Pho Kapahulu Honolulu Reviews from The Last Year
Felt like eating some soup after a gruesome hike.
The pho #12 was delicious along with shrimp rolls. Very reasonable price compared to waikiki prices. The service was really kind as well.

This restaurant is literally a hole in the wall where the owners family members and friends are hanging out while also serving affordable food. While the ambiance is authentic and the people are kind, but the pho was mediocre, not enough meat and not enough depth. The spring rolls were also pretty average. You can find better pho somewhere else, not here. Maybe order their rice dishes or whatever else from the menu.
Delicious probably some of the best Pho I've had.
The owner was very sweet and the food was amazing. Highly recommend, the atmosphere was very basic but exactly the whole in the wall you'd want in a Pho restaurant.
The soup is amazing, real broth and homemade.
I can't believe it took me this long to find it. I highly recommend! Owners are very sweet and nice.
I loooooved ripple of smiles.
so delish and fresh. i've been trying to find a new pho place that is even close to as good as them that delivers. this was not it. broth was not very flavorful. the vermicelli noodles with shrimp were just kinda weird and okay. hopefully i'll find a replacement someday!

So, I wanted to try this restaurant since yelp says they're open until 10, but the paper sign on the door says they close at 9pm. We sat down just before 8pm and enjoyed our food anyway but heads up for others looking for a late dinner! We parked at safeway and dined in, its a small hole in the wall type restaurant so not a ton of seating but no crowds on a weekday night. Looks pretty old from the faded sign but the inside is nice and clean. Service was also pretty good, the ladies working were nice and the food came out fairly quick, so we had plenty of time to eat. Thai tea was strong and just the right amount of sweetness. If thats how the drinks are, I'll come back just to try the coffee too. Spring rolls - I had them a long time ago and they were as tasty as I recall. They use a rice paper wrapper that's more crunchy than crispy and doesnt taste as oily as the eggroll wrappers. Delicious filling, nice and meaty. Side note--the lettuce wraps are cut so neatly too, its really convenient lol Papaya salad with tofu had a nice kick to it! Love the crunchy fried scallion on top. The springroll sauce didnt have any chili in it, so this balanced it out pretty well. I got lemongrass chicken vermicelli. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. With the sauce it was a little soupier than most places and also served warm instead of cold. Gf got the lemongrass beef rice, super tender marinated beef. She cleaned that plate. At the end we were stuffed and I had to get a takeout box for our leftovers. The prices are pretty reasonable too. We'll try the pho next time.
Its great.
A place you would never notice. Tucked away in a small spot just down the street from Safeway. Great home style Vietnamese chow at fair prices.
Pho Kapahulu is a small but great estalishment.
I usually order takeout and ordered their spring roll plate very impressed with the vegetables, noodles and spring rolls were fabulous. If you get a chance to eat there try it price is reasonable and the family that owns the place is soooo nice. Take care and good eats.
Obsessed.
5 stars. Will be coming back for more items on the menu also they banana rolls, yummy!
