My first one star review! Be ware if extra hidden charges!
I went with a group of work colleagues. I travel as a consultant and I was embarrassed by hidden fees that were added on to the bill above the menu prices! The service was very poor combined with a rude attitude! I travel around the country and the p

My friend treated me to a birthday lunch at the Capital Hotel Bar and Grill. We were seated by the window with views of the trolleys rolling by and people on the street. We indulged in the daily Blue Plate Special and on Tuesdays, itโs Chicken Frie

Delicious food and incredible cocktails
I was craving shrimp and grits, and TripAdvisor reviews lead us here. This restaurant/bar is located on the first floor of an older classy hotel. We were seated right away and the staff was really nice and accommodating. The cocktails were delicious.
Disappointed Motherโs Day Brunch โ Not Worth the Price
I was truly disappointed with the Motherโs Day brunch at this restaurant. For an event that should feel special and well thought-out, the experience fell short on nearly every front. To begin with, the selection was shockingly limited. Standard br
Not actually service animal friendly.
I made a reservation asking for the best available table. We were dining with a college friend of my partner whom I was meeting for the first time. They had not seen each other in years. We were only driving through town. I couldn't remember whe

Rarely have I had a perfect meal, but such was the case here. Started with a well-mixed cocktail, followed by delicious cream of asparagus soup. Main dish of Shrimp and Grits. Shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the dish had a nice balance

Terrible service, food was cold and nothing good to say, except the tree is always pretty. I wish a new management company would take over.
Overpriced and underwhelming
Best thing was the dirty martini. Otherwise I canโt recommend any food. They donโt brew their own tea. Red flag #1. It was some sort of instant something that didnโt even look right nor taste like tea. Soup and salad was forgotten. Food was
Capital Grill is always a good choice.
I enjoyed a great steak and attentive service. The restaurant had sports on the TV and I was able to get work done while enjoying a good dinner.

This is an absolutely wonderful place! The ambiance, food and service are impeccable. The daily lunch selection of specials has great choices and I will absolutely be back. Try their fried Black eyed peas appetizer. They are pop in your mouth fan
Pretentious.
Oblivious. Overpriced. Stopped for lunch while in town for business. The lobster bisque was lukewarm and sour. The brisket sandwich was chewey and seemed old. Both texture and visual were very gross. Could not finish. Service was acceptable and ambi
Completely underwhelming
Havenโt been here in a few years. Looks the same visually speaking. Menu sounded good but the flavors fell flat. Short rib lasagna was incredibly bland and lacking any flavor. It was so promising on the menu, I cannot recommend it and that was th
This place lives up to itโs good reputation!
Great martinis served in the Bar! It enticed me to look at the dinner menu! I had the Ribeye steak with a side of whipped potatoes. I end this dining experience with their signature brownie! Service was first rate!
Declined from glory days.
My how the mighty have fallen. The management firm now operating the Bar and Grill falls short of previous excellence. Servers slow w water then drinks. 4 shrimp on the po-boy, FROZEN onion rings. Manager did step in to help serve mains. It was okay,

Ambience is great here, very relaxing. Would highly recommend this as a must go too.

Tasteless , bland, stale chips and genuinely unappealing appetizers and entrees. A Swanson's TV dinner from a microwave would be equivalent ...although service was wonderful, friendly and helpful but did compensate for restaurant lack of cleanliness

Chicken and Dressing - chicken was cold, dressing was mushy and flavorless. - Green Beans- ok. Roll - good, mashed potatoes & gravy good.
Whoa! Capital Bar has really gone downhill.
Used to be my daughter's favorite restaurant. We ordered takeout, and they gave me a hard time about wanting pimento cheese on the cheeseburger. What? In the end, it didn't matter, the burgers were inedible. Seriously, we fed them to the dog. So
I went here on New Year's eve with my mom.
Everything was excellent. Our server was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. We got a bottle of champagne which was good and presented/served well. My mom got a mule which she said wasn't very flavorful and a mart
So, made a reservation for lunch mid week.
Got to the front and had to talk over the guy at the host station to let him know we had a reservation as he was trying to tell me that they didn't have any tables open. Not necessarily rude, but certainly wasn't listening to me. Got a table, nice at
We stayed at the capital hotel so decided to dine in here.
My mom had been here before and loved it. We were very disappointed with this last visit. My tab was $70 for a chicken Caesar salad, a house gin and tonic and a chocolate martini. I wouldn't have gone here to begin with because look at their menu --

Well considering it was only offering a light bite menu, i still enjoyed my espresso martini here. The bar tender was extremely nice. And the restaurant was very clean and had cool Looking decor. I'll come back and try their dinner soon.

Enjoy the Capital Bar & Grill
The volume was low enough to hear each other talking but background music was very pleasing. We had shrimp & grits and a Cobb salad w/ duck gumbo. Both were prepared well. The cocktail was refreshing. It was our waiters first night and he did
Good Experience
Great location and a menu with reasonable variety. Recommend the short ribs and wedge salad. The special was beef stroganoff and was fantastic!
Relaxed Dinner
In town for work and stayed across the street at another hotel, but decided to try out the Capital. The Shrimp and Grits cannot be beat! Our waiter recommended and shared that they were the best item on the menu... he was not wrong! Wait staff wer
Lovely and Lively
We went for drinks and ended up eating at the bar because we loved the lively atmosphere and the bartenders were fun. We had the potato soup and pasta dish. Itโs a pretty restaurant in the Capital Hotel which is also lovely. Really enjoyed it. So m
Plusses and Minuses
Was an evening of plusses and minuses. The plusses were the exuberant service, the incredible pimiento cheese and homemade crackers, and the fried okra. The minuses were the terribly overcooked snapper that was tough and had too much Tony Chacher
