Bearfoot Bistro Whistler Reviews from The Last Year
Choose the $45 Spring Dinner!
This spring they have the 3-course $45 meal which is a great value! I had the fois gras, and found it a bit too sweet since I like it more savory. But the Cornish hen and the salmon were amazing! The staff was awesome and the service was great! I’d recommend!
Unnecessarily disappointing.
Manipulated into the specials menu and over-saturated. Could have been a lovely evening as we’ve had there before but far too much of a good thing left us feeling nauseous as we left with dessert in a doggie bag. Not the way it should be!
The place has nice ambiance but it's overpriced I didn't
The place has nice ambiance but it's overpriced I didn't like the texture of the duck confit or the taste, but the sauce was good. The oysters were also good.
Fabulous restaurant
Great food. Great service. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The tasting menu was sensational and bigger portions than in the UK.
The service is great and this is the best restaurant we
The service is great and this is the best restaurant we found in the village... The lighting and decor of this restaurant make us feel comfortable and relax. The food is delicious....Next time when we stop by, we will definitely come back again. The Grey Goose ice room is also inside at the Bearfood Bistro. The staff told us this ice room is maintained at an icy -32°C (-25°F), features walls, bars, and shelves all crafted from crystal-clear ice, with vodka bottles nestled in their nooks. It was a great experience to us.
A wonderful wine reading that made my wine heart beat faster
The seafood platter was great, it was impossible for me to finish this large seafood platter, the wine in the glass was also of very good quality. And a very warm and friendly welcome. I have been here twice before for après ski to enjoy delicious oysters and excellent wines. The wine list is excellently stocked, at a hefty price for Europeans, but a wonderful read for wine lovers.
If you are looking for fine dining this is it at its best
Great food, great staff. Mushroom soup incredible. Can’t go wrong. It Araxi and wild blue, followed by Quatro are best restaurants in Whistler
Was really excited to eat here after reading reviews and
Was really excited to eat here after reading reviews and hearing experiences of friends who had been. The entire meal, unfortunately, was a miss. To be honest, we skipped on the kitsch adventures in the vodka room, sabering a champagne bottle, and spending 30 plus for a serving of nitrogen infused ice cream - and just decided we'd eat a fabulous anniversary meal. From the reviews it seems the experiences above are maybe what makes the restaurant, rather than the quality of the food. The lamb was good, the gnocchi was overcooked and mushy. The Gruyère potatoes were both unexpected grits like texture, but also surprisingly bland, as I normally love Gruyère in everything. The cheese plate was OK, but with very small pieces of cheese and limited food for the 30 plus price tag, even by Canadian standards this course was highway robbery. My cocktail, the Hot Tub Time Machine, was good, and the poppy seed bread is divine. The server was also kind and knowledgeable. All in all, for the price and expectations, I left very disappointed. Skipped dessert altogether for fear of being more disappointed, and dessert is something I never skip. It was a memorable anniversary dinner, albeit not a good memory.
We went for apres ski with a group of six.
The menu has a good variety. I have the beet salad and burger which were both really good. My husband had the French onion soup and Brussels sprouts. Our waiter was superb and so was the service. We were all served at the same time with four servers and cleared the same. It's very professional!
Pricy but good for a special occasion! We visited Bearfoot
Pricy but good for a special occasion! We visited Bearfoot Bistro on a Saturday night, with a reservation made well in advance for our large party. The vibe was classy, with elegant but subtle decor. We were seated next to the kitchen, so it was really cool to watch the food be prepared. They had an entire section of mocktails on the drink menu, and I chose one with apple/pear, that I can't find the name of now. I absolutely loved it though! It was surprisingly thick in consistency, and the flavors were so well balanced. My boyfriend also loved the Papa Berry, which was more simple and refreshing. For food, my boyfriend and I decided to share a bunch of appetizers instead of getting an entree. This worked out alright, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're hungry, because portion sizes were very small. The East & West Coast Oysters were very good, and came with a great mignonette. Our first appetizer was the Ahi & Albacore Tuna Crudo, which was fresh but not very substantial. I loved the fish, but the white styrofoam-looking crackers were flavorless. Next, we tried the Québec Foie Gras Duo. The presentation of the Marcona almond praline "magnum" was really creative, but we both liked the other Foie Gras more. Finally, we got the Braised Oxtail Tortellini, which was easily the best part of the meal. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavor combination was incredible. My friends loved their entrees, including the Lumina Lamb Rack "Navarin" and PEI Beef Ribeye. Service was helpful and professional, but this was far from a quick meal. Overall, a tasty dinner, but not the most value for the price tag!
Poor service from our waiter. Nice atmosphere
Our waiter was very rushed pushing the specials on the menu. She didn’t gave me a chance to taste the wine. Brussels sprouts salty .
Yelp got this one right but we didn't check the rating.
The menu has some really nice items however both the salmon and the tuna crudo were quite mild and unremarkable. The oxtail tortellini was absolutely exceptional. However when you're going to charge 30-50 per appetizer and 50-80 per Entree do you really need to charge 4 per person for tap water and then 4 per bread? Also they were out of their one key steak (80, others are 100-120) and mixed up our appetizers with no frills. Additionally a very 80s and bland decor. Wasn't close to worth the price.
Vodka experience
Henry in the Vodka Room was 1,000/10!! Such an awesome host! My girlfriend and I are blown away. Totally recommend. Very knowledgeable about Vodka's
Amazing! Every year we enjoy our trip to Bearfoot Bistro.
I love it so much and look forward to it so much that I forget to share pictures. The food is something I think about long after my trip has ended. As of this writing, I'm thinking about those truffle bites, oysters, and scallops. They have impeccable service staff that are knowledgeable and kind. The ambiance is fresh, clean, and romantic. If you're looking for an upscale couples dinner, Bearfoot Bistro has my recommendation.
Outstanding Dishes | Outstanding Staff
Just outstanding! Staff is exceptional, food delicious. Arctic char was some of the best I have had. The beef tartar starter was very well done, and the dessert cheese plate was beautiful. A must stop if you visit Whistler.
Just stumbled one this awesome establishment for a drink
Just stumbled one this awesome establishment for a drink and the ice room experience. Brandon and TJ were amazing. As was our ice room hostess! We had the why the fig not and the 47 Pisco. Both were amazing! As was the short rib poutine. Thank you for an amazing evening!
We had the experience last night.
Started with opening champagne with a saber. Then wine tasting. Did the vodka room. The food was excellent. Over all an experience. Great service as well.
Yummy! This was my favorite meal in the village.
The ambiance in this space is incredible. It was a little challenging to find the restaurant in the Listel Hotel, mid village. Once there, however, they sat us at a beautiful table and we started out with the charity basket of bread, made in house. We loved the bread and had to hold back to save room for the main course. The spot prawn and scallop salad was as tasty as it was beautiful. The lobster was also uniquely presented and amazing. Both the strawberry shortcake and the chocolate raspberry dessert were incredible. We had no leftovers after this meal and all agreed it was our favorite new spot.
What an experience!
What a awesome experience. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food was to do for and selection of drinks is extensive, especially if you are a wine junkie. Had my first try of A5 Wagyu, and all I can say is it's a experience. Something akin to having your steak filled with butter and tastes amazing. Dessert was also fantastic.
