Very average big hype for nothing prices in orbit , good service, ambience, hype without the backing . I don't know why they make a big deal or how they can make this a membership place,

The service is always top notch, and I love the atmosphere of the inside as well as the comfortable lanai. The food is delicious and the quality is fresh. The ginger salad is probably the best I've had. I really recommend the Wagyu Sando and make sure to finish with desert.
Be the first to ReplyWe were guests with friends that are members.
We thought this had some of the absolute best food we have ever had. The sushi was over the top and the cheeseburger made with what looked like wonder bread was over the top. The service was very good and fun vibe. It's hard to become a member here but hopefully it will loosen up a bit. I would gladly make the drive from Palm Beach for an early dinner and drive home. I was very surprised to see any negative reviews. We highly recommend this place. My only complaint we have not made membership yet
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a pre-fix menu work dinner that was alright.
Food wasn't anything special. Came again for eat a la carte and the food, particularly the sushi, was fantastic. The seafood was so fresh and just melted in your mouth. Service was exceptional. Team would come often to check in on our food orders as well as to pour us wine. Definitely felt well taken care of. Ambiance is elegant. Great place for drinks.

Came here for a work lunch and it wasn't very crowded at 1:00pm. We were seated immediately without a reservation. We sat outside and took a look at the menus. We were offered water but we went with tap (it's $10 per person for still or sparkling water). We got mock-tails instead for $12 per drink which is the way to go. We also got the bento boxes which had plenty of food. I got the teriyaki salmon ($39) which came with rice, spicy cucumbers, spinich and a spicy tuna sushi roll. The service was too notch and I'd definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyDo not go to this place.
It's a tourist trap and highway robbery at its finest. Should have known to leave when the waiter said the sandwiches were the size of 1 slider for $39.

ZZs is a private supper club in the heart of the Design District. Overall, the food was really good. We tried almost everything on the menu...from steak to fish to sushi to dumplings and salads. The shrimp dumplings were a standout to me. My only gripe was that all of the food seemed to have a similar taste profile. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well a bar and lounge upstairs. We had a group reservation for 10 ppl that turned into 15 and they were flexible with accommodating the additional ppl. I went on a Friday during Art Basel weekend and they also had a live salsa band. Lots of good looking and well known people were there so it's definitely a scene. Definitely check it out!
Be the first to ReplyWe were at this restaurant for lunch.
I was most shocked by the attitude and condescending way they treated us. First of all, they served us bottled water without giving us a choice. We were not informed that this is the only way you can get water, and it would cost $ 8.00 a glass!!! The orders were rushed. The food was OK, but you could get comparable food anywhere for much less. It is important for them to be more transparent about their charges and be more respectful to the clients, as Miami's food scene is very sophisticated now, and we have many great restaurants with better choices, and this confirms the comment by Sarah P on 12.22/21
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant I have eaten at hands down.
The staff is the best you will ever encounter, and the hospitality is simply amazing.

I am spoiled when it comes to eating food made the right way. This placeprovided me with great choices for which everything ordered was a dream.I was steered to this place by my daughter and her fiancé, who are truly connoisseurs of such fine food.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent.
I've been underwhelmed with the other two Major restaurants that are in Miami. Carbone is way too heavy for Florida and HaSalon is just objectively not a good restaurant..but ZZ's is excellent. The staff is wonderful, the food is great, the room is comfortable, the wines are excellent. It's a "be seen" place, but it backs it up with good quality food and service. I highly recommend the trout roe appetizer. If you like cooked fish, get the Dover Sole Meuniere. If you want sushi, get the sushi platter. I do wish they'd do a sushi platter that had two of each fish though, since it would be easier to share. As it sits, the sashimi platter has two pieces of each, and the sushi platter has one of each... I'd say they should make the sushi platter a share dish. I've tried this in the summer, never in season. I think the key is if they can keep the quality up when the place is totally packed.

Well what can I say?! The place is very well put together love the decor. The food was amazing we came for some drinks, we started with the Uni and Trout Caviar toast it was exquisite. We then went ahead and ordered the shishito peppers which where also good for starters. We then got some spring rolls as well as some shrimp dumplings. As far as drinks go we ordered the Spicy Matcha Margarita which was amazing and some gin and tonics. We then got a couple of the chicken Fois gras yakitori's they are delish and melt in your mouth. Service was A++++ the manager and waiters where always available and knowledgeable.

Well, snotty or what! My friend and I were in the area, after a very pleasant evening in the Miami Design District, and we saw this nice space with all the umbrellas (see my photography) and went to the hostess stand to enquire. We asked is this a speak easybar? diner? restaurant? and talk about look down her nose at us! She said it was a private club for private guests. HUH? I asked what does that mean? She told us you have to be a member here or you cannot get in. I said so how can anyone dine here then? She said you have to be a member and to be a member you have to be recommended by a fellow member to even be allowed in. I said how does his work? She said I don't know I don't make the rules (how about you find out and explain in a gracious way, just a suggestion....)... My friend joked to me and said sounds dodgy to me, perhaps it is a swingers club! Now I know Miami likes to act posh/different/exclusive, BUT, But, But..Once home I reviewed this establishment.... what's the deal? I STILL don't know. Here is their spec on their website "A private membership club by Major Food Group designed for individuals who appreciate the highest caliber of dining and service, with a collection of amenities unlike anywhere else in Miami." and "ZZ's Club is a restaurant and private membership club from Major Food Group located in the heart of the Miami Design District. With interiors designed by the renowned Ken Fulk and hospitality tailored to each of our Members, the property should feel like a second home. The first floor houses a traditional sushi omakase counter presided over by acclaimed chef Yasu Tanaka, as well as a modern Japanese restaurant offering a range of à la carte servings. On the second floor, the collection of amenities includes a cigar terrace, backgammon balcony, and an intimate bar and lounge. This endeavor is the sister restaurant of ZZ's Clam Bar, the jewel-box destination for seafood and cocktails in New York City's Greenwich Village, just down the block from the original location of Carbone."
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service and front desk hostess is quite rude.
Not worth the hype and super VIP exclusive membership nonsense. So many other better sushi restaurants in Miami.
Be the first to ReplyLet's start with the hype factor.
...super exclusive "VIP" members only nonsense....ok fine got past that & got a resi. We dined in the main dining room where the full menu was offered, not the sushi counter. I must say I was disappointed. $1,400 for a party of 4 & nothing we had was wow factor. I must conclude that this place is all hype. The only reason I gave 2 stars & not 1 is because our waitress really was a rockstar & superior to any other servers we've ever had.

One of the best sushi experiences I've ever had! This will be short because I all I can say is that it was a wonderful experience all around and there was nothing negative about it! This place is top notch. I think this is the best service experience I've ever had. I believe our server's name was Tyler and he was magnificent. The food was DELICIOUS, but special mentions to the uni toast and lobster dumplings. I cannot wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyI dined at the omakase counter with a friend when ZZ's had
I dined at the omakase counter with a friend when ZZ's had a last minute opening. I am a huge fan of omakase and go to all the well known spots regularly. So to finally get to try ZZ's was super exciting! Overall, the experience was delicious. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars is because for the price, I was expecting a little bit more. Not as in more food, but as in a little more creativity with the dishes or some special variety with the fish presented. You go to most places and get the usual tuna, salmon, hamachi, scallops, sea bream, kinmedai, uni, etc. So for a bill that was $800 for two people, I kind of was expecting some fish that I don't normally have at other omakase experiences. So that was disappointing. However ... the dishes we had were very good. The fish is as fresh as it gets. The chef uses caviar sparingly and it was delicious. Some truffle combinations as well were nice. The first dish with salmon and caviar was super simple but SO amazing. And my second favorite dish was the tuna and uni that is featured in the photo I uploaded. I wish they also offered a small tasting of the wagyu sando that they are known for. Or give the option to order it or add it on. Had I known it wasn't part of the menu, I would have definitely gone out of my way to order it. Anyway, it was a nice experience. And if you're looking for a classy, exclusive ambiance to celebrate something special, definitely try this omakase once.
Be the first to ReplyHighlights:* Chef's counter Omakase $250++ per person
Highlights:* Chef's counter Omakase $250++ per person presided by Michelin Starred Sushi Chefs* A high end see and be seen venue* A private membership club upstairs and for the main dining room however the Omakase counter is open to non-membersThe trio behind Michelin starred Carbone New York (and now Miami), and ZZ Clam Bar New York, also the smallest Michelin Starred (10 seat) restaurant, bring you ZZ's Sushi. Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone and Rick Torrisi feel that Miami will become a world class dining destination and have targeted the high end diner. You could easily spend $1,000 for a couple (or a lot more) with some wine, upgrades, tax and tip but if you got the bucks you'll be dining on some excellent food in beautiful surroundings, custom marble sushi counter, vintage clamshell dining chairs, antiques, brass lights, artistic touches and surrounded by Miami's elite. The Omakase is prepared by Chef's Masa Ito and Kevin Kim formerly of Sushi Zo, a Michelin starred restaurant in Manhattan. Chef Masa Ito was very generous with the Osetra Caviar, Wagyu and high quality seafood from Hokkaido and around the world. The highlight was actually not on the Omakase but you must order the Wagyu Sando as an extra. That is a sandwich featuring crispy Wagyu filet with a truffle emulsion served on Japanese milk bread, and you will never forget it. There is a two page wine list featuring about 24 Champagnes and bubbles, starting at $110 for Recaredo Cava Gran Reserva and going up to $2,400 for a Magnum of Dom Ruinart. Champagne is a perfect accompaniment for Sushi and a bottle of small Grower Dhont can be had for $150, also found as the house wine of Per Se and French Laundry. If bubbles are not your thing bottles of Sake start at $175 for Taiheikai Tokubetsu Junmai and go up to $550 for Tatsuriki Gold Junmai Daiginjo. You can find 23 white Burgundies, some Gruners, Riesling, Riojas, Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays to round out the whites. Red Burgundies start at $120 for Beaujolais and rise to $2,450 for DRC Corton . The least expensive Bordeaux is $275 for the second wine of Rauzan Segla and top out at $5,995 for Lafite 2000. There are plenty of California Cabs starting at $170 and up to $2,695 for a magnum of Bond Quella 2015. Corkage is $85 per with some limits. So if you've read this far you get the idea that this is not a place for those on a budget but a luxury experience to compete with the growing roster of notable Japanese venues in South Florida, Nobu, Naoe, Hiden, Nossa, Uchi, Osaka, and the less expensive but reliable Makoto, Zuma, Etaru, Ke-Uh, Kuro, and more. As with the migration of people from New York and other places becoming Floridians increases the top restauranteurs are following and the competition is heating up. We all benefit.

This review is for the sushi bar where they serve omakase, and you can add items from the a la carte menu. The sushi bar sits ~10 people in what feels like an intimate dining room, and there's also restaurant seating in the courtyard and a speakeasy-type lounge upstairs. Omakase is $250 and they have seatings at 7 and 9pm. ZZ's is your opportunity to get Michelin-level sushi in Miami, as the chefs hail from Sushi Zo in LA/NYC. The omakase started off incredibly strong with 3 appetizer courses: oyster topped w/ caviar, bluefin tuna, and scallop topped w/ uni and caviar. The miso soup had good chunks of crab in it. We were then taken on a journey through several pieces of nigiri that opened my eyes to how important temperature was to the harmony of the sushi, they were so perfectly done. The nigiri included seared A5 Miyazaki wagyu of course, and other decadent bites included Hokkaido uni over ikura and a toro & caviar hand roll. To top it all off, dessert was a deliciously tart key lime pie bar.Service was excellent, from the hostess walking us in to the waiters being ready to wipe our plates clean between sushi courses. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and I loved the playlist. ZZ's did an amazing job of setting a high bar and creating an intimate dining experience that will have people coming back again and again.
