Hometown Barbecue Miami Reviews from The Last Year
This is my favorite barbecue in Miami.
The meat is amazing and the sauce is solid. Try a few different things and share. Only issue is it isn't cheap and location sucks.

Dry brisket, chicken, ribs and puller pork sándwich Good sides and great sausage tho, maybe a bad day, will definitely try again.
Good BBQ In Blueridge GA
Visited this BBQ last week, and I have to say April, the owner is a sweetheart of a lady. Southern hospitality at its finest. We ordered the ribs, which were fantastic. Please note that the ribs are not slathered in barbecue sauce. All homemade BBQ sauces are offered on the side. I really appreciate BBQ that isn't covered in sauce, kinda lets you know you're getting a quality product not bathed in a sauce. I also appreciate the fact that everything is made fresh in-house every day. I would recommend this establishment if you're in the area.

I am a fan of BBQ food so I have to be critical of any place that claims top of the line BBQ food. I have to say Hometown meets expectations and in some cases exceeds them. Good selection with quality.
I have been a big fan of Hometown Bar-B-Que since it
I have been a big fan of Hometown Bar-B-Que since it opened, but I had not been there in about a year, maybe longer. My recent visit there (in March) was a disaster. It was a Saturday night, and there were three of us (with reservations). The menu had shrunk a bit since my last visit--no more brisket platters or burnt ends (which I recall had already been taken off the menu last time I went). We quickly learned that they were out of the rib tips, and I think out of the broccoli, and several other items (two of the salads as I recall). We ordered cornbread, which was fine (but not anywhere near Blue Collar's or Mignonette's) and the queso mac and cheese, which was really good and in fact, the only standout dish of the evening. One diner ordered the Frito pie, another the pulled pork sandwich. I ordered the brisket sandwich. The diner with the Frito pie got sick in the middle of the play we were seeing later and spent much of the evening in the bathroom. The pulled pork sandwich seemed to have been made of last week's (like more than 7 days before) pork and was clearly inedible. My friend had one bite then asked for my opinion; it had clearly gone bad. The waiter replaced it with a chicken taco that took maybe 20 minutes to arrive. We got dessert (only one on the menu), but it was also a disappointment--basically Jell-O (ish) banana pudding (tasted like instant and not restaurant-worthy) with a couple of vanilla wafers and some store-bought whipped topping. An embarrassment. I wouldn't go back, and I am astounded that it has a Michelin Bib Gourmand. I've eaten in nine of the other Bib Gourmand restaurants in Miami, and they all deserve a nod (some more than others). But Hometown was not only not good the night we went, it was scary-- a limited menu, a dessert that a kindergartener could make (I've made "real" banana pudding from scratch and it involves a lot more than opening a couple of boxes, and worst of all, food that had obviously gone bad.
This place is the best BBQ food I've have ever tasted.
OMG DELICIOUS!!! Please give this place a try. Second time here and it's just an explosion of flavor. The water melon salad was phenomenal. The Mac&cheese is the best I've had. The brisket there is no comparison to what I've had in my life. Do yourself a favor and please try this place out. Service amazing. Ambiance very clean and quiet, I went during the week so not sure it gets on the weekends.
Bland food.
Brisket sandwich had no flavor at all. Large sandwich portion. Meat has no flavor at all. Set in an industrial area. Lots of searing.
The Service was amazing they treated us with such respect
The Service was amazing they treated us with such respect and we felt very welcomed and the place was super clean and kept up. The only reason I do give it a three star is because 1 the parking was super bad and I had to find a parking spot super far away where I wouldn't be scared of getting towed and 2 because the food way to over priced in my opinion. I've gone to Apocalypse Bbq done in Kendall and the food was not only much better tasting but the price was unbeatable. Over all this place could do a bit better when it comes to their prices.
best brisket ever fast and friendly service recommend

Love, love, love Hometown BBQ!!! The most tender and flavorful bbq brisket you could hope to find... casual, fast with good service.
Waiter service was dope.
Ambiance was very Miami wynwood-like hipster vibes. The Food there was 4 of us... Came out to almost $200 and for a BBQ spot it was a little on the pricy side and the portions should be bigger especially for that price to be honest! The 1/2 a chicken was a little on the dry side, i ordered the lemonade drink it was OK nothing to brag about thats fir sure... The food quality over all 1-5 id give it a 3 SORRY but ive had better and the rib order was literally 2 pieces which was kind of dry too... Just being real My YELP family! Like i said if you see the pictures and as you can see for $200 i dont know slightly over priced in my book... Ive had better and cheaper for sure!
This place is great.
I don't know how else to describe it other than great, bountiful, hedonistic, and powerfully barbequean. Almost everything was spectacularly delicious and filled in that craving of needing a platter of meat. Meat things were juicy, a good portion even for four people, and came in a great variety to sample and see the amazing variety of transforming an animal into many delicious edibles. If I had to pick some favorites, it probably to have been the brisket, beans, and cornbread. Don't just stick to those, though, as you have to get a full platter of more variety to get the full experience. In addition to that, you probably also have to get the frozen pina colada they offer at the bar if you're not in the mood for slamming down a beer with it all. If there's one thing I'd change, it'd be to not get the wings--despite the great acclaim by a friend, they were rather dry outside and in and honestly you've gotta have at least have the inside moist and juicy or else it doesn't work. Other than that, eat to your heart's content and don't forget the watermelon salad to cut down all that meat and fat.

This is in an open air warehouse kind of setting, so it gets a little hot and can have flies, but other than that this is the best southern bbq I've had so far in Miami (haven't had drunken pig yet). It's is more like a place you would go to in Texas or a Louisiana. Can't really miss with the pulled pork or brisket. Not the biggest fan of the sides like the Mac and cheese baked beans or sole slaw but the meats are on point. Also the cornbread is amazing.
Dropped by Hometown Barbecue in Allapattah, and while
Dropped by Hometown Barbecue in Allapattah, and while there's no question the food's top-notch, the prices can hit hard. Extra charges for staples like pickles and onions, $14 for six wings, and brisket at $20 for half a pound definitely make you pause. The Chinese char siu baby back ribs and that massive beef rib are delicious but come with a hefty price tag. It's a place for those special occasions, just remember it's gravel outside, so dress accordingly. Great spot, but you've been warned about the prices.
The bar has now been set in the BBQ game here in MIA.
Real deal bbq with a sparkle showcased in the mean streets of Allapattah. Open air dining right smack in the produce market. Enjoyed the smoked wings, sliced smoked turkey, brisket, beef ribs, cole slaw & roasted broccoli, all on point + the cornbread is tight! If you're looking for inexpensive bbq this ain't your jam. Welcome to the 305 Hometown!
Best bbq ever!!
Best bbq food ever!! You like meat, brisket, pull pork, you have to go yo that place. It’s simple but so delightful! We went twice during our stay! Less expensive then most of the restaurants in miami!
The brisket is the star of the show!!!
Wow! This place is amazing. Loved the BBQ and the brisket is hands down the best I've ever had. Wish i lived in Miami so i could eat here all the time. The ribs were ok and the beans a bit spicy and the slaw was ok but the brisket!!!!!!! Heaven.
Greatest BBQ meal I've had - Top notch!
Greatest BBQ of my life! The setting, the staff, the food, everything was amazing. I had the ribs, brisket with a few sides. The cornbread was out of this world. I would love to have this meal again, unfortunately its a 10 hour flight away. Absolutely tasty stuff.
Hometown BBQ - EXCELLENT “Texas-style” BBQ in Miami (Allapattah neighborhood), Florida
Open for approximately 2 years in Allapattah (mostly warehouses) neighborhood if Miami, FL, Hometown Barbecue is Pitmaster Bill Durney’s Miami import from Brooklyn, NY. This is a causal “open warehouse” dinning space: the food counter/open kitchen is on 1 side, and a bar on the other. There’s ample FREE PARKING outside .The food here replicates Austin Texas style BBQ meats (yum!). Your food order is efficiently brought to your table on a metal tray lined with butcher paper (Austin, Texas style). This was our first visit, and we tried: Brisket - DELICIOUS!! Spice-rubbed, black pepper crusted, moist carved brisket - MUST TRY! Pork ribs - Excellent, pepper crusted ribs Beef rib ($54 for 1 rib) - EXCELLENT; a huge rib enough for 4-5 people to sample Turkey - moist, tasty slices Pastrami bacon slice - good All of the meats were black pepper crusted, but not mouth-on-fire - - their table sweet BBQ sauce paired perfectly with the BBQ. We didn’t have the chance to try wings, cornbread, sides etc., during this visit. All-in-all, Miami’s Hometown Barbecue is pretty much THE BEST AUSTIN TEXAS-STYLE BBQ THAT I’VE EVER HAD ALONG THE EAST COAST!!
Love the Brisket!
Craving bbq, my grandchildren and I headed to Hometown BBQ. It isn’t in the best place in town, but it was okay because we got there as it opened. We ordered the brisket, the pork spare ribs, watermelon salad and Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection. The brisket was so tender. My grandchildren loved the ribs. We ate everything. Hector, our server, even gifted us an order of wings. He was great! We finished our leisurely lunch with their banana cream pudding dessert. It was delicious! I will definitely good back and I recommend it.
Don’t judge a book by its cover
My dad really wanted BBQ food. I found this place and it had fabulous reviews so I suggested we try it out. The street it was on and the building itself looked kinda sketchy but we headed inside anyways. There was quite a bit of people there and it looks like you order at the counter but they sat us down and gave us menus. We ordered the watermelon salad which was amazing!!! I’ll have to recreate at home… a chicken taco with a homemade flour tortilla *chefs kiss* , the small Mac n cheese (yummy), my dad ordered the chicken which he liked and my daughter ordered the $54 beef rib (it says you pay for a bone and it’s HUGE). I’m not the biggest meat eater and this was amazing! So tender and juicy. I also got the elotes which wasn’t as good as I usually make it but everything else was divine. Definitely go it was worth every penny!
Miami's Best Restaurants that are most frequently booked by customers of Hometown Barbecue Miami
Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
