Morton's The Steakhouse San Jose Reviews from The Last Year
The service was wonderful here and the food came quickly.
My margarita was really syrupy but my husband enjoyed his old fashioned. Both the wedge salad and the Caesar salad were good. Our main dishes were not great but they were ok. My husband had the New York strip and I had the sea bass. Our sides were the green beans (good) and the lobster Mac and cheese, which was ok. All in all it was a pretty good meal, although it was expensive. The portions are large and I would come back to try other dishes.

I had such a wonderful experience booking a private corporate event with Shawn Calhoun in April! I work in DC, but plan a number of events in various cities, so sometimes communicating with venues can be a challenge. But Shawn always got back to me quickly with details and answers to anything I needed. Not to mention our attendees had a lovely dinner experience from start to finish, and gave nothing but positive feedback! I hope to have the opportunity to work with Shawn again soon!

Great place for dinner! We went there to celebrate the completion of our construction project. Great way to celebrate!
After dining at a Morton's in Anaheim we couldn't wait to
After dining at a Morton's in Anaheim we couldn't wait to try out this 'local" to us location. Service was a little slow but ok, my wife ordered a filet cooked medium with a good char, I wanted to try the Cajun ribeye, I ordered it "rare plus" first time out it came medium well, simple put way over cooked for me, sent it back the next one came raw in the center, 3rd time out by this time I had lost my appetite, it wasn't much better. I should have just left it, I ask for a "to-go box" I brought it home & threw it away. We ordered a side of button mushrooms & spinach that were very bland, no seasoning whatsoever! Our bread was rock hard and crumbly on the outside so we ate the center waiting for my steak to be cooked 3 times! The waitress came back "after chatting with the table next to us" & wanted to by us dessert, at first we said no, she really wanted to "make it right" so I finally said ok. After a while we finally go it to go. It wasn't worth the wait. I feel like I threw $216.00 away. My wife's filet was good as was her drink. I wont be going back here. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this warranted one. An experience like this ruins the whole night out, supposed to be upscale & they charge enough they should put out a good meal every time. An off night or mistake is ok but this was unacceptable.

We had a pleasant dinner last weekend on Saturday night, the 27th of April. The food was very good. I started with the Caesar salad and my niece the French onion soup. For my entree I enjoyed a little surf and turf with a filet and a lobster tail. The others in my party shared the rack of lamb and the Chicken Christopher. We shared the au gratin potatoes. For dessert we were celebrating the confluence of three important events, so we shared a chocolate lava cake, the brûléed cheesecake, and the espresso pot de cream. Quality selection of wines by the glass. Service was attentive and friendly.

This was probably one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I have had ever I was only staying in San Jose one night I drove 2 1/2 hours to my hotel and just wanted a nice meal at a reputable spot and I'm sad to say that didnt happen and I was very disappointed and didn't even get the chance to try the main course. First off when I was sat down, I overheard the general manager covering this location, I believe his name is Rich, tell the server to not come and greet me because he was an assumption that I was meeting somebody there and sitting alone. when guests arrive the host does print out a ticket with the amount of people on the reservation my ticket was for one. I had to wave down my server 20-30 minutes later for her to greet me and ask am I still waiting for someone. after I put in my appetizer order and one Sandia margarita. I was recommended the dynamite oysters, and when I asked what was in them, I was told it was just oysters grilled with a Sriracha sauce, what I received were oysters baked stuffed with crab and way too salty to consume. I was chugging the water. and I had to send them back. the manager Rich asked me if I wanted anything in substitution, in which I asked for raw oysters. then a caprese salad was brought out, which was too bitter to finish. and after an hour of sitting i had to ask for my appetizer. i feel like if a course is being replaced it should come out in a timely manner and not an hour later by request. also, after the first raw oyster, I consumed, there were shells stuck to the meat of every oyster. I have included a picture below of the the three shell pieces i pulled out of my mouth after one oyster (i even used a fork).
We've been talking about having steak dinner in this place.
I've gone here for quick drinks and some apps. Drinks and apps during happy hour time aren't bad. I like that the vibe is pretty chill at the bar . As for the dinner, it was quite disappointing. Ordered lobster Mac n cheese- I like the mild spicyness but the texture was a bit off. Tomahawk steak was good but nothing exciting about it. The complimentary bread was good. The servers are awesome. Very accommodating and very nice.
Excellent food with a hefty price tag
The first thing you notice when you look at the menu is that this place is pricey. We started with a lobster bisque. Large chunks of lobster were laid out on a dish before they poured the soup in. It was delicious. I had the prime rib eye and my wife had the miso marinated sea bass. Both were excellent. Service was good. Ambience could be better as it was on the noisy side, probably due to the number of patrons present.

During my recent visit to a certain establishment, I was truly impressed by the exceptional service and top-notch quality. This place, which I highly recommend to anyone seeking an outstanding experience, is a rare gem deserving of a five-star review. Conveniently located near the convention center in San Jose, it was bustling when I arrived at 6 PM. However, the host managed to promptly seat my party and me, and our server greeted us with a smile. I ordered an old-fashioned cocktail. It was one of the best I had, and it wasn't short on whiskey. Folks with my party also had red wines, so they ordered carafes, and plenty of evening beverages were available. I ordered the filet mignon. It was one of the best steaks I've had. The food and service were outstanding at this location. Highest recommendation while in SJ.
Came for my birthday, food was good but drinks sucked.
For $37 a drink it should be f***ing perfect. Asked for a filthy martini literally got a regular martini, no olive juice. Asked them to remake it and got slightly more olive juice. It still looked clear. It's embarrassing to ask again to remake it. Like wtf you literally add olive juice and shake. Caviar stuffed olives are better separated though. Takes away the taste. Least I could get is a good tasting drink. Learning how to make a martini to dirty to filthy should be lesson 1 in bartending. I think our host made it though and he's probably not a bartender. Only ordered appetizers and left cause drinks sucked so bad. Taking my money elsewhere. If my drink is shit, I'm not sticking around.
This was my first time visiting Morton's.
I love visiting steak houses and I've been to many around the country. I was very excited to try this place and I made a reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The online reservation was easy and they followed up over email and text for confirmation. Service: very friendly hostess and we sat right away, we had a nice booth and the menus said "happy birthday" very nice touch. Our waiter was friendly and greeted us right away. Ambiance: dark, but I like it that way and the music was nice, Sinatra like, not very loud. Food: that's where I dropped 2 stars... we ordered a French onion soup and a Caesar Salad. His soup got to the table before my salad and I had to sit there and wait about 10 minutes for my salad. Then we ordered our steaks, a 12 oz medium and an 8oz medium rare. Two sauces, cognac and Morton's house steak, sauces are nothing special. They arrived fast, however, my 8 oz. Steak was medium well and his 12 oz steak was medium rare.... That was a huge mistake. Boyfriend decided to keep his but I sent mine back as I felt like I was chewing on sponge. I received my steak back and it was well done (charred) outside and rare inside, this time I just kept it, I didn't want to ruin the dinner with all this back and forward. Sides were Brussels sprouts and corn. They both were good. Dessert was bread pudding (courtesy for the birthday) and it was tasty but a bit cold. Drinks were whiskey sours with Woodford whiskey and they were delicious but a tad pricey, still worth it since they were very good. Check: as I was ready to pay I noticed that they charged me for my second steak (the re-do) and another sauce, we had to wait for the waiter about ten minutes to ask him to adjust the check. Parking: it's rough but doable. Verdict: I would come back for drinks and appetizers at the bar but definitely not for steak or a celebration.
Great NY steak
I had not dined at Morton’s in over a year and happy to report the meal exceeded my expectations. The highlight is definitely the steak - - tasty, tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was one of the best NY steaks I have had in some time. The service was also quite good - - available when needed, friendly and efficient. The ambiance is certainly refined and quite pleasant. Morton’s is expensive and the prices of things like the side dishes (potatoes, asparagus, etc) seemed quite high to me. The quality is excellent but you have to be prepared to pay the price. I highly recommend for a nice dinner and definitely for a special occasion.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
