I had a taste for Kung Pao Shrimp & don't know what was prepared. I had a container with mostly zucchini & small shrimp. There weren't any broccoli and hardly any carrots. I saw perhaps 4 or 5 small square pieces that you find in Campbell's soup. The quality of Chinese food was not in this dish. There were no hot peppers at all. Very disappointing flavor even the egg rolls and money wasted tonight.
Be the first to ReplyWe eat at Yank Sing a lot and it never disappoints.
The Singapore noodles are the best I've had and the buffet is always fresh.

Not many choices for Chinese food in Lake Charles, and this place was one of the few places open on a Sunday. We ordered the general tso's chicken, pepper steak, pork fried rice, and shrimp with lobster sauce. The pork fried rice and the shrimp with lobster sauce were the only dishes that tasted anything resembling what we ordered. The general tso's chicken was a bit bland and quite soupy, which was a bit shocking. The pepper steak was completely bland, and tasted more like tofu (with no seasoning). The fried rice that comes with entrees is quite boring, with almost no other ingredients or seasoning to make it palatable. At least the pork fried rice entree resembled what typical fried rice should taste like. Maybe the buffet is better?

I recently went after church, the buffet was reasonable at $11.99 for adults and kids are cheaper (can't remember). It was pretty busy while I was there since it was about lunch time for everyone. The staff were very busy keeping up with filling up the buffet with fresh food. Which I believe they did a spectacular job. They were all nice and smiled. There was no bad energy there. My whole family and also watched other customers and we all look very pleased. Yes the buffet was smaller than the bigger places but the food was great. All the chicken was great and the egg rolls are out of this world which are better than the expensive places you may go to. I actually recommend this place over La Star with the overall experience. I definitely will be going back
Be the first to ReplyWe've ordered twice and picked up from here.
It's okay Chinese food. We ordered because I love sesame chicken and they actually have that on the menu. It's a little overpriced. First time the chicken was okay, but the second time it was very hard as if it had been over cooked and sitting. We'll keep it on an every now and then rotation but it's a little pricey for what it is.
Be the first to ReplyI have never had worse tasting Chinese food in my life.
We ordered pepper steak, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, roast pork lo mein, shrimp with lobster sauce, and egg rolls. The taste was horrible. We actually did not finish eating any of it, and threw it in the trash. We are not wasteful people, so for us to throw out food, it has to be bad. I would rate this with zero stars if it were an option. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the Kung Pow chicken.
It was terrible. The meat didn't even look like chicken. It was really tough and hard to chew as if it were rewarmed chicken. This was our first visit and probably our last. It is a shame as we like to support local businesses.

Family run business. The owner is really cool and the food is awesome.
Be the first to ReplyCharged me 7.
95 for my 1 year old to eat. I didn't realize it until I had got to my car and went over the tab in my head. Called back and the girl said they just charge by how much your kid ate. So basically they get to decide what to charge you before you even eat Lost a customer tonight for sure.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has been hit or miss depending on the dish.
However, I'm afraid there has been more misses than hits. Yank Sing will never be my first choice for Chinese food. I always order off the menu and the quality is low (I've had Chinese buffet food with better quality, and I DETEST buffets). If you must dine here, keep it simple. Chicken dishes are best. Stay away from the beef! Good luck!
Be the first to ReplyDo not eat here.
I got food poisoning from a dish ordered and ended up in the hospital because I couldn't keep any water down. I was severely dehydrated, awful cramping, vomiting bile (because there was nothing left to throw up) and I still have diarrhea the next day--but luckily I'm eating and can hold water down. This cheap food isn't worth a trip to the ED or a day missed from work
Be the first to ReplyI picked this restaurant based on its 4 star rating.
But I didn't get 4 star food. The flavor was okay and the egg rolls were pretty good, nice and crunchy, but the sesame chicken was soggy. The texture of the chicken and breaking felt like it had been sitting in sauce all day long. Pretty gross, could only eat one or two pieces at the top of the container. Just passing through lake Charles, won't order from here again if I'm ever back. Delivery was quick that was a plus.
Be the first to ReplyThis used to be my favorite Chinese Reataurant.
I thought the decor was quaint and very clean. However, the last couple times we ordered, everything was just a bit off. The fried rice tasted like it had freezer burn, did not taste freshly prepared. The orange beef was overdone and tough. My chicken and vegetables tasted bland and tired. Very disappointing.

This is the true definition of a hole in the wall with great food! It's small and quaint, but don't let that fool you. The food is outstanding! General Tso's chicken is slamming! The egg rolls, rice and the Hot and sour soup are hands down the best around.
