Zou Zou's has a great vibe when walk through the wooden
Zou Zou's has a great vibe when walk through the wooden doors. It was dimly lit at the front, but it set a nice relaxed tone. The restaurant had an option for bag check which I don't encounter that often, but it's a great perk for travelers and professionals bustling in and out. We went for lunch and the menu was actually quite limited. There were only a few options plus a few more salads. None of the mains really stood out to me, and I was surprised lamb wasn't on the lunch menu. I ordered Filet Mignon Fattoush, Manti, Latkes, and Brussel Sprouts. The Fattoush was underwhelming as the salad was mostly undressed red cabbage with not much variation. There were some pecans included with offered a nice sweetness. The latkes were way too oily, only tasting good when combined with the red cabbage. They were missing some freshness. The manti looked beautiful, and they tasted pretty okay. More seasoning would have been nice. The brussel sprouts were deliciously crispy and truly a joy to eat. It could have used more honey to enhance the flavor but it was good. Where Zou Zou's really shone was with the dips and bazlama. The whipped ricotta melted in my mouth, and I enjoyed the hint of sweetness with the apricots. The standout was the smoked carrot dip with hazelnut and pomegranate. It was a prefect combination of crunchy and sweet. Every bite was such a treat! Zou Zou's was an enjoyable experience, but I do think the food was lacking in adequate seasoning. I wouldn't come back for the lunch menu but I'd like to try dinner

Wow! I literally could not praise Zou Zou's enough, and, after my visit, I completely understood why it was always so challenging to secure a reservation there. First off, the space was beautiful! It was large, buzzing, and reminded me of a classy Parisian bistro. The host staff was excellent and sat me immediately, even without my companion for the evening, who arrived several moments later. We were then quickly greeted by our waiter, Josh K., who was by far the friendliest and most helpful server I had had in years. He was a true gem! When it came to ordering, we were very tempted by the $74 chef's tasting menu, which included dips, 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert, all served family-style. Even though it was crafted without some of the items we really wanted from the a la carte menu, it seemed like an excellent deal. We decided to start with a drink, while we debated our food options. Neither of us was up for booze that night, so we were thrilled to see that some of the cocktails were available non-alcoholic. I went with the NA version of the Road to Jericho, which was a tart, sweet blend of pomegranate, fig, and orange blossom. It was delightful, and I preferred it to my brother's NA Medjool Daiquiri with pineapple, dates, and lime. We soon settled on the Chef's Tasting and were so happy that we had, as it was a ton of food for the price. First came the 5 Dip Tower with small bowls of various spreads: chickpea hummus with black garlic oil, ember-roasted eggplant with spiced peppers, whipped ricotta with saffron apricots, green tahini with aquafaba and cilantro, and smoked carrot with hazelnuts and pomegranate seeds. While all of the fluffy dips were tasty, the ricotta with sweet fruit was our absolute favorite. We also enjoyed the accompanying Bazlama fluffy bread and the unique utensil replacements in the form of cruditè (mini-carrots, cucumber spears, and radicchio leaves). Right after our spreads arrived, the mezze came to the table. It was a bit too much food at once, which Josh also noticed, so he requested that the kitchen slow down the procession. The Fattoush salad included sweet, honeycrisp apples and candied pecans. It was topped with a large, thin crisp cracker-type thing. The Manti were puff pastry bites that were stuffed with spiced beef and served with a garlicky labneh. The Hamachi Crudo was seasoned with ginger blossom, coriander, and sesame. All 3 dishes were fantastic and varied enough to make for a really diverse start to the meal. As stuffed as we were by the conclusion of that substantial first course, we had to continue on to the entrees. There was a delicate Grilled Branzino, seasoned with chermoula and shiso, and served with braised escarole. The Yemeni Filet Mignon Au Poivre Kebab offered large chunks of tender beef served on a lengthy metal skewer. In addition to the mains, we received sides of Charred Broccoli and Wadi Rum Jeweled Rice, which contained almonds, currants, cheese (yogurt?), and much more. I adored it all, but could have done without the heavily burned flavor of the broccoli. We wound up with some leftovers, which we packed up in order to save some room for the Kataifi Cheesecake. The beautiful dessert offered spheres of sweet, creamy cheese, sandwiched between two large, thin, crispy round cookie-like discs. It was further topped with some other type of crunchy strands. It was unbelievable! I had not been as completely satisfied with a dining experience in quite some time. I instantly starting thinking about my next visit to Zou Zou's...

Be the first to ReplyI loved my meal at Zou Zou's.
I went for a Ramadan Iftar, and it did not disappoint. All of the food was exceptional. The mezzes were incredible - I have to give a special mention to the Hot Kasseri Cheese and the Mushroom Special. The Roasted Sweet Potato was delicious - it was definitely a highlight of the meal. The mains were great too - the kebab was cooked to perfection. The Moroccan Fried Chicken was also good, but the other dishes were better in my opinion. For dessert, we had the Lemon Frozen Yogurt, which was to die for, and it was such a perfect ending to the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful - the architecture and design is so unique and elegant, and it is very eye catching and pleasing to look at. The service was also among the best I've ever received - the food came quite quick and it was very fresh, and the servers were so friendly and kind. They truly made us feel welcome and they made the experience very enjoyable and comfortable. I loved Zou Zou's and would definitely return again!
Be the first to ReplySome of the best food I've had in a long time.
High end with careful thought toward ingredients, sticking to Mediterranean flavors but elevated and fun. Flombayed cheese was amazing. The signature dips was just delicious. Meat was tender. Everything was spot in. Even the sides and salad. Service was also impeccable. Only issue was they were extra packed and we had to wait a while before our table. Like 20 mins even with a res. But I forgive that in exchange for having a truly perfect menu. Bravo chef

Came for dinner as a group of 4 and did the 5 course chef's menu ($74/person). You get each dish on the menu, portioned for the size of your group. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and large, with a big bar and open kitchen. It is a bit loud, but at least the tables are not on top on each other. The food was good overall, but some dishes were far better than others. The dishes we did not enjoy as much were the hamachi (too salty) and branzino (cooked nicely, just lacking in overall flavor and the escarole it came with was not very enjoyable and a bit wilted). The fattoush was okay, nothing to write home about, but refreshing. The stars of the evening were the dips, manti (4 pieces), kasseri cheese, duck borek and filet mignon kebab (5 pieces). The jeweled rice was good, but served in a small bowl for 4 people. The broccoli was alright, while I love harissa, I don't think it paired well in this dish. The desserts were good, grilled pineapple and the cheesecake (not at all like a cheesecake, but very tasty). The pineapple was a bit too sweet for me, but everyone enjoyed it. Overall a nice meal, we were not rushed despite the restaurant being busy and packed and the portions overall were good, we left feeling full.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing!!! We loved the dips especially.
The desserts were also incredible!! The staff here is super friendly and attentive- our waiter, August, was awesome. Can't wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyMy bestie and I had a wonderful time at Zou Zou.
The food was fancy and delicious!!! I still eat the food in my dreams lol. Mike was very kind and patient explaining the menu and making sure that the dishes were to our taste. The decor, ambiance, and service are top-notch. You'll enjoy your time here. I look forward to be back!

AMAZING !! definitely a restaurant that maybe not popular as others but 100 percent recommend! Ambience and food was 10/10. The service was good as well, we didn't have any issues as per some reviews said otherwise. We came here for a bday celebration before a show at Madison square garden therefore recommend if need to dine prior concert or shows at MSG-Walking distance from location. Zou Zou is a Mediterranean restaurant serving delicious shareable plates. Cocktails were so refreshing and delicious. Recommend blueberry girl and road to jBeautifully decor with a beautiful bar lounge. Highly recommend their fire roasted leg lamb and long bone rib steak. The lamb was incredible! As per apps their dips served on a pedestal, Yemeni Au Poivre Kebab so delicious! Also must try their charred broccoli. Dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake -wow !

This is a really spacious Mediterranean spot in Hell's Kitchen. I love the high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows - it really opens up the space. The apps we got were good. My favorite was the mezze platter that came with 5 different dips, a vegetable cup, and some pita bread. We also ordered a dumpling-like app that was fried on the outside and held beef inside. Delicious! I ordered the burger, which was good, but my friend got the caesar salad and that look amazing. The caesar plate was huge and they do a great job of presentation. The fries were too potato-ey for my liking (I prefer crispy over potato) but they came in cool spiral shapes.

Simply amazing! If you love Mediterranean food, you must try this restaurant! The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing. The service did not go unnoticed. My water glass stayed topped off haha
Be the first to ReplyThe food was underwhelming.
. chicken was barely seasoned, tuna tartar had some fishy tasting pieces. Cheese was tasteless. The best thing about it was the flambé.. also, why bring that after the last main dish? Service was decent.. if we ever come back we'll just have a drink and the green tahini dip which was really good !!

We were very excited to try this place because we love Quality Branded restaurants and booked a lunch restaurant. They sat us in a huge booth which was so comfortable and the restaurant had good vibes. We ordered the 3 dips with bazlama to start. We had the burger, fattoush salad and quinoa salad and then the cheesecake for dessert. Really good and offered a slight spin on classic Mediterranean. We were so disappointed by the service. The food took over an hour to come out. We waited for just the apps (dips and bazlama) for 40 minutes and we had to hunt someone down every time we wanted our waters refilled. This probably isn't on our list of places to revisit, but maybe their dinner service is better!

We stopped in, 5 of us for a friend's 50th birthday, on a Sunday afternoon and it was a magnificent surprise! Everything from the decor, the service, the cocktails, and the food blew us away. We will definitely be back and tell all our friends. I've worked in hospitality for over 20 years and every moment of our time there spoke to the beauty of what we all try to bring our guests. Thank you!

Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Experience: 5/5I had an amazing birthday dinner at Zou Zou's last year and finally had the time to write a proper review, so here it is. Upon walking in, I was struck by how beautiful the interior of the restaurant is. There was incredible service to match, and both the hosts and the wait staff were warm and attentive. Our waiter made some really helpful recommendations, and we decided to eat family-style.We started off with all five dips, every single one of which was amazing (especially the kabocha squash) and the roasted sweet potato. For entrees, we shared the lobster tagine and the duck borek, both of which were packed with flavor although definitely much smaller than we initially anticipated. We ended the night with the baklava cheesecake and the rum-soaked charred pineapple, which, unlike the entrees, were massive and some of the best restaurant desserts I've ever had. In fact, I had to package up and take home about half of each dessert, since there was too much for just three people to eat. Overall, if you're looking for a memorable dinner for a special occasion (or even just to treat yourself to a fancy night out), Zou Zou's should definitely be at the top of your list!
Be the first to ReplyWent for my birthday.
I heard that the dips are a must so my partner and I got all five dips! The bread was amazing and the crudité was crisp. Enjoyed all five dips but the green tahini was my favorite. We shared the grilled sea bass and added two sidesThe ambiance during dinner was sexy. The restaurant wasn't too noisy. The service was great. The manager was very attentive and made sure our wine glasses were full

A really cute spot at the Pendry Manhattan West! We came here for a late dinner and it did not disappoint. The vibe is modern, chic and contemporary. We had a great server who was attentive and efficient. We started off with the dips and let me tell you, you have to get this for an appetizer if you don't have any dietary restrictions! We had the Ember-Roasted Eggplant, Whipped Ricotta and Kabocha Squash. They were paired with a delicious Bazlama flatbread. For my main course, I had the Smoked Cherry Baby Lamb Chops + brussel sprouts as a side. They were fantastic, especially paired with the cherries. Lastly, for dessert, we had the Kataifi Cheesecake. It was light, airy and quite tasty. If you're looking for a chic and sophisticated spot serving Eastern Mediterranean fare, this is it
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service was top notch.
The only reason for 4 stars is for the loud music they play in the restaurant. It was very hard to have a conversation if your in a bigger party.

all about ambiance and location for this placenot worth the money or the timestaff was overwhelmed, many hands but not much coordination. waited 20 minutes for a 8pm reservation. service was rushed and not very attentive at all. the place is entirely too loud and seating for table of two is cramped and uncomfortable. not recommended. the food was ok, though flavorful, not worth the money. i will not return or recommend.

Had to wait about 10 min for our table on a Tuesday night, despite having a reservation. Saw that walk ins were not available. All the food was really great and the ambiance was nice too. We asked for all of our food to be packed, and the waitress said they dont pack the dips that but she'd make an exception.

Loud and chockablock with diners in a lofty, Jules Verne like setting where the amazing food hits keep coming. Terrific for large groups to share whole leg of lamb, big steak and unique, delicious Mediterranean appetizers. Not so good if you're a looking to talk over a quiet dinner. A complimentary red cabbage salad had our group of ten buzzing, as did wonderful spices that none of us seemed to have tasted before. Very attentive wait staff. Lots of fun.
Be the first to ReplyReally incredible food.
The wait staff was kind and incrediy attentive. Plus there's a great bar upstairs of you want to keep the party going. Great spot for a birthday or group dinner and get a bunch of small plates to share.
