Restaurant Poirier Bardenac Reviews from The Last Year
Like at grandma's
Very cool 'vintage' restaurant. We went there on a Saturday lunchtime, remember to make a reservation as the restaurant filled up very quickly. The waitress arrived with the soup tureen to serve us soup like at grandma's, then 2 starters, meat dish, salad, cheese platter, dessert, coffee or tea. A real moment of relaxation, no stress, unpretentious and delicious meal! We will return there for sure
Exceptional family meal
Family meal.. Very warm welcome.. Copious and tasty cuisine.. Professional and pleasant service.. unbeatable value for money... In short, nothing to complain about for this exceptional family moment
Unbeatable value for money
It's simple, family cooking, unpretentious but at this price these days it's a pleasure. A soup, 2 starters, a main course, cheese and salad, dessert, carafe of wine and coffee for 16 euros. Good “homemade” products, I could only put excellent in the category of simple restaurants. The owners are also very nice and we see that they go out of their way to please their customers. Take the opportunity to go around Lake Guinzengegard
Always so nice
We always enjoy coming back to this restaurant. A pleasant, hearty meal of the day with a more than reasonable quality/price ratio. Thank you for this good time spent
Wonderful Fresh Food, Well Presented by Charming Hostess.
Following recommendation from two Aubeterre residents we visited Chez Poirier as a group of seven. Unfortunately the day was hot and it was a little uncomfortable sitting outside under shade. Any other time it would have added to the atmosphere. This didn't deter our enjoyment of the long lunch of more than 2 hours. Each of us praised the fresh produce and excellence of presentation. Some dishes were more enjoyable than others but each complemented the following course. The time between the seven or so courses was well timed, allowing the preceding dish to settle while our party discussed future plans and made small talk. There were about 40 seated outside the day of our visit and the two staff were quite rushed ensuring delivery of different plates in different sequences to the ten or so tables. There were also some guests eating inside the restaurant away from the heat. Despite being so busy there was still time in the rush for smiles and a little conversation from our cheerful hostess and waitress. Overall this was an excellent afternoon with a very enjoyable meal at a great price of less than 16 euros a head. We plan to return later during our long stay as the dishes vary according to the fresh produce available.
From grandma's cooking to the assembly line?
Fairly decent price (26 euros) for an ordinary meal. Mandatory menu of the day: zucchini soup (too salty), tasteless melons and ordinary country ham, pike perch and a sauce (insignificant), roast mutton cooked in the oven and assortment (p-de-t, zucchini flan, mushrooms) , salad, cheeses (industrial!), pastries (industrial!). The food prepared on site is certainly fresh and well cooked, but without relief. Cheeses and pastries are not worth paying attention to! We expect better from an establishment claiming the title of restaurant. The service is just polite, slow, very long waits from one dish to the next. We do not offer you the opportunity to choose or taste the wine if you ask for something other than the local wine on the table! The rooms are noisy. Would this establishment's policy be to prefer the number of plates to the quality of service?
Great value
Great value 7 course Sunday lunch for €25 including wine and water Food is OK, but it's the atmosphere you go for. Busy Sunday lunch on the terrace, a few beers then lunch started. The lovely lady who is always there looked after us so well
