good food, excellent service
Awesome good, beyond excellent service. Cassie was fantastic! Best collard greens I've ever had, even when I lived in the south.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing; terrible service
We sat at a high top that was a piece of a cut tree trunk that was hollowed out, so there was this large hole in the center. Weird. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for appetizer and some time later, someone brought us some type of fritters. We told them we had ordered fried green tomatoes. He looked surprised and went back. It took more time to get those. The tomatoes were kind of sour. Eh. Just okay. We waited for our server to come back to take our order. We waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile, she was enjoying her time with two really loud women drinking at the bar. She finally came and took our order and we waited a long time for our food. My husband ordered a sandwich and salad and I ordered a sandwich and fries. After an even a longer wait, the plates finally came, but they served me macaroni and cheese instead of fries. So they had to go get the fries. She told me to keep the Mac n cheese, which was just okay. I'm glad I didn't order it because it tasted like what I make at home. My husband's sandwich had greens on it that looked like lawn clippings. Not kidding. I know it was spring mix, but it was not appetizing. Our server was entirely inattentive and seemed unconcerned with quality of service. The food was not worth the money. We will not go back and I do not recommend this place at all.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly, knowledgeable staff with the most delicious food
After reading numerous reviews we just had to check out this restaurant on our fall girls trip. Libby's did NOT disappoint. Staff was very welcoming, gave excellent recommendations! Highly recommend their Cheerwine Bourbon Slushie...great way to start your meal. We tried the Charlie Brown and here's my biggest tip....make sure you have at least 2-3 people to split it with you. The portion is HUGE!! Delicious and very filling. It's made with REAL turkey and not deli meat...another huge plus. We chose to eat inside as it was a chilly evening but they do have outdoor seating available. If you are in town for a Bengals game or traveling through do yourself a favor and stop here! Well worth it!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Southern Comfort Food
On a recent trip back to my home town of Covington, KY, Libby's Southern Comfort was recommended by several old friends. Parking is a challenge, and indoor seating is limited, but the food is worth it. We shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. My wife had a grilled chicken dish and I had a "Charlie Brown", which is their version of a Kentucky Hot Brown. Everything was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyA good meal
My wife had a salad with blackened chicken and she went home and looked up how to make that salad dressing because she loved. I had shrimp and grits with good flavor and portions. I had an old fashion for my beverage that was nicely done. Two meals in town and two thumbs up for Covington.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Southern Flair food!
Libby’s was a fun experience! We ended up eating at the bar. My husband and I shared the whole chicken with 4 sides. We enjoyed the black-eyes pea salad, French fries- which are a must, collards and green beans. All were wonderful. Our bartender was great too! We also had the hush puppies, were are a must also! Definitely recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyCan’t wait to go back!
We were visiting our daughter’s family and wanted to try a new restaurant. My daughter, knowing I love southern food, chose this place. It did not disappoint. The food was great. We had great service. Bloody Mary’s were as good as or better than my husband’s—according to him! Pimento fritters and goetta hush puppies were a hit! The fried chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly! So glad they were out of home fried because the French fries were some of the best I’ve ever had! Not your typical French fries! I can’t wait to go back next time we visit.
Be the first to ReplyNever again
This was our 2nd visit and this time the food was worse. If you're not going to get the fried chicken, which is outrageously priced, it is not worth the effort. The wait staff is rude, the food is not cooked properly and much of it looks like it has been reheated. Their Mac and cheese is very dry and burger can only be VERY well done. We payed over $40 for a basic lunch and the manager told us that spinach that is slimy in a salad is normal. I ended up with an upset stomach from the spinach salad. I have been eating these with warm dressing for over 40 years and never have I had to leave salad on the plate. Both of us left food on the plate this time and we will not go back.

The food was nothing special. We both thought that the green beans and Mac n’cheese were reheated and even the biscuit tasted reheated. Chicken was fine but my husbands burger was way over done and the waitress told us “no one cooks burgers to order any more”. When we and another table asked them to close the door between inside and outside seating the server said he couldn’t do that and then he did but kicked the door open the next time he went out. All in all a very strange visit.

We arrived on a Saturday without reservations to find all tables occupied but room at the bar. Sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by one of the bartenders. Ordered some food, turned out to be great by the way and noticed a deal for the "bourbon of the month" with a 7 oz. side beer for $9. New Riff (one of my personal favorites) was the choice of the month. No brainer. Two of us had that selection while a glass of wine went to the 3rd guest. All of us truly enjoyed our food, beverages and the wait staff. Would love to visit again. By the way, Libby's is part of northern Kentucky's Bline.com. This is for those that would like to have a bourbon trail experience without having to travel all over the state. Check it out.
Be the first to ReplyGo to Lilly’s! For Cheerwine Bourbon Slush, Fried Chicken and Goetta Hush Puppies!
Lilly’s is a gem and I am glad we found it. Would definitely return to cute Restaurant in Covington. Nice spot with indoor and covered outdoor dining. It was in the high 80’s outside but Still pleasant to dine, thanks to the giant fan. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Attentive. The Food. I would give some items A++ and would return for them. I have to say that we were disappointed in a few items. The true stars at Lilly are: The Cheerwine Bourbon Slush. WOW. That’s tasty. (Cheerwine is an southern soda pop) The Fried Chicken. My wife ordered more as she was eating! The Goetta Hush Puppies. A real surprise. (Goetta is a Cincinnati thing… sausage and oats blended) JuJu’s Deviled Eggs. Marvelous. The Chicken on a Biscuit. Huge. Delicious. Their Charlie Brown Hot Brown. Massive and yummy. Green Beans, Tossed Salad are very good. The Chocolate Chess Pie - WOW. A chocolate dream. Now… I’m a shrimp and grits fan. This was perhaps the worst shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. The Shrimp are blackened and mine tasted more burnt than blackened. Overcooked. The grits just didn’t taste good and were dry. The country ham biscuits… are trying too hard. Too many things going on with so many ingredients. Very little country ham. Simpler would be better here. There plenty of other excellent things to enjoy at Lilly’s, just order wisely. So GO and enjoy, but order the Stars!
Be the first to ReplyI love to introduce new people to Libby’s
Since we moved to Covington, I've been to Libby's twice, both for special occasion meals - one a dinner and one a brunch. I really love the atmosphere here and the staff is always great and super attentive. At both dinner and brunch, we started with deviled eggs and the hush puppies - both were excellent to split among our party. I finally tried the two piece fried chicken at dinner and enjoyed it very much - it's offered at special price on Tuesdays, so I'll need to take advantage of that one of these days. It comes with two sides and paired it with the white cheddar Mac and cheese and coleslaw for something green (haha). Other options include side salad, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, black eyed pea salad and French fries. At brunch I had the country-style eggs Benedict and they were as tasty as I remembered from two years ago. They feature two fried eggs, house smoked brisket, fried green tomato and tomato smoked hollandaise sauce served atop English muffins. With a generous dash of hot sauce on top (available at the table), I was good to go. Side options include house potatoes or fresh fruit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Gift Card
My brother-in-law generously gave my wife and I a Christmas gift card to Libby’s. Tonight we had a very nice dinner. This establishment is known for its fried chicken, and it not disappoint. The half chicken comes with two sides and was delicious. Their version of a hot brown was my wife’s choice. The portion was huge as well as tasty. We even had to bring home some of it. Return visit may come soon.

Four of us dined here tonight. Nicely appointed with a menu reflecting the name of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive although on a really hot summer evening she never offered to provide more water or ice. Everyone's dinner was good especially the Arctic Char. I had the fried oysters and all I could taste was the salt in the batter. I did ask the server to mention this to the kitchen. My side dishes of black eyed pea salad and mashed potatoes were excellent. So nice to see great things happening in The Cov.

Best collard greens I've had in years. The fried green tomatoes were the way they are supposed to be! And the chicken!! The Old Fashions were smooth and the waitress friendly. Who could ask for anything more? Can't wait to go back and try the duck!
Be the first to ReplyGreat southern food!
The service was great. The food was excellent. I had the avocado sandwich that was a little difficult to eat, but delicious. The French fries were amazing.
Be the first to ReplyDecent Food, Poor COVID Precautions
Was disappointed to see the kitchen staff not wearing masks, servers inside talking with their masks down, and our server wearing the mask below his nose when talking to us. The overall food was good, but nothing to die for.
Be the first to Reply5 plus stars! Perfect experience!!
5 plus stars! Perfect in every way!! I can’t say enough about the food. Started with the shrimp and grits... you. HAVE to try!! They are outstanding. Then the Michele salad which had pears and a sweet vinaigrette dressing- we added blackened chicken . Finished with the chefs chicken thighs. No salt or pepper needed on anything, every dish was spiced perfectly. They have a great outdoor patio and live music. Such a nice place on a Wednesday night. Try the peach mule and the the Spicy mule... so delicious!! Can’t wait to come back... almost forgot to mention the service!!! They were fabulous!!!!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful atmosphere and design.
Beautiful atmosphere and design. Split a whole fried chicken with my wife. It was good, but not extraordinary or unique. Green beans were special.
