My wife and I visited this establishment and we had high expectations based on the stellar Tripadvisor reviews. However, as much as Tripadvisor is more right than wrong, this time is one of those rare occasions that it was completely wrong. Firstly, all the servers speak English as their second language and some struggle with it. I completely understand that since the restaurant and Miami restaurant likely serves more Latinos than Anglos. We started by ordering traditional mojitos, which were tasty. Forget about ordering a salad here since I guess that those don't exist in Peruvian Cuban fusion restaurants. My wife ordered the Churrasco A Lo Pobre ... basically a grilled skirt steak. It took a while, but she was able to flag down the server for a steak knife sauce the du jour knife was adequate for cutting softened butter, but nothing more than that. And please forget about bread service; there's none that here either. I had the Tacu Tacu Mero Macho, a seafood medley including grouper and a bunch of crustaceans. It might have been salvageable if it wasn't for the overly salted and sickeningly thick sea of sauce that it was swimming in. Ugh! Yes, I did inform our server, but she shrugged my complaints off and was well aware of these issues. We did not wish to attempt ordering a dessert here...way too risky. The coup de grace was having the handheld credit card device miscalculating the tip (it based the tip on the meal PLUS the taxes). So be careful! Would we return??? Unequivocally NO! I'm done with Juan Chipoco restaurants: completely overated and disappointing. If you want great Cuban food, go to Bello Cuba about a block away. Forget the fusion.
