I don't understand why there's such a line here (went for Sunday brunch) because the food was not good, even for diner food, and it wasn't super quick. My omelette came over cooked for my preference (and I also have never seen such a brown omelette haha) and I know I can make better, fluffier ones at home. Vibes reminded me of an ihop or Waffle House but more expensive. Compared to New York though, was on cheaper side ($13)

There was a line out the door and we were seated very quickly. Once seated we had someone bring us waters without asking, coffee was brought. After 5 minutes we ordered our food and it took 5 minutes and our food came out warm and delicious! Super happy! If you can make it come, fantastic service!
Be the first to ReplyThis Diner has literally everything you can think of.
We recently moved to the neighborhood and it was a nice late night bite to grab :)

I ordered fettuccine and chicken noodle soup. The food tasted amazing. However it wasn't until I got to the bottom of my plate that I saw the long curly black hair wrapped up with my noodles. Absolute horror and disgust. Now, the food tasted so good and I'm pregnant so when I have a craving I gotta fulfill it. Plus I have almost no energy and this place was right by our hotel. So i went back. Again, the food tasted amazing. I ordered a BLT this time and I loved our server too, he was very nice. But I got halfway through my glass of milk before I looked at it and realized they gave me a dirty glass. It had brown smudges and there was specks floating in my drink. Utterly horrified and disgusted again.

We ordered the Red White, and Blue French Toast and the Chocolate Nut Blast French Toast. Food was great, I give it a 4/5. If you like sweets I highly recommend the French Toast. Service was good, even though it was busy it was quick and our waiter was nice. The ambiance it's okay, nothing fancy but clean.

Dropped by for dinner on a Friday evening after going to RiseNy in Times Square; we wanted to avoid the tourists/crowds but had to stay in the area since brother's bus leaves from port authority, so the location of this diner was convenient for us. Staff were friendly and welcoming; service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious! I ordered a chicken salad triple decker with whole wheat (a must-order for me every time I try a diner), and brother ordered the Mediterranean panini. Chicken salad was perfect - it's the more finely minced type, not the chunky type, bacon was crispy perfection, the fries that came with it were excellent. Brother loved his panini but was slightly disappointed by his fries (he seems to have gotten the nubs and ends but it's fine because I couldn't finish mine); then we shared a slice of yummy carrot cake. Would def come back if I'm in the area and looking for food.

We came here for breakfast, it was full but the service was fast. Ee enjoyed very much the speed of the kitchen and the servers. The ambiance is great too, Families, locals and tourists.

Great food good portions prices reasonable definitely a great stop if you're tight on a budget I would give it 5 starts but there hours are not the greatest they open at 8AM and close at 9PM I know these days staffing is probably an issue like anywhere else so I wont hold it against them but sure is a place to check out

We were looking for a place to eat dinner before a Broadway show we were about to attend - and the reviews of Westway Diner convinced us to try it here. An excellent choice! There was something available for each of us - an adult looking for a good salad, another one looking for deli food, a young vegetarian and another young adventurous eater. The food was well prepared and generously served, the service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. An outstanding find - and a location we're sure to return to!

This place is the BEST diner in Hells Kitchen, there is a reason why the line is so long on Sunday mornings! Pleasant atmosphere, good food, fast and friendly service. Nothing fancy but ticks ALL the boxes for a wonderful diner! It is my go diner to in the area.
Be the first to ReplyVery straightforward diner here.
All the usual diner food on the menu, it gets busy, the staff move quickly. Some people don't like when the staff are especially fast-paced, but I don't mind less interaction with my server as long as they're getting stuff done. I sat at the bar, they got me some water and a menu right away. After about 3-5 mins, the guy behind the bar approached and asked if I was ready. Perfect timing--not too soon, not too long. I was looking for a steak and eggs but couldn't find it on the menu right away, he pointed it out, I ordered the Ribeye cooked MR with eggs scrambled with cheese. Complementary side of white toast. Water refill was quick, and my food was in front of me within about 10 mins from time of order. Awesome. I'd read reviews before I came, and as expected, the steak wasn't seasoned very well. Cooked perfectly MR--just not seasoned much. Totally fine by me, as this is a quick and easy diner with pricing to reflect it. My server gave me salt, pepper, and A1 at the same time as my food, so I seasoned my plate up and enjoyed my meal! So yeah, didn't wait long for anything, my server was cool and just as attentive as I needed, food was exactly what I expected. Zero qualms. I will definitely be coming back for easy quick breakfasts in the future. Someone recommended Pershing Square to me, but they're a bit pricier, and I feel like I would have regretted spending so much money if i'd gone there. Here, I left full and satisfied in a timely manner, feeling like I got my money's worth, which is, sadly, fairly uncommon when I eat out in NYC.

The male waiters at Westway (all except Spiro who is great) are male chauvinists. The last few times I went I was told to:"Sit down" when I asked for water (when I go alone I don't get water for some reason), and " I'm busy" (when I asked for coffee), "you will have to wait" (when THE WAITER made a mistake and brought out the wrong muffin), and when the waiter forgot my food he responded, "you were late" (apparently I can't join my husband a minute later at the table or I won't get my food). However,When my husband asks for coffee he gets the response," Right away, Sir". (Interesting as I have the money, and I pay and give fantastic tips, oh, and for the record, I had waited tables for 20 years so I'm not clueless). So guess what guys- you lost my business! Cheers
Be the first to ReplyWestway diner is a staple in Hell's Kitchen.
I have no idea how long it's been there but it seems as though people love it and they keep going back. Every time we are there I see the same faces pretty much. We went in tonight and I got my usual which is the triple decker tuna salad sandwich with fries. I also ordered the zucchini sticks. The sandwich obviously is delicious because I order it over and over. The sticks I didn't care for at all. They were bland and had no flavor - to me. To others maybe they will like them, but for me they were a no. Service can be a little crazy here but all in all it's a good spot to get a quick bite.

We stopped at this diner for breakfast and it was truly a hidden gem. Everything was fantastic- from the greeting at the entrance, the customer service and the delicious food that arrived in a NY minute! Definitely recommend for nice Homestyle breakfast.

Service is FAST!! Food is great!! Anything you'd want to eat in New York City, you could pretty much get here.Servers are fast paced but very friendly and polite.Best eatery in Time Square area!
Be the first to ReplyVisit Date: January 29, 2022So I'm a crazy lunatic.
I drove into Manhattan during a blizzard to hopefully exchange two past dated tickets to the show from 2001 that my co-worker was kind enough to give me. Luckily despite the blizzard practically crippling Long Island, Manhattan was still going, gotta love the city. I got to exchange the tickets, I took a fellow phantom phan who was free and we got tickets to the matinee show. After the show she suggested we come here to grab food. She was nice enough to treat me and I left a tip. I had a side order of sweet potato fries with maple syrup I put the maple syrup on instead of ketchup and she had the pumpkin waffles, apparently this a pumpkin year round diner if you're a pumpkin fan but maybe only for the pumpkin waffles. This is a lovely city diner that I didn't know existed and I'm glad that my friend and fellow phan suggested we eat here. I'd come back again!
Be the first to ReplyI really didn't want to give 3 star to this restaurant
I really didn't want to give 3 star to this restaurant because the food was good, came out really fast, the restaurant looks fine, but the service is really important to me. The servers were not rude but also not friendly. I noticed that's the way they are but, a "good morning" to the customers would really make a good impact and a hug difference.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant was a pleasant surprise.
I'm visiting from California and was looking for a place to dine for breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs w/ham, potatoes, and toast. My boyfriend ordered an omelet. Both of our meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Our bill was $28.00. The service was good, I appreciate the waiter checked on us a few times to see if our food was ok and if we needed anything. Definitely coming back again when I come to New York.

Westway Diner is an unfussy NYC diner in Hell's Kitchen, and as other reviewers have said, it's not trying to be something different. We popped in for breakfast one morning in October as we were staying nearby and had tickets to a matinee and wanted something hearty to tide us over. It was busy, we had to wait about 6 minutes or so before being able to go inside. They had a guy working the door checking vax cards, but it wasn't exactly clear where to go to line up. We ordered standard diner food: pancakes, eggs, toast, and homefries for me and an omelette and homefries for my partner. The food was average. The pancakes were dry (even after adding butter and syrup), the eggs and potatoes were underseasoned. Servers were wearing their masks under their noses, and it was hard to flag someone for refills on water. I will skip Westway for another diner next time I'm looking.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent diner near Times Square.
Food and service is excellent. Go for a bite of authentic New York!
Be the first to ReplyNice diner.
Friendly staff. Good diner food and it comes out fast; especially if you're trying to make a matinee.
