Bai Tong Thai Restaurant - Redmond Bellevue Reviews from The Last Year
Been wanting to try this Thai Restaurant for a while now
Been wanting to try this Thai Restaurant for a while now after hearing so many things about it and finally decided to. Went at around 7:30 during the week and it was decently busy but we were seated immediately. The place was pretty large and kind of loud, definitely more of a casual spot. They tended to us and took our order immediately, after ordering our food was out in less then 10 minutes! They were super efficient and for the food it was honestly just okay. This place is pretty famous in Seattle, and I think it's because the vibe of the location on Capital Hill is just much more fun. But for this and making it just a casual restaurant it was honestly just okay. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there was nothing wrong with the food, and the service was exceptional. The prices were also decently steep, but I think it makes sense for the quality of food we received. Overall it was okay, but when given the chance to go here I'd definitely recommend trying the Seattle location.
Food: 6/10 Americanized Thai food.
Dishes tend to be too sweet for my taste Pad see ew: not good, noodles are not caramelized properly. Too sweet Crispy garlic chicken: dry chicken, too sweet Mango sticky rice: pretty good but too sweet (I'd ask for sauce on the side) Fish cake: not good Spare ribs: surprisingly good, tender meat but not spectacular Chili fried rice with chicken: good, but too sweet I personally wouldn't go back again
Came on a Fri noon.
Seated quickly. Took some time to get our dishes. Crispy chicken is a big one. Pa nang Curry is quite small which is ordered from the lunch special menu. Last noodle dish is a big one. Nice service. A bit loud though. Plenty parking. Costco sells their gift card at 20% discoumt, so definitely a good deal to dine here. 3 dishes are way enough for two people. Our bill is 57.4 before tax
Not sure why I haven't reviewed this restaurants before.
Every location is worth the visit. Great atmosphere, professional friendly staff, and amazing food. Have never had a meal were I didn't internally or vocally moan. Competitive prices. My favorite when it comes to Thai food.
Love the food and ambience here .
. Ended up having their drunken noodles and it's awesome. Please plan to get the bai tong gift cards from Costco.. it was selling at a discount which makes this place much more affordable
We ordered take out - delivered.
To say that my order was uninspiring is an understatement. We actually won't eat it - it was a gloppy flavorless mess. I don't think I have ever had worse Thai food. Yikes.
Giving them 5 stars because they have these wonderful kid
Giving them 5 stars because they have these wonderful kid menus in kid plates! loved it
Went here for dinner on a Sunday and this restaurant
Went here for dinner on a Sunday and this restaurant exceeded my initial expectations. We were seated swiftly and the food came out 5 mins after we placed our orders. Waters were refilled throughout the night which is a plus. The papaya salad was very fragrant and flavorful. We got 3 spicy and it was indeed spicy. Kana moo krob was delicious. Pork was fried well, but it was a bit more on the sweeter side than I'd like. Pad kee mao was more protein and vegetables than noodles which was surprising, but still pretty flavorful. It had a more traditional American dine vibes. It could be a bit noisy during dinner hours, and slightly more expensive than comparable restaurants, but not many negatives. Overall, great place to unwind with friends, exceeded expectations, and good place for eats.
Bai Tong in Redmond offers delicious vegetarian options.
The Veggie Fresh Rolls are light and crisp, while the Red Curry is perfectly balanced in flavor. Don't miss the refreshing Mango Tea and comforting Tom Kha soup.
Green bean tofu stir fry
We visited this restaurant for a quick lunch at the suggestion of a couple of people local, with the admonition to try the tofy green bean dish. Wow, quite amazing flavors. Pronounced oyster sauce flavor with some sweetness. Nicely crisped tofu. Al dente green beans. Quick service. Nice upscale Asian environment.
Unhappy with the $15 charge "cake policy".
Place was lit a little too dark. Server was very good.
Not a good Bai Tong comparing to others in the same restaurant chain
This is my second time went to Bai Tong in Redmond. Last time the food weren't very impressive but want to give it a try again. I tried my favorite Thai soup Tom Yum this time, I was disappointed. There were small amount of red hot sauce which wasn't even stir into the soup and the flavor was not right. I will go to Bai Tong in Issaquah and Tukwila but not in Redmond.
I have to admit, I haven't been here for a long time
I have to admit, I haven't been here for a long time however I am thoroughly disappointed with the food here. I ordered Pad Tai chicken and Pad See Yew with chicken and the flavor has decreased significantly (very blah). I would have expected more from this place as I loved their pad thai. I hope this was just a bad batch. I will try again and edit this post, if necessary.
Their customer service is horrible.
It seems we, 7 of us, are a bother for them. The place on Thursday night was not busy and we had a reservation. The table we had was in the dead corner and tables were put together in an L shape so it was not possible to converse. Hence, we asked to be moved to another table. Now 4-to 5 servers got together and said we were "wasting their time" like we were a bother for them. We couldn't believe our ears what they were saying. It doesn't matter how good the food is if customer service is so bad. We asked for the manager and all of them said there was no manager then. I've been here before when it was very busy and the servers were friendly, but tonight they were very rude. I've never experienced anything like it at any restaurant, and we had to walk away. It was very disappointing!!!
Worst service.
Went with family, host was not even in interested in entertaining us. Asked us to sit next to bar area with minors within the party. Decided to leave. Won't go back ever.
I love love love coming to Bai Tong it's comfort food at
I love love love coming to Bai Tong it's comfort food at its best, everything I order here I adore! Crab fried rice 10/10 I always threaten the kids that if they finish this I will eat them instead, they still do lol I really should just order another to take home and enjoy the next day Panang Curry 10/10 yummmm I really don't know what else to say it's just so freakin' yummy Pad Thai 9/10 kids love this! So we always order it I do lean to noodles that are less sweet more savory but this is what a pad Thai is so if you are lover of pad Thai you'll love this Other things I've tried Khao Soi 10/10 this is my go too noodle here I just love love love this Cashew chicken 9/10 Pad Prik Khing 9/10 Crispy Garlic Chicken 10/10 Service once you sit down is quick and are always sweet and patient with us. It's is a little of a wait on weekends but nothing too bad and the interior is nice (nothing too fancy), plenty of tables and turnover is fairly quick.
Something changed at this restaurant.
Their foods were not great as before. I've been eating here for several years and always orders the same items. But the foods tasted off today.... Service was also slow and most employees seemed new. Overall, it was a disappointing. And will not return for a while.
I have been here before years ago and I remember liking it.
But our food this time was not good. It was about a 20 min wait on Tuesday night. We were seated and it took about 10 min. For someone to come with water and they offered to get our appetizer order. The appetizers came out quickly but no one took our order until we were done with those. The chicken satay was not great. The chicken flavor and peanut sauce were off. The crab Rangoon was okay but a little too fried. The Thai salad was big for even a small. The tofu soup was good. The chicken panting was good and the friend rice also. The pad Thai was gross! All three of us tried it and did not care for it. We didn't even eat it. The food was just okay and the service was slow. The food did come out quickly. I would not go back again any time soon.
I love their food.
So many tasty dishes and authentic flavors. They have an interesting bar selection as well. Great food
Seems like this place has existed for quite a long time in
Seems like this place has existed for quite a long time in the neighborhood & it makes sense why! We came here for lunch during the week; a little before noon & the place was quite full during the lunch hour. The service was wonderful & also prompt. We all found our entrees to be delicious. If you are into spicy food, go up a little in the rating from 1-5 or ask for the spice tray to be brought out . I had the vegetarian pad-sei-lew & found it to be exactly what I was hoping for!
Service is super fantastic Really beautiful place Food was
Service is super fantastic Really beautiful place Food was a bit too salty, sweet, sour for my taste. We ordered pad kits mao(too salty), glass noodle pad thai (to sour), garlic chicken (too too sweet), fried tofu, Thai tea
We came to Bai Tong on Friday at 7:30 as a party of 4.
It took us a half hour to get seats, but their flavors are worth the wait. We scanned the QR code provided at the table for the menus as well as having 2 physical copies provided for us. I enjoyed their tamarind margarita and a tamarind sour to start. This was a refreshing way to start all of our wonderful food. Their cocktails are very flavorful and not too strong. We ordered a lot of food and shared amongst ourselves. We got their appetizer platter, fresh spring rolls, crispy garlic chicken, pad sei-lew, Khao Soi with chicken, Pad Kea Prau with pork. We got a spice level of 3 stars across all of the foods we ordered. All of these options are my favorites and first picks. I love that their dishes are strong both together and individually. This combination of dishes rocked. They have so many options and it was easy to tailor our food to our specific likes. The quality of their food is outstanding. I think there is something here for everyone to enjoy. The only thing I wish they would have done is serve the appetizers before the entrees and not at the same time-we needed the table space Not only were the flavors wonderful, but the decor was lovely. This was such a nice indulgence. I can't wait to return!
Best Thai in the area. Easy to find and lots of parking. Its popular and can get busy you may ant to make a reservation
Great Thai food and upscale atmosphere. Service is helpful and quick. There is bar service and many well explained items on the menu.
Delicious Thai Food in Redmond.
I was treated to dinner at Bai Ting Thai in Redmond by a dear friend, (thanks Tim), when I was visiting Seattle from the UK, and it was a very nice Thai meal indeed. I LOVE THAI food and the quality and authenticity of the dishes I/we had at Bai Tong Thai were very very good. The Chicken Satay to start was superb, and the Spring Rolls were good too. The Pork Pad See Ew, (wide rice noodles), that I had were also very tasty. I like spicy and so opted for the top 'heat' offered, number 5, and the food was hot but still not what I would call super spicy... I can handle way hotter. It was delicious though. Prices were reasonable and service was fast and efficient. Nice ambience too. I would certainly dine here again if in town.
Service Way Too Rushed
My spouse and I went to the Bai Tong in Redmond on a Saturday evening for a birthday dinner. We thought we would have a leisurely dinner. Because we were a party of two they seated us at a small table. This was OK with us because we thought we would have attentive service that would bring us our food in sequence as we finished our appetizers and soup, then bring the main courses we ordered. They didn't and our meal was anything but leisurely. Dishes were brought to us essentially all at once without any consideration to let us finish our starting courses. And we were definitely rushed; on the low side of diner quality service (IE: get them in, get them fed, get them out). Since the table we were placed at was way to small to hold all the dishes we ordered, unfinished appetizers had to be removed to make room for the main dishes on the very small table we were seated at. The food was delicious, although it had chicken and pork that was slightly overcooked and a little dry. The soup I had. Tom Kah was way too hot both in temperature and spicyness. I ordered medium hot "3" but that was too hot for my taste. It is the sauces that make this restaurant worth dining at but we will go during the week when they are less busy. Perhaps the food will be better and they will be more considerate about the service they provide. The atmosphere is good and the seating is very well planned to give a feeling of intimacy no matter where you sit.
