Really nice cafe with wonderful sandwiches and bread just off the square. I would go back.

This place is located in downtown Healdsburg area and has absolutely amazing sandwiches! I had the Sumac Roasted Carrot and all of the ingredients mixed together and were very flavorful and delicious! It was a more food than I was expecting so I ended up having half at lunch and half for dinner. Fresh ingredients and absolutely amazing. If you are looking for an amazing lunch, definitely check this place out if you are in the Healdsburg downtown area. If you are going on a wine tour, see if your driver can pick up a sandwich from here for you to have at a winery that allows outside food. The food here is absolutely amazing! They make their sandwiches fresh daily and they are so delicious!

my wife and I have eaten at many very nice restaurants all over the world...seriously this is one one the best dinners we have experienced. Outstanding freshness and composition of ingredients. highly recommend it.

Not cheap, but it's Healdsburg....

This is for the dinner service. This was by far the best fine dining experience I have ever had. Each dish was unique, creative, and most importantly, delicious. There are several wonderful dishes here. They accommodated my preference for no pork/shellfish and were very gracious about it, despite it being prix fixe. Service was excellent, and I had an amazing bottle of wine. Ambiance was cozy and fun. 10/10 recommend.
Be the first to ReplyHad a lovely dinner last month.
Unsurprisingly, the various breads we were served over the course of the meal were excellent. Dinner was a prix fixe where you could choose from various options for the appetizer and mains so the bf and I made sure to make different selections to be able to try more. One of the bf's favorite dishes was the croque madame at the start. It was made even more interesting since it came in puff form. One of my favorite dishes was unexpectedly a little cup of a mushroom broth, also near the start. The herb salad was also delicious: very fresh, perfectly dressed, and a pleasing brightness. I got the steak tartare while the bf got the chestnut soup. This was possibly the first time I ever had leftover bread after finishing my tartare which was great bc I do find it a little annoying when I don't get enough bread to eat tartare with (which happens more often than I think it should). I had the monkfish amandine for my main and the bf got the duck pruneaux. Dessert was a tarte tatin. I had kind of wanted the supplemental caviar and eggs offered early on but full table participation was required and both of us weren't incredibly hungry. It looked great when I saw another table get it but I was so stuffed by the end of our meal that I'm glad we refrained. The wine we ordered was really good. Service was also great. We got to take home a baguette at the end of the meal which I was excited about. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant
Be the first to ReplyWe got the Turkey Pesto and Italian.
Both sandwiches were so delicious and big portions. Perfect sandwich shop to stop in for lunch.

Sandwiches taken to a whole other level! Great lunch place with excellent bread, toppings and coffee! The prices are a tad high but what you get is out of this world!
Be the first to ReplyMy husband & I dined at Troubadour this past Tuesday.
Although we dine out regularly, it is the best meal we have had in a very long time. The consommé, that began our dinner, alone was worth the price of admission! I could have had that & the bread & been happy & felt totally nourished! The service was welcoming, caring & not in the least pretentious. Everyone seemed fully intent on us having a supremely enjoyable evening. And we did, right down to the ending cup of tea & glass of bubbly! And a separate shout out to the "wine guy" who was more interested in us & our enjoyment of the wine (a Peay Viognier) than showing off his knowledge (which I have no doubt was considerable). His recommendation of a Drew GSM to complement my husband's choice of the chicken was spot on. And yes, we were back the next morning to pick up a loaf of bread to bring home with us. Thank you for a wonderful meal & a memorable experience!

My first 5 star review is for the "Le Dinner" held at the cafe in the evenings on Wed - Sunday at $125 w/ possible supplemental course it was a good value in healdsbrug, fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation and presentation. My favorites of the night were the croque monsieur w/ black truffle OMG and the avocado/ caviar w/ bread course was amazing..The menu was tasty and by the time the chicken royale was finished it definitely hit the spot, dessert was simply but delicious. Now for a combo review we came back the following day to try there sandwiches and the combinations and fresh bread really hit all the sandwich craving spots, I'm already trying to go back.

This review is for the "Lé Dinner" held at the cafe at night which is a 5 course dinner menu, definitely a must try at $125. Please make reservations as this restaurant/cafe is small and walk ins are hard to accommodate, the menu changes regularly but you will not be disappointed. The food was delicious but the highlight was the gentleman/waiter he was very knowledgeable about all the wines and helped out choose the perfect wines to go with are dinner

This is surely a fabulous stop for delicious sandwiches and delightful in-house baked bread. We walked in the door and were taken by the delicious smell of freshly baked bread accompanied with a symphony of pleasing smells. The menu offers a wonderful selection of locally sourced ingredients-a Sonoma county plus. We ordered the Pastrami sandwich-which comes with Journeyman salami, dijon butter, gruyere, and frisee, and the chicken salad sandwich-which comes with pumpkin seed dukkah and fresh picked herbs, and for dessert a chocolate chip cookie! However, next time we are ordering the Sumac Roasted Carrot sandwich filled with pesto, burrata, arugula, and pickled red onion. Never thought a carrot sandwich would look too good. The menu offers something for everyone!! Service: The services is impeccable. Note: Come early for seating. Sandwiches are made as grab and go options which are made throughout the day.

I've tried 4 of their sandwiches, and each has been a dancing flavor bomb! So GOOD. Also, their cookies are delightful. Service-wise they will go above and beyond. They recently started serving dinner, I have yet to be but I am excited to see what they do. I always make sure I make a stop at Troubador every time I'm in Healdsburg!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, yet ridiculously expensive sandwiches.
I came in expecting to be wowed. I had a vegetarian roasted carrot sandwich - at seventeen dollars. It definitely wasn't worth $17. Husband had a turkey and pesto sandwich, also not worth $17, and a small bag of Kettle brand chips for $3 - usually $1.50 anywhere else.$44.03 for two sandwiches and a single bag of chips. good sandwich as far as sandwiches go, I don't think it was worth it, but maybe you will. The staff was also not awesome, I waited patiently as they flirted with some young women that were sitting at the table before they pulled themselves away to help with my order. But before walking away one of them, in an attempt to give the ladies his phone number, tried air dropping me his info

C'est si Bon!!! My review is related to Le Diner; Love this intimate experience! My party of 4 had the pleasure of dining on a rainy evening but it certainly did not dampen the experience. The staff are lovely and the food is on point. Our server recommended we order one of each of the items on the tasting menu and we are so glad we followed his recommendation; it was such a fun experience to try it all. The stars in my book were the beef tartare, roasted cauliflower with caviar and the amazing fish dish. The fish dish in particular brought back memories of a lunch I had in the town of Reims; it brought me right back to that experience. The dining area is small so getting a reservation may be tricky but go and enjoy if you get a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Farm fresh sandwiches without the long wait! I've been here twice this year. When I came earlier, the sandwiches were freshly prepared but I think it was because we literally came when they opened (the bread smelled sooo good as we walked by)! Sandwiches were solid and fresh. We came here again today and the sandwiches were ready made. Sandwiches were still solid and the ingredients were definitely farm fresh and delicious. Highly recommend grabbing sandwiches here for lunch or a picnic or to take on a wine tasting adventure. Definitely better than any other sandwich spot in the downtown.

Be the first to Replysorry to have to give this review.
i think maybe they are now more focused on their dinner service. a recent purchase of a pesto turkey sandwich was very disappointing, and for $17.50, not what one would expect. the pesto was a very tiny "smear" at best so there was NO pesto flavor, a few parsley leaves, some turkey (which WAS tasty) and one thin slice of cheese. the bread, as usual, was very good. it just seems it was not made with a lot of care or attention, and the staff seemed uninterested. i would have preferred to contact the owner directly, but that did not seem possible. :(

Cute cafe/sandwich spot by the same owners as Quail and Condor (located on a few blocks away). Troubadour is right by downtown Healdsburg, and I've had them on my list to check out their sandwiches for a while. They are now also open for dinner, and have a separate dinner menu. During the morning hours, Troubadour serves grab and go sandwiches made throughout the day, as well as breads and a small amount of baked goods. There were still a good amount of customers dining in at 2:30pm on a Saturday, but there was no line at the time, and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They were already sold out of the Ham & Butter Baguette, but the rest of the sandwiches were still available. I ended up trying their Saucisson (Journeyman Salami, Dijon Butter, Gruyere, Frisee, $17, yelp.com/user_local_phot…), which was hefty sandwich, and enough for two meals for me (when adding chips or a side salad). All the ingredients were quality, and I really liked their bread with the salami- recommended!I will be back to try their other sandwiches, and hope to catch the pastrami and/or Wagyu roast beef (it seems like they rotate their menu occasionally. Indoor seating was available, as were a couple of benches for outdoor seating. Street parking was ok to find at the time, but this area can get really busy.

I'm trying to align with the hype and other reviews but I just can't. As someone who works in Healdsburg, I was stoked that there was finally going to be a decent sandwich shop on the square. I had heard great things about Quail and Condor so I thought I would give it a shot. The space itself is quite quaint. Looks like they added an additional kitchen or bakery to part of the space. I believe the cupcake shop before had a little more space. Anyways, it was quite busy which is always a good sign. I was checking out all the options but knew I was there for a sandwich. Thought I would go with the turkey pesto but opted for the Journeyman's salami and cheese (I couldn't pronounce the name of the sandwich). Honestly, it was just okay. The bread was really good, probably the best part. The salami and mustard they chose didn't really mesh well with my tastes. I also thought there were way too many greens on it and ended up pulling more of it off. It just left something to be desired. Sure it was good but it wasn't $17 good. For $17 it should be the best sandwich I've ever had. I have paid less for better. Also, all the sandwiches are pre-made and sitting out. I find that just a little weird. I would expect a fresh sandwich at that price point. Something about that just didn't sit right. I will go back to try something else and possibly update my review but for now. It's okay. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, sure, try it out. I still do want to check out Quail & Condor so that'll be my stop next week.
