Wear your long underwear for outdoor dining.
Let me start by saying I know this is a particularly tough time for restaurants. But why take reservations for dinner outside when you are out of propane?
This is one of our favorite restaurant for special occasions like birthdays We did not have a pleasurable experience this year.
Small tables, icy cold metal chairs (people were sitting on their napkins!) and no outdoor heating made this a โoh my gosh, we have to keep our coats on, letโs eat quickly and get out of hereโ experience instead of a pleasurable, order drinks and have a leisurely celebratory dinner.
Food was ok, the main thing was that it came quickly.
Nice place in Palo Alto to meet friends for food and wine
Great ambiance at the bar and outside. Excellent service (tks, Antonio and Carol!). I can recommend the lager (Birra Friuli) and the octopus starter dish. I had steak for the main course but that was not as good. They are BYOB friendly. I will be back.

One of the nicest things about this restaurant is its patio. It is outside in a courtyard garden. In short, it is a very pleasant space.
The appetizers and entrees were cooked to perfection. We tried the Florentina steak and were not disappointed. The balsamic onions with the steak were a real treat.
Not sure how they got a Michelin star
One member of our party had eaten lunch here recently and thought the pasta was good, but when we went there for dinner last night, the overall impression was not good. The halibut was over-cooked the first time and had to be sent back. The second round of halibut, they gave us the tail part, and we suspect that is because we sent it back the first time. In addition, the asian-style vegetables that came on top of the halibut clashed with the fish and was not a good combination. The osso bucco was bland and lacked character. I had reviewed the wine list in advance and found there markup to be very high, so we brought our own wine instead. The wait between appetizers and entrees was quite long (30-45 minutes) even thought the restaurant was less than full. The service did not match my prior experiences with Michelin star restaurants. With all these flaws, it makes no sense that they would get a Michelin star. We probably won't go back unless we hear about marked improvements.

Good space between tables. Not too loud. A fairly generic california-italian menu, but better executed than most. Nice bar to sit at too. Love the fact that it's big enough to not feel cramped, and a little fancy in the second-date kind of way.

We randomly found this place and were pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed sitting outside. Itโs a Michelin star restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. We chose roasted red beets with goat cheese as a starter and shared a zucca pizza (itโs precut) and the fabulous gnocchis. The espressi afterwards were typical premium Italian quality!

All was well done. Solid wine list. Portions for adults not football linemen. Distinctive entree but not showing off with all the exotic additions some try.
Be the first to Replygreat, interesting food, service doesn't keep up
good food, creatively presented. service people are professional and nice when at table-side, but things don't happen quickly and requests can get ignored. Prices are high, which perhaps fits with the area, but service at similarly priced establishments is superior to what's on offer at Vina Enoteca
Be the first to Replyinteresting, good food but service needs work
good, โmodernโ italian food with some unique vegan options. tasty, and thoughtfully prepared and presented. service, though, doesnโt match up to the food. v e r y slow. waitstaff is friendly when theyโre table side, but several requests didnโt get much follow up. admittedly we asked the waiter once for more time to study the menu. we ordered just one main dish each. we were at the restaurant 45 - 50 minutes before those dishes arrived. prior to the food coming, we also waited about 15 - 20 minutes for wine after ordering it. we mentioned we were waiting for wine to at least two staff, but it still took 5 - 10 min after that to get it. one would think that even if they only cared about selling you a second glass, theyโd get the first glass out faster. assuming they do care about overall customer experience, waiting that long for a glass of wine was a lesser experience than the price and venue suggested.

My family of three have eaten here many times in the last 2-3 weeks, every time sitting on the lovely patio with the eye-pleasing abundant lavender close by.
Weโve enjoyed the Polpo appetizer, Orecchiette pasta, and the Puttanesca, Margherita, and Impossible pizzas. All the dishes have been satisfyingly delicious. Iโve ordered the impossible pizza at least 4 times, obviously my favorite. The pizza crust is the best ever, hands down!
