Dynasty Seafood Restaurant Vancouver Reviews from The Last Year
We're from San Francisco Bay Area and really enjoy dim sum.
We were excited to visit Vancouver and experience great dim sum. The food was good but not great, and certainly not better than our favorite places in San Francisco. Location was easy ride from downtown Vancouver. The actual restaurant had nice appeal aesthetically, but service was pretty bad. While not busy server was always in a hurry to walk away even while I was requesting items like water and soy sauce. I realize that's typical of good Chinese restaurants so no great surprise there. Had the food been spectacular I'd return and put up with bad service, but it was just okay. So, I'm looking forward to trying other places.

It would have been nice if they told us that parking was free. The part of the parking lot we were at said pay, so we downloaded the app and paid $12.10 for 2 hours. When we got to the restaurant, we were told that signs were posted all over that if you were going to the restaurant, then parking was free. There was no sign where we were parked. The food was good and our waiter was great.
Nice meal
Back again for another group dinner with six people. The food here is really good and our table enjoyed many dishes. The service is excellent. The only thing about this restaurant is that is is noisy with all the conversations around you so it can be difficult to her your own talking.

Having been born and raised in Hong Kong, this has been the most authentically tasting dimsum I've had on the west coast of North America thus far! Chiu chow fried rice was SO good, they put taro bits in it which I was not expecting but glad to have. Cha siu bao 10/10. Eggplant with fish cake 10/10. Pea shoots were fine, a bit oily. Would've liked more garlic. Bean curd with shrimp and chicken was pretty good 8/10 and chicken feet were overcooked imo but great flavour 7/10! Service was fast, friendly for an authentic Chinese place (especially compared to HK haha) and they took last min reservation. Very clean place!
Bad place
Not at all up to the reviews we had resd, in particular in Michelin guide :no dim sum no fresh fish, only frozen deep fried fish with no taste. Only one choice of vegetable and not a good one. Extremely noisy. Real disappointment.
Bad customer service
We went to this restaurant at 10:30 am, March 2nd. 2024 (not busy time, there is nobody was waiting outside). At the front door/reception desk, we asked the receptionist a table for two. The gentleman said: "one hour, is that OK"? Both of us, (who live in North America for more than 30 years), understand he means we have to wait for one hour. We asked him, do we have to wait for that long? He repeated again, impatiently. Don't believing him, we asked him in Chinese again: Do we really need to wait for that long? He then explained impatiently again, that we have to finish eat in one hour. First of all, his English is so poor, make us confused; secondly, his bad attitude was very annoying. While we were sitting at the table, the waiters are not friendly either. We had a very bad experience in this restaurant! Even thought their food is not bad....but, that doesn't means they should be so snobbish!
Very high price but poor service restaurant.
We went there at 10:30 am, not busy time, there is nobody waiting outside. The reception at the front door speak poor English that confused us. We asked a table for two. He reply: one hour, is that OK? We think that's impossible! Because it's not busy in side. So we asked him again: do we have to wait for that long? He repeated impatiently again, one hour. We then asked in Chinese to clarify, and finally we understand what he mean was we have to finish eating within one hour... What annoying us was his attitude. While in the restaurant, the waiters are not friendly either! Even their food is not bad, but they should not be so snobbish to the customer...
Good quality and tasty dimsum.
We had to wait a bit to get in even when we came close to closing around 2pm. Once we got in they took our order and food started coming out immediately after. Some interesting things: they don't have shrimp rice rolls or chrysanthemum tea. I would say it's on the pricer end of dimsum places but we thought everything was flavorful. Service wise, I feel like we had to repeatedly ask for soy sauce, chili oil, white pepper for our soup because they kept forgetting or they just didn't bring it. On another note, their chili oil isn't too spicy or what I'm used to but I really liked the flavor and umami of it. We asked for iced waters all around and they didn't bring them until we finished eating. Oh I did love that they included utensils to use specifically to share food separately from our personal ones.
Fantastic seafood, Chinese buffet and dim sum.
Would recommend anyone in Vancouver to go try this restaurant restaurant excellent service, very professional and delicious.
this place has been around a while.
Ive come here for dim sum before, years ago, and its just ok. They dont have a huge selection though and lack some common items like rice rolls. Food quality was average. Nothing bad, nothing outstanding. I went back recently for dinner on a weekday. Restaurant was about half full. Food was average at best. but VERY overpriced considering what you get. I ordered one of their "signatures" which was a single beef rib with broccoli served with a brown sauce. It was $60 and the beef was still tough, sinew not trimmed away, and meat not cooked long enough. Are you kidding? Not to mention the waiter seemed to have an attitude. There was a guy in a suit who was maybe the manager or boss, he was friendly and nice. The restaurant is clean but its a very dated interior look. The place has not really changed much over the years. This is just an overpriced canto restaurant, that is otherwise solidly average, at best. Don't be fooled, this is not fine dining. If there is one good thing about this place, its the free parking downstairs. Just park, dont pay, and enter your license plate in their kiosk at the front of the restaurant. Theres tons of choice for excellent chinese food in town, there is not much reason to come here.
The taste was decent.
The restaurant feels more upperclass ambiance. However they didn't have a standard beef rice roll, which I was surprised about. It was overpriced for the quality in my opinion
Very pricey dim sum but this is some of the better dim sum
Very pricey dim sum but this is some of the better dim sum than I get at home! It's really at nose to be able to share with a large group as their menu has so many items. We got reservations for Saturday night and had a few dim sum items with noodles and the price came out to $30 a person... again, a little pricey for a light meal but still satisfying! There is parking underground but we opted for street parking. Service was good as they accommodated a last minute reservation time change.
Dynasty was the second restaurant that I tried to get
Dynasty was the second restaurant that I tried to get brunch (takeout). The first one that I went to was not doing takeout. Dimsum was Vancouver priced with the basics costing about $10 CAD. Har gow and siu mai were okay. It came with 4 per order. Everything we ordered was okay. Service was good. The employee out front suggested that I move my car into their garage to avoid getting a parking ticket. I can't complain since they fed me on Christmas day, after the first place I went to rejected me.
One of the best chinese restaurants in Vancouver for dinner.
A lot of chinese restaurants have gone downhill, especially after covid. You would think since there are so many options, providing higher quality with the new pricing would be everyone's goal but it isn't. The ambiance here is very classy and it is always busy with great, friendly staff. My friend always orders the "good stuff" so I don't have to worry, I just come with an empty stomach. I'm a big fan of the tapioca pudding dessert and there's is hand downs, the best. There is street parking and underground parking so there's never an issue finding a spot. If you pay downstairs, just remember to keep your ticket as they will reimburse you. This place has become a staple for us when we want to do group gatherings. Call ahead to book a table and order if you want the special items. I highly recommend coming if you've never been!
We came into Dynasty for a Wednesday morning Dimsum.
The service was great and very accommodating to what we needed when we ordered more food. The food was tasty with a very clean and light taste.
Cannot Recommend
What a crashing disappointment! Dinner here was laughably bad. We needed to hunt down a host to seat us. We tried to order cocktails, ended up with undrinkable highballs- imagine a gin and tonic without a lime wedge (the tonic tasted like lemon lime soda, they didn’t even do that right!). We ordered a 3 course Peking Duck. The skin wrapped in crepes was okay but flavourless, and the next two courses were inedible. Seafood chow mein was a stodgy flavourless mess, and the skimpy seafood on top wasn’t cleaned correctly. Pea tips were overcooked and also devoid of flavour. At over $100 each just for food, we expected more- much more. Michelin has no business putting this restaurant on a recommended list.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
