Zoo Café Budapest Reviews
Strange
Crazy place, do not know what to make of it. Fun on the one hand, on the other seems a bit sad for all these animals. Cats were lovely though, maybe make a cat cafe?
Cake and milkshakes with awesome company!
The staff are fun and knowledgeable. The animals are fab. It’s a great idea and we loved it as a family. Definitely book as it was booked for days.
Great unique experience in Budapest!
We loved our time at the Zoo cafe, it was a highlight of our trip to Budapest! It is a lovely cafe that offers such a unique experience with the animals. The zoo keepers were brilliant, the lady passing the animals to us was very knowledgeable and caring to the animals, sharing clear instructions how to look after the animals to ensure they are comfortable. We enjoyed the ice cream iced latte and cup of tea, keeping the drinks clear of the animals! It was a great experience. Make sure you book in advance! There are set times for bookings as they work with the animals at set timings (every 1.5hrs when we went in August 25). Highly recommended!
Wow
Wow, unique and cool place. You have to book in advance which is understandable because it is small and popular. Staff had a lot of knowledgeable about the animals and you can tell they love them. We got just drinks as the animals go on your table. My boyfriend absolutely loves animals so this was amazing for him. Very special place, and it’s a must go to if you ask us! Thank you
Zoo Cafe
What a fantastic idea. Firstly it’s very clear that all of the animals are very well looked after and cared for. The staff are knowledgable and clearly explain how to hold the animals and what to do/not to do. We made a reservation via email a few days before visiting. When you enter you are shown to your table and given a menu and the cafe rules which are clear. The cats and some birds are free roaming and really friendly. We had 5 animals brought out on rotation during our visit. A small rabbit, tortoise, snake, lizard and chameleon. After the animals have been collected after the final rotation and you have paid your bill you can then have a wander around and see the other animals. Each visit lasts for 90 minutes. We really enjoyed it, it was unique and the kids loved it and it’s even better because it’s clear the animals are looked after. Would definitely recommend.
Zoo cafe
Animals seem well cared for, staff knowledgeable about the animals(how to hold them etc). The cats are free roaming the entire time and other animals are on a rotation where they come to your table and are then moved on. Animals on the rotation I was in were tortoises, snakes, rabbits, bearded dragon and a chameleon (I think) Maybe the rotation of animals should be announced first so if anyone doesn’t want a particular animal they can ask- I didn’t want the snake so I told them this when they brought it to my table so I just sat out that rotation without an animal. A parrot was free flying around also Cats are beautiful and well cared for (rules not to wake them up and move them which I liked so they aren’t bothered) however they seem interested in the other animals (of course this is innate in them) but worried me as when I was holding animals like the lizards one cat came onto my table or near me a few times and I was worried he might try and hurt him. Staff did move the cat once they saw this though. Food wasn’t great and had limited options but you go more for the experience than the food. Animals are at your table as you are eating so maybe I’d recommend getting a coffee or drink over food- not sure if this is definitely allowed as one rule is consumption required which I understand as entry is free- so worth checking. Overall I’d recommend the zoo cafe if you are an animal lover

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Zoo Café Budapest at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Zoo Café Budapest page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Zoo Café Budapest to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Zoo Café Budapest!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
