only $25. Their family-style supper club is available 4:30-6:00pm Monday-Friday. Our table can choose a selection of five dishes from their regular dinner offering including one salad, any two appetizers, vegetable dishes or house made pastas and their favorite flatbread. Their menu is friendly enough for children, but elevated so that the adults will truly enjoy it too. Kids nine and under are complimentary!
We had a 5:30pm dinner reservation. The four of us had a nice center table. I started with my usual purple martin for $11. We always enjoy our shared our arugula salad with whipped ricotta, pickled fennel, marinated olives, lemon vinaigrette, roasted walnuts and herbed croutons. We also always enjoy their Korean style chicken wings with tamari glaze and sesame seeds. We also enjoyed our English pea risotto with mascarpone, spring garlic and parmesan crisp. I also enjoyed my second purple martin and my robin also for $11.
Our food only cost $100, but the rest were our cocktails and wine. My total bill less gratuities was $246. Our server Brittnay accommodated our table nicely. We will continue to return here for their early bird dinner and try to drink less.
