Aloha Aina BBQ Paia Reviews from The Last Year
This food truck is a gem you can find on the road to Hana.
My favorite is the chili and rice with a side of their wasabi potato salad. I've tried the burgers and pork plates too; absolutely amazing food, staff is always friendly. You can eat in the back in a covered area if you choose. Highly recommend!
Dankness.
Straight Dankness. The kaluha pork was truly something else in the best way possible. Very unique flavors at work here. Brisket and huli huli was very good as well

By far, The Best BBQ in the Islands!! The last time I had Brisket this good was many, many, many years ago in Santa Monica at a place called STERNS BBQ, when I was a child. So ONO. If you like BBQ, you must taste this food!
We literally drove right past this food truck.
But we were hungry, happened to see their sign, so promptly found a place to turn around to come back for some good Hawaiian BBQ... I'd say this place is decent. Hailing from the BBQ capital of the world (MEMPHIS- ya betta ask somebody), we expected more Hawaiian flavors and less traditional BBQ. But it was still pretty good. Definitely worth turning around for if you also pass them by...

hands-down: Best BBQ on Maui the meats are tops and the chef's sauces are epic. NEVER tired of this place

We went here for a late lunch around 2p and they were all sold out of hamburgers. I went with the two meat plate and got a special of the day-ginger teriyaki chicken and huli huli chicken. For sides you get a piece of corn bread and choice of fern salad or slaw. The teriyaki chicken was amazing. If they have this on the menu I highly recommend it. The glaze is caramelized on the chicken pieces (bone in) and is super flavorful and juicy. It was my favorite out of the meat choices. I'm not a huge fan of white meat and the huli Huli chicken was big pieces of breast meat. The spices didn't really penetrate through the meat although it was very juicy and tender. The corn bread was very fluffy and tasty. The fern salad was interesting. I was hoping to see the heads of the ferns but I got stalk pieces that were like crunchy asparagus. The salad also had tomato and cucumber in a fresh vinaigrette. Overall a really solid lunch place. I recommend going early so they have your choices available.

Ok y'all this place is no joke! You will not regret the drive up here for food, but on a sunny day, this place is heaven, well even if it rained LOL id still come here. I ordered the mix plate lunch of huli huli chicken and pork belly with the fern shoot or ho'io salad or warabi, to which there many names of this ono food. The meat of the chicken and pork belly was so tender and soft it melted in my mouth, it was a perfect pairing with rice and the ho'io salad. I demolished this plate lunch within 10-15 min, cause girl I was hungers! LOL, after doing a hike. Def a place to go and try local BBQ!
So glad we happened to stop here.
The bbq was phenomenal. I think the brisket was our favorite, but the chicken and pulled pork were also delicious. Definitely want to eat here again!

My sister and I came here for lunch today and we got the 2 choice bbq. The kiawe pork belly and ribs were delicious! However, the pohole salad that I ordered was not great. It leaked out of the plate that it was in and it was way too salty/saucy. As a kanaka ʻōiwi from Maui, I expected the pohole salad to have little dressing so that I could actually taste the fern instead of the sauce. Also, the pohole salad didn't last long...as it ended up being mushy once I got home. The chicken also had a little pink, so had to avoid that piece. Otherwise next time I'll have to try something else.
Came to Maui for the first time.
Total bucket list. Was here with the hunky hubster for an international corporate meeting. We had one free day and rented a car and drove to Paia, Twin Falls (because the road to Hana was washed out due to a huge storm) and stopped at this amazing random place on the side of the road. It seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere. Little sis we know, we were about to have a spiritual experience!!! The owners/ proprietors were amazing. Down to earth and offered great suggestions. I was on a mission for some loco moco and it was BY FAR the best meal I had had all week! The 2 meat combo was fantastic, the lemonade was amazing... BUT... the Loco Moco!! Ill be dreaming about it for years to come!! Yummy sticky rice soaks in the juices from the brisket and perfectly Cooked over medium eggs and the most savory gravy!! Not too heavy. Just absolutely amazingly satisfying and crave worthy!! If you are on your way to or from the road to Hana this is a MUST STOP SPOT!!
