Urfa's food is delicious! Their daily specials are always worth trying, but I especially love the chicken shish (kabob) plate, with the grilled pepper and grilled tomato. The tzatziki is better than any other tzatziki I've tasted. No matter what you order, it's just cooked nicely and very tasty. Even if I get food to take home, it still tastes fabulous even after the delay to get home. The people who own and manage the restaurant pay a lot of attention, and it shows. Everyone is very friendly and service is always excellent. Urfa has nice outdoor seating, which is great in warm weather. Inside, it's quiet, friendly and pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently excellent food and service.
We love their dairy-free yet creamy soups. Fabulous selection of meze and mains. Great seating options outside, inside, or in covered back patio.

Great, friendly service. Lovely ambience. We love Urfa Bistro and go there often. It's our favorite restaurant in Los Altos. For desert be sure to try their Kunafa - it is sublime. Try it with some Turkish coffee. A great combination for desert.

Their salmon dish is my favorite, offering a unique culinary journey that truly stands out. The ambiance of the place strikes a unique balance between cozy and relaxing. Equally important is the staff's warmth and attentiveness, which further elevates the overall experience. Urfa Bistro has become my favorite dining spot.

The Feta rolls were very tasty would definitely order them again! Also the steak was pretty good loved the sauce and the potatoes that came along with it! Service was ok they are very slow so just know that or maybe let them know in advance. The table next to us took 15 minutes to be greeted! They had outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day to sit outside.

Came here to celebrate my anniversary and it was my first time here. I found this place from a site that does reservations and not a lot of places were open on this day. I'm so glad I did because this place is such a gem. Service was great, and all the servers were so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was so cozy and family friendly. I don't know the relationship of the servers here but the vibes gives off a family run restaurant vibe. We ordered the Dolmas, Tzatziki, Beyti Kebab (grilled lamb and beef wrapped in lavash bread that has some tomato sauce and garlic yogurt), and Grill Combo (lamb chip, Urfa Kebab, chicken and beef shish). WOW everything was so good especially their main dishes. The server recommended the Beyti Kebab to me, and I am SO glad she did. WOW because it is right up my alley. I absolutely love tomato based sauces and this sauce was just that! Not only that but it has such a deep rich tomato flavor to it. It has a nice consistency and flavor to it that complimented the meat, lavash bread and garlic yogurt SO WELL. So much flavor that I enjoyed. My partner got the Grill Combo and that was just as good. The meats were grilled PERFECTLY, so soft and tender. The flavor was good too. That grill flavor was prominent in the best way possible. The apps we got were also good. Forgive my lack of a better word but man, everything was GOOD. What a wonderful experience here and the price is friendly on the wallet too. Phenomenal place! Waiting for the day I come back!

Wonderful Food Wonderful Service Will return~ I was very thankful to be able to sit in the unoccupied back patio due to still healing my eyes, and not feeling well. While the outside, and main dining area were bustling with activity, and bright (to my sensitive eyes) the back patio was quiet, and not as bright so much more comfortable. I ordered the mixed grill, and everything was cooked perfectly. The salad dressing has yogurt in it, so I opted for the olive oil and balsamic. The salad was fresh, crisp, and bright. Ginger lemonade was perfect. If I'm not mistaken the women's bathroom has a regular toilet while the gender neutral restroom has a bidet.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently good Mediterranean food at reasonable prices.
Excellent staff, all seem to work together in friendly coordination. The owner, Zubi, is in the front of the house, working hard to ensure that everyone has a good experience, and he is friendly too. A lovely, unpretentious experience.
Be the first to ReplyHad a table outside for lunch with friends.
Food was delicious and service was prompt. I'm picky about my mediterranean food ever since I spent time in the Balkans....but theirs is top-notch. The lamb, the fish and eggplant entree were all mouth-wateringly good.
Be the first to ReplyWe took a good friend here for a double birthday lunch
We took a good friend here for a double birthday lunch after my first 5 star experience. On a rainy day we were happy to see the restaurant having pretty good business. Our waiter Bayram was pleasant and attentive from the very start, he introduced us to some Turkish wines; we had one glass red ($13), two white ($14 x 2) both wine were quite tasty. The complimentary hot homemade bread with dipping oil were as good as I remembered. We shared a few dishes together: The hot appetizer plate filled with two each of falafels, spanakopita, grilled prawns, feta rolls , one small piece of lamb rib and some pickled vege; every item was warm and tasty. Paella is still the favorite, different from the traditional Spanish version this one is moist, loaded with fresh seafood slightly spicy and very flavorful. The half branzino was good although I wish they offer a whole fish option at lunch time as well. The combo grill was a little disappointing primarily because all the meats (chicken, beef, ground lamp/beef kebabs) were dry/over cooked. Only the small lamb chop was tender. For dessert, we ordered a poached pear which was excellent. Although it came with a scoop of plain yogurt instead of the gelato but still works. We also received a complimentary bite size baklava with candle, very cute and appreciated. It was a very enjoyable experience, will come back for the paella and excellent service; hope they will improve on controlling the temperature of the grilled meats.

Urfa is our go-to restaurant for both dine in and take out lunches/dinners. We have been going to Urfa for 4 years now, and it's consistently delicious with great service. We bring our two young children, and the servers are always patient and kind to them.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Mediterranean Bistro in quaint Los Altos downtown.
Had a quick lunch outing with family. We skipped starters but got our fill of some nice bread with spiced olive oil. The Lamb Stew was delicious, the Chicken wrap was filling. Paella was nice, but not Spanish. Service was swift. Will be going back to try some more of the offerings.

Great food but there is a big room to improve the service level (the waitress' attitude towards customers is not helpful with the business).
Be the first to ReplyFantastic service and wonderful food, the olive oil dip
Fantastic service and wonderful food, the olive oil dip served at start with bread is amazing. A wonderful and reliable neighborhood spot when you are in downtown Los Altos.

Wife and I went here for lunch and ordered 2 entrees and 1 appetizer. The bill came and was again for 2 entrees and 1 appetizer. We gave them our credit card and they came back having charged us for 2 appetizers, a salad, and 2 entrees, increasing our total by 50%. How this could "accidentally" happen is beyond me, took 10 minutes to correct, and we'll never go here again. Beware.

Lovely lunch, comfortable, easy to relax and have a long pleasant conversation. Food is fresh and excellent. Next time I must order a Turkish coffee. I missed out this time.
Be the first to ReplyWe go for lunch almost every Saturday.
Love the food and service is great. My fav is their chicken salad but we ordered other items and everything was great
Be the first to ReplyWent on Valentines night.
They had a exclusive menu only for valentines. Each dish was around $40 and above and only one (rather filling) vegetarian option.Dessert was fantastic and the bread before beginning dining was really delicious.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a nice Turkish meal here on a Sunday afternoon.
We were a party of three and ordered the following :1) cold appetisers sample - nice selection and good portions . We had baba ganoush , tzatziki , hummus, dolmas and some eggplant salad , along with some pickled cauliflower . 2) hot appetisers sample - we liked this one even more ! Again , great selection of samples : lamb shank , falafel , potato - filled cigars , green salad . 3 ) kebab baked in a lavash w tomato source and yogurt . We had similar dishes when we were in Anatolia Turkey, and we love the combination of how everything is coming together .Service was great (they serve fresh warm bread with a delicious olive oil and herbs dip). All together a nice little place , worth giving it a try !
Be the first to ReplyA surprise.
All the food was delicious. Restaurant was not to loud and you could hear the conversation at the table.

Very rude manager/boss (whoever he is)with no manners how to treat his employees nor the customers. He yelled at one of his employees in front of our table using very insulting and offensive language. Second, not a kid friendly place at all. One of my children dropped her water bottle accidentally and the manager assumed she dropped their mini table lamp and screamed at the waiter to grab the mini light from the table immediately! Seriously?!??? What type of business are you running? It was her water bottle and even it was your restaurant accessories accidents do happen! He definitely made all of us very uncomfortable during the dinner and ruined our evening.Third the food is mediocre at best, not worth it!

One of our family regular dining restaurants that we have been going for years. Food, service and ambiance are excellent. Quality is the same.
Be the first to ReplyI really appreciate that this place was open on Christmas
I really appreciate that this place was open on Christmas Day. The service was quick to get us lights and a heater outside. The eggplant dip and fish was delicious. Pasta was ok hence the 1 star deduction.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly staff and excellent food.
I love their grilled meats, and the chicken salad on the lunch menu is delicious (but north of $20).I'm wishing they had soda refills and a better front patio for dining. Not sure if the patio is permanent, but it is cold out front in the cool months. They do have a few heaters.
