Thai Thai Villa Huntington Reviews from The Last Year
I wanted to like this place because the staff was very
I wanted to like this place because the staff was very friendly and seemed to really understand how to prepare a meal for vegans like my wife and I. When I explained that we are grossed-out by food that tastes like it has been cooked in a meaty wok or pan, I felt like they knew exactly what I was talking about. Unfortunately when our meals came out (five minutes apart from each other), I lost my trust. Although my wife's Pad Thai tasted "clean," mine tasted like it had been grilled on a barbecue with hamburgers and hot dogs. They had obviously been tossed in different woks, and mine was clearly still coated in grease from some type of meat dish. I'm never wrong about that. I was really hungry and not in the mood to make a big deal about anything, so I casually just asked the man who seemed to be the owner, "What gives this dish its 'smokey' flavor?" He was obviously caught off-guard because he started making up some nonsense about the wok being really hot and blah, blah, blah. I wish he had just told me the truth, because now I can never go back here again. Anyway, if you're vegan or vegetarian and the mere flavor of meat is enough to ruin your meal, this is not a place you can trust. Also, as many others have commented, the food does not taste like authentic Thai food at all. The Pad Thai was way too full of sugar and lacked even a hint of the coconut flavor that usually gives this dish its WOW factor. I am writing this because I really like the "vibe" of this place and I think the owner and staff try really hard to provide a good experience. If you're not vegetarian and have no special requirements for your meal, ThatThai Villa is probably worth trying, as many people seem to like it -- authentic, or not!
Tried this Thai spot in Huntington on a weekend drive out.
The food was ok as well as the Thai iced tea. No alcoholic beverages served & the portions were adequate for what was being served. Don't think I will be back though as it was just average.
I came in today for lunch and it was amazing! I recommend
I came in today for lunch and it was amazing! I recommend the crab ragoons, they're unreal and the iced coffee is really yummy too, it'a nice and sweet. The service was phenomenal our server was really sweet and attentive. We left some food because we were so full and the server made sure to ask if we liked everything because she saw what we left. She was so kind & considerate. The ambiance was chill, not too much going on it was relaxing. I definitely recommend this place, we'll be back soon!
I love this place.
The owners are very nice people. The food very authentic the service is exceptional. The decor is okay, but everything else just makes it that much better. I went there for lunch and I had the drunken noodles. I had it made a little more spicy and it was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend. I also had the curry puffs which were so good. Definitely a place. I would put on my rotation for lunch when in huntington village.

My fiance and I came here because of the reviews and are happy to say that it was amazing!!! We got the Duck Roti and Garlic Edamame for appetizers. The garlic edamame alone is worth coming back for. The flavor was so good. I could lick the bowl haha For our mains, we got the Shrimp Pad Kee Mao and Chicken Massaman Curry. Both dishes were so good and the flavors were great. There was more of a kick in the noodles than the curry but overall, good spice levels! Service was also excellent :)
Had a really yummy dinner here.
Staff was super nice and the restaurant was clean and steadily busy. We started off with matcha iced teas which were very good (unsweetened). For appetizer we had the duck roti which was really tasty---Duck was tender and the sauce with the roti was a really good combo. The Tom yum soup with chicken was legit the best Tom yum soup I've ever had. It was spicy and had so much flavor, and I can't wait to have it again. For dinner I saw pork pad see ew and my friend had the pineapple special. The pad see ew was delicious and my friend enjoyed her pineapple special. I had some and it was very spicy (but she requested it like that). The price was also SUPER reasonable, I think $66 or something before tip! I took beef pho home for the hubby and he also enjoyed it very much. Can't wait to come back!!
Not the best Thai I've ever had.
The soup was very bland and the tofu was not fried. Just raw hunks in the soup, so the texture wasn't all that great. It was very creamy and didn't have that brightness that is usually characteristic of thai cuisine. The chicken pad Thai wasn't very good. We had spring rolls as an app and they were the best part of the meal, well friend-nice and crispy!
That's right 5 stars.
Very fresh tasty and friendly service. They have lunch specials even on Saturday till 3 pm. . I had the chicken pad thai . So, so good and flavorful. It may be the best pad Thai I've had. Great portion.Thai iced tea outrageously delish. Edamame , spring rolls , gyoza all flavorful. The spring rolls were not greasy. Price is reasonable. Will absolutely go again.
Best Thai food on Long Island! Great proportion and great
Best Thai food on Long Island! Great proportion and great price. Also, very sweet employees - customer service was great.
Certainly a cozy little spot and very busy on a Saturday
Certainly a cozy little spot and very busy on a Saturday night. Even for takeout. Finding parking nearby was tedious but in time a spot opened up. The menu is relatively standard except for the seafood option for most dishes. While the menu is standard the flavors are not. Ordered red curry, drunken noodles and pineapple rice. Curry with chicken, pineapple rice with shrimp and drunken noodles with seafood. The seafood was surprising, shrimp, scallops, calamari and even mussels out of the shells. The vegetables in the dishes were crunchy and vibrant in color, expected sort of soft but was very pleasantly surprised. They ask you what heat level you want. Got 3 on all the dishes. That's 3 out of 5. Rice and noodles were very pleasantly spiced. The red curry was fiery and delicious. Next time getting that level 5. Curious to see just how hot they can make it! This is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner.
Overall a solid Thai place on Long Island, although may be
Overall a solid Thai place on Long Island, although may be best suited for takeout. Food: 4/5 had a decent pad kea mao with mock duck, but have had better. Would be a solid option for takeout though. Drinks: n/a although they have Thai iced tea, hot tea, and have a BYOB policy Ambience: 3/5 it's homey but not the most aesthetically pleasing space. Service: 4/5 it was quite busy when we were dining, so service wasn't the quickest
