The Wolf's Tailor Denver Reviews from The Last Year
So glad we were able to get a reservation at the last
So glad we were able to get a reservation at the last minute! Our reservation was at 830pm and we didn't leave till after 11pm! It didn't occur to us how late it was till we checked the time. We lost track of time and I think we were going by the pace of the course too. Our server Izack was so friendly and personable with their service. There was a small hiccup with my drink orders and they generously comped both drinks which I was not expecting at all. The food was amazing. I loved all the different flavor combinations and the amount of thought and effort this restaurant puts into curating these different dishes, with sustainability being their focus. The only photo I forgot to take was the dessert photo labeled intermezzo, the shaved wasabi on top of the strawberry and coconut dessert was interesting and while I don't think Id enjoy more of that, it was fun to try. One of my girlfriends did the mocktail pairings with the courses and shared them with us and they were fun to try! Each pairing was so different and interesting. We really enjoyed the pairings. We ate inside of a tent with a small fireplace and ambient lighting. We were glad we didn't have to share the space with other customers. This was a great experience. Gotta try it!
Winner of not just a Michelin star, but also a Michelin
Winner of not just a Michelin star, but also a Michelin green star for sustainability (which I would argue is actually MORE interesting/relevant) -- this is one of my personal favorite spots in Denver. Helmed by Chef Taylor Stark and brought to you by the hospitality group led by award-winning Chef Kelly Whitaker -- this spot serves innovative, imaginative multi-course tasting menus highlighting the different seasons and always leave us delighted. Focused on grains and fermentation in the colder months -- and fresh local produce in the warmer months -- every dish here is such a thought-out composition of fantastic flavors. Wolf's Tailor looks casual when you first walk in: an open kitchen, multi-toned wood and brick, clean lines of glass and steel, and a little garden out back. But everything I've ever eaten here has been anything but simple -- and always impeccable. Also, the private tent seating in the garden is a real treat! The seating options here are conducive to parties of more than just 2, as they don't revolve around a chef's counter. Dinner here is approximately $160 per person -- plus $120 for a wine pairing, $95 for a beverage pairing (mix of cocktails, cider, and beer), or $80 for a zero-proof pairing. We found it to be worth it every time we've gone.
Visited to celebrate a birthday.
Staff were very friendly and service was fantastic. The food was really creative and contained really interesting flavors. The non alcoholic drinks were mostly well received. I opted for the wine pairing and the reason for 4 star v 5 star. The wine choices did not match the food nor the $ for the wine pairing option. I believe this is where they could do much better.
The entire experience was absolute top notch - the Michelin
The entire experience was absolute top notch - the Michelin star in 2023 was well deserved. This is a great place for a date night, but be prepared to drop some serious $$$$
Excellent service and food was spectacular.
Worth the price paid and would come back again.
The Wolf's Tailor reminds me of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now".
.. SENSATIONAL! ELECTRIC! CAPTIVATING! THOUGHTFUL! UNIQUE! INVITING! The vibe walking in is a classic piano with a distinct voice singing, "Tonight, I'm gonna have myself a real good time." To check in, you walk through their beautiful patio before entering the immaculate interior. You'll see the kitchen to your right. It's neat to see the chefs at work. They are laser focused, meticulously crafting dishes to send out. You'll be greeted by a host who graciously checks your coat and guides you to your table. Before departing, they will ask for your preference of water: sparkling or still. At this point, you've already began to chime and internally rock with, "don't stop me now don't stop me, 'cause I'm having a good time, having a good time" in pure anticipation of the tasting experience! The Seasonal Tasting Menu 00 Amazake: "a shooting star, leaping through the sky" - This was a cup of pure delight, slightly sweet, mildly earthy and nutty! The ingredients listed were charleston gold rice and jimmy nardelo pepper. 01 Zensai: "like a tiger defying the laws of gravity" - Everything about this course was defying... between the oyster, panna cotta and macaron. Now, two out of three of these items are typically sweet treats. Not here. These were savory and rich, just melted in your mouth bites. 02 Fermentation: "I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva" - There's alot going on here! You'll get rev'd up by their highlighting of five different fermentation styles: grain, tartare, sunomono, kimchi and umeboshi! My "Mister Fahrenheit" was the grain which was sourdough piada. I was "travelling at the speed of light" to grab another bite! 03 Scallop: "I wanna make a supersonic man out of you" - Now, this scallop was plucked out of the sea then zapped less than 24 hours later to our table. If anything is supersonic, it's this scallop. It was fresh, silky and STANDOUT. 04 Dumpling: "I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball" - Okay, you are midway through the meal. And YES! You are having a good time! This course just takes you to a ball, though. The dumplings come out in a bowl, then the waiter dresses them with a magical broth. It's what you wish your grandma knew how to make on a cold day. It's comforting and like a warm hug. Mhmm! 05 Wagyu: "If you wanna have a good time. Just give me a call" - We all know... this is the guy you wanna call when you are trying to take the party to another level. This wagyu was seared and rested to utter perfection. It was juicy, savory and you are sad when you get to the last note. 06 Intermezzo: (Don't stop me now) - There's a moment when you think, "Ah man, this is it." Only to find out... it's not! It's just a delicious light palate cleanser for you to move and groovy into dessert. 07 Mille Feuille & Birthday Cake: "I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars on a collision course, I am a satellite I'm out of control" - We got an extra bite because it was my birthday! The collision of two desserts was out of control with flavor. Subtly sweet, sweetly superb! 08 Mignardise Sheep Version: "Woah. Let loose, honey, all right." - The last bite is choose your own adventure: sheep or wolf. Wolf has caffeine, while sheep has no caffeine. Although you are not ready for the night to end and you definitely cannot fit another bite in your body, you will and it is worth it. As the lyrics go, just "let loose" and "honey" it is "all right." At the end, you will... "feel alive and the world I'll turn it inside out, yeah" You are 100% "floating around in ecstasy" and singing... "Ah, da, da, ah, ah, ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh!" And think... That was a meal fit for a QUEEN and a GOOD TIME!
Is it grammatically or rhetorically wrong to say, "The
Is it grammatically or rhetorically wrong to say, "The Wolf's Tailor is the cat's meow"? Is it wrong to say, "Our $650 dinner for 2 was "reasonably" priced"? Is it wrong to say, "@#!%@# WHAT(*&($*&@#!"? Not sure of the answers those questions...but here's what I can tell you: Wolf's Tailor is a legitimate Michelin (1) starred restaurant (as is its sister Denver restaurant, Bruto). They offer what you will find at most restaurants that win that recognition: * A delicious amuse buche course; * A bread course and at the end of the meal 1 or more dessert courses that will blow your socks off: * A series of 5-7 (or more) courses chosen by the chef, frequently giving you little if any choice over what you will be eating, but which usually includes fish and meat-centered entrees; * Dishes layered in taste with way more ingredients than you would normally see; * The use of unusual ingredients, including flowers, foams, caviar or truffle or similar pricey garnishments and/or taste intensifiers or accents; * Smaller dish sizes/amounts, usually because of the concentration of the flavors and the costs that would come from serving you a 8 oz wagyu tenderloin as opposed to a 3 oz cut of meat; * The chance to order matched wine pairings that will significantly increase the cost of what you think at first blush is a way too expensive meal. So is any meal worth that kind of money when your digestive system turns it into the same by-products as if you had chowed down on a "farm-to-table" organic $10 Mac 'n Cheese? Well, I guess since the difference between those dishes essentially disappears after the food has gotten past your taste buds, it would be a good idea to look at how long that food is hitting up your buds. So here's my semi-scientific analysis of Michelin dining from a cost-benefit perspective . . . Turns out the average time a person normally chews their food before swallowing is about 6-8 times. (My grandma told me to chew 30 times before swallowing and there are many studies supporting that belief for many health-related reasons (thank you Grandma)). Let's say you do those 7 chews within 10 seconds each. From my observation each course at a Michelin restaurant is only about 6-10 bites for each dish. Figuring out the time your taste buds experience the food using an average of 8 bites per course, for 7 courses, at 10 seconds a bite . . . well, that all means that in that $325 per-person meal your taste buds were only getting stimulated for about 560 seconds of the meal, or just under 10 minutes. Maybe double that if you want to count the wine servings. Now when you go to a Michelin starred restaurant you get not only the food, but you get to enjoy the atmosphere, the service, and the artistry of the experience in general. But let's be brutally objective: For that $325 cost you're paying for about 10-20 minutes of actually tasting something. So, given that fact. Was it worth it? Since I think The Wolf's Tailor earned 5 Yelp stars for me that answers the question. But I've seen Yelp TWT reviews where the person said that the serving sizes were much too small, or the food was not that good (!???), or the service was not that great. So I guess we had different experiences. I thought the atmosphere, the service and the food were well-deserving of the Michelin star that was awarded. But I get it if you think I'm wrong and I guess that's what makes horse racing. Sign me, Friendly, filled and satisfied, David "Wow that was tasty" M
High expectations met and exceeded on all fronts.
I've never encountered a more knowledgeable staff. That's saying a lot considering the complexity of the food and beverage pairings. The pairings are next-level. Be prepared to go on a journey of the senses. You will definitely be surprised, as their creations are one-of-a-kind. Come with an open mind - you might not love every flavor, but chances are you will get your mind blown by all 9 courses. Most surprising for me was the spirit-free pairings. Our group of 4 had all three beverage pairing options: spirits, wine, and spirit-free. All were equally as impressive, and we found ourselves sharing tastes of everything (thankfully no one was sick). I didn't know spirit-free could go to this level. Even though the entire staff seemed to be experts, Zach, the lead Som, is a standout. One of the best I've encountered in terms of knowledge and personality. I can't wait to go back.
We were here 3 times before they received a star and all
We were here 3 times before they received a star and all three times were impeccable! We returned last night at a heftier price and ready to again be wowed. The food was actually average, at best. Uni panna cotta needed acid and texture. My husband's quail was so over-seasoned he couldn't eat it (a complaint he has NEVER had about food!). The stuffiness factor was off the charts, too. We're all for a little pomp and flare but the food better be darn tasty. While there were highlights, they weren't wow-lights. Sadly, I don't think we will return for another $500+ meal.
I have been to Wolfs Tailor so many times before they
I have been to Wolfs Tailor so many times before they received the Michelin Star and I would absolutely rave about it! The service, the food, the experience was always amazing and I left so impressed with the crazy flavor combinations I was presented and the cocktails were always so unique and really made me sit back and say wow after every sip. Sadly this last time I went, the fall menu I was left shocked, hungry, and disappointed in the experience. I am 100% giving Wolf's Tailor another shot and I hoping it is just a byproduct of the new publicity they are receiving. The food was by no means bad but leaving hungry is always a huge no for me, especially when the cost of a meal for two after tip is almost $600. I love that they have a focus on local ingredients and sourcing from a perspective of stability and consciousness I do sincerely hope this sticks as they continue to grow. If you are looking for a really memorable experience I highly recommend the tent with a group. And as for tip make sure to note if you left it when you booked! Last time we went, we did leave it at booking and they charged us an additional 20% on top of that original for a service charge which is in essence a 40% additional cost and said they they could do nothing about it.
We celebrated hubby's birthday in Denver and wanted to book
We celebrated hubby's birthday in Denver and wanted to book something special for his actual dinner. We were able to get into a private tent for the four of us and the experience was fun and memorable. They did a good job of making the tent feel nice and cozy. It was a chilly evening but when we closed one tent flap, the heater did a nice job of warding off the cold. There were also blankets available in one corner of the tent. We didn't really do a lot of research since we wanted to be surprised so it was indeed surprising that the dishes were heavily Asian-influenced with a majority of locally sourced ingredients. Nothing felt forced or shoe-horned in and we felt all the dishes were conscientiously created and assembled with the utmost care. My personal favorites were the chawan mushi and, honestly, hubby's birthday cake that featured 3 kinds of chocolate. He declared it the best cake he's ever had. Service was super attentive without being distracting and they made sure to give us time to enjoy our experience without the meal feeling interminable. I was quite surprised but we were STUFFED by the time dessert rolled around. When we booked the reservation, we had no idea about this place other than it was highly rated, voted best restaurant in Denver a year or two ago. But between our booking and when we actually visited, we discovered they earned a Michelin star + a green Michelin star. After our meal there, we were not surprised and felt it was more than well-deserved. Definitely a recommend from us!
Wolf's Tailor was well worth the wait, the hassle of trying
Wolf's Tailor was well worth the wait, the hassle of trying to get a reservation and the $. We admittedly had never heard of Wolf's Tailor prior to the Michelin star accreditation but we are sure glad that it happened because we had a dinner that we will not forget about anytime soon nor will we stop telling all of our friends and family about for the foreseeable future. The highlights from our dinner is without a doubt the Scallops, the fermentation course and the Wagyu beef which was all so deliciously and thoughtfully paired and with melt in your mouth texture! We cannot wait to come back soon to try the next menu. HIGHLY recommend!
Ya know we went there for the experience.
The food was good. I wouldn't say fab. They did try to use local ingredients. Several Small portions. Very simple inside. Clean. I would't go back for myself. But I would take my young teens once just to show them different restaurants.
Excellent Food and Service Though Something Was Missing
First of all, the Wolf’s Tailor was 5 of 5 for food, 5 of five drinks pairing (both wine and non-alcoholic) and 5 of 5 for service. So why not a 5 overall, because for the price and the Michelin Star one doesn’t expect them to forget to deliver a course. Got home, looked at the printed menu they gave us of our meal and realized one of the dessert courses ( Mignardise) was never plated for our table of 3. And, if you go on their website both places where you click to get in touch are inoperative. So this is the only place I can provide feedback. Which is a poor way to end such an excellent meal and certainly cheapens the value-for-money. As to the food, WOW!! The fresh, unique, flavorful, and creative dishes were world class. In the dozens and dozens of Michelin starred restaurants I’ve been to I’ve never had a tartare course, wagyu course or scallop course that tasty and unique. Bravo!! The wine and non-alcoholic beverages were also superstars of the dining experience. Each wine certainly enhanced the food courses. Our designated driver’s non-alcoholic pairings were the envy of the table. SUPERB! The wait staff was always professional, friendly and attentive. And the welcome and send off from the chefs as we passed the kitchen was a nice touch.
Delightful dining in Denver
This dining experience was not just good, it was really good. If you look for something original and local where food, wine and drinks are perfectly matched, you have your destination!

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Has anyone found a way to get a question answered? From what I can tell there is no way to get in touch with anyone that works at/for AT. Other than the occasional admin posting a consultation offer here and there they are non existent. A lot of people have the same issue I have where we cannot cash out earnings. I cannot get my warning medal removed even though I am under the threshold. Sad to say but seems like AT is holding up everyone’s funds currently. Very scary and makes me wonder….Please reply if you read this admins and can help. Tried every way possible to get in touch

Give the best answerRestaurant Bought/Canceled Their Own Reservation
I accepted a bid for a popular restaurant in Los Angeles only to receive a phone call shortly thereafter informing me that the reservation had been canceled due to it being listed on AT. I of course need to subsequently cancel the reservation on AT but get this warning that my status will be negatively affected for doing so. I've reached out to customer support about this several times with no response, not sure what to do in this station. Hoping someone can advise.

Give the best answerQuestion about postpaid listings for prepaid bookings
I have a prepaid reservation, but I'm allowed to transfer that reservation to others for a price that I set (up to the total price I paid).
For selling POSTPAID reservations, do I charge the buyer the full amount of the reservation when transferring? And then the buyer pays something on top of that (which is what is listed in the AppointmentTrader listing?)
Major Issue for Seller
My money is being held hostage! Can you please remove my refund medal as I am below the 11% threshold and should be able to withdraw my full daily amount now? I have been teying for a long time to get a reply on this. Major issue for people looking to do good/right like you ask and make positive sales. Being able to access earned revenue is critical and not getting any reply is very concerning for your sellers. Lot of other people having the same issue. Once below the threshold you should auto remove the warning medals.

Give the best answerWell through rate holding money for 180 days
Just wanted to put this out there as I find it quite weird. AT will hold money if your sell through rate is to low. I find this strange as you would think that sell through rate should reflect more on AT not marketing their site well enough to generate sales. It seems weird to punish sellers for listings not selling.
