Unique Omakase New York Reviews from The Last Year
This was an amazing experience for omakase! I see why this
This was an amazing experience for omakase! I see why this place is called unique omakase... I got to try many things I haven't before and I loved them all! I got to try different fishes and abalone for the first time. I also had monk fish liver for the second time and loved it even more here. Every course was so carefully curated and tasted even better than it looked. The restaurant itself was great with such a nice sushi counter. The chefs were so nice as were the wait staff. I'll be coming back!
I came here to enjoy omakase.
There was a party in which the people were drunk and somehow affecting my experience. The chef gave me a free course and added more uni (sea urchin) to the courses which I enjoyed a lot. I'd definitely come back to this place.
This place has decent omakase for a decent price ($120/pp).
Omakase for 2, a bottle of sake, and 2 Sapporo beers came out to $360, including tax and tip. The sushi chef is very nice and explains what each piece is as it's served. The service is great overall. I wasn't a particular fan of the fish liver which were unfortunately 2 of the 16 pieces served.
Chef Ken is amazing.
Unique Omakase has a very run down look on the outside, and a very generic sounding name, but the food inside is great. Chef Ken prepared each part of the omakase with different flavors and they used a great variety of fish. Some omakase places give you a lot of the standard fish (salmon, yellowtail, tuna) with little variety but we had fish like dorade royale and kuromutsu here in addition to the standards. Most importantly, you felt the difference in taste of the different fish. The setting is intimate, about 12 seats I think, with each chef responsible for 6 people each. I never felt rushed like at some omakase places and the chef spoke both English and Chinese to explain each piece. I also read another yelp review commenting that the chef is chinese. It is funny when people mention the ethnicity or sex of the chef when what matters is how the food tastes and Chef Ken made the food taste great. Even when you go to Michelin star omakase restaurants, the main chef whose Japanese name may be on the restaurant may not even be there so guess who is preparing your sushi? It's clear that Chef Ken had the training and practice to do justice to the fish. Is this going to be the best omakase you've ever had? Of course not. But unique omakase 100% punches above its weight and is worth the money you spend there (Currently $96 for 16 courses - 3 appetizers, 11 nigiri, 1 handroll and 1 dessert). Will definitely be coming again.

I've been to a ton of omakase spots in NYC and this one is definitely up there with the best. It's 16 courses for $96 which is one of the best deals I've seen, but what really makes it special is how fresh & creative each course is. The staff is extremely nice and answered all of our questions about where the fish came from and why it's paired with certain things. Also the fact that it's BYOB is a major win for New Yorkers.

12/10 recommend for a wonderful and delicious dinner in a low key environment. Big hole-in-the-wall vibes and the food is amazinggggg. The inside is very nice with only bar seating (10-16 max) which is great because you get to see the chefs put together the beautiful creations for you to eat. Each piece is unique with such a wide range of flavors. The staff is super friendly, attentive and easy to get to know. They remember people and take care of return customers. $85 for 15 (!) courses is totally reasonable, especially given the experience. Hope y'all will go show them some love and support!

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
