Service was amazing!!! Can't wait to go back.

Be the first to ReplyI've been going to Tony's since they opened in the 90's.
I have so many great memories here with family, friends, co-workers that every time I hear the name or walk by I just have to smile. In between 63rd and 64th on Third Ave in the upper east side it's been a staple in the neighborhood for years. TBH... i'm not a fan of family style eating, but I always make an exception for the food here. This is true New York, authentic Italian food. It's your basic homemade red sauce with unmistakable flavors and served to you with warm hospitality. I've never had a bad meal here. Meatballs -are some of the best I've had. I make my own and grew up with a lot of Italian influence... and these are good. Veal and Chicken Parm are always my go to here. The sauce makes the dish. And it so tender. Baked clams are exceptional. No one in the city comes close. Portions are big, they're meant to be shared. Prices are so reasonable. Bring good friends, family, or both. Drink some wine, be prepared to have good food, good service and just a really nice time. I've been going to Tony's since they opened in the 90's. Be the first to ReplyWent with family and food was good and portion size was ok.
Atmosphere was nice and good for a family or date night. Staff was friendly and attentive during the visit. Would recommend and revisit.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered seafood with black linguine.
Half size was enough for two. Plus a salad half size to be shared. Absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, sauce is perfect. Waitress very considerate and helpful. Very quiet dining room near the entrance. Perfect!

Be the first to ReplyI used to like this place a lot but it's gone downhill.
Food just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes by. Sauce tastes like it comes straight from a jar

If you are looking for reservations for big groups, this is the place. I went with a group of 11, waiter was able to split bill into two from the beginning, easier to calculate at the end. Also they have family size serving portion. Tables are big enough so spread out; portions were good. Try their meatballs, sauce was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with a friend on a Sunday evening during the end
Came here with a friend on a Sunday evening during the end of January and was seated pretty quickly. Everyone was friendly, the place looked clean and the food came out pretty quick enough. For appetizers we ordered a Caesar salad and calamari fritti. For the main course we ordered spaghetti & meatballs and chicken francese with broccoli. In conclusion, the food was ok. I do love that they give out generous portions, it is budget friendly and everyone was nice but I wasn't wowed by the food.
Be the first to ReplyI had dinner last night at Tony's east side .
we started with the hot antipasto , moving along rigatoni with vodka sauce , then sliced steak with peppers . WOW . Tony's never disappoints

I have eaten here many times over the years and always enjoyed it. This visit the service gets low grades. Initially we were treated well, but after the main course, we were forgotten. Once the assistant server cleared the plates, our server did not return to offer a dessert menu or coffee. After seeing our waiter pass by us to neighboring tables, we waited at least 20 minutes for any type of service at all. The restaurant was not crowded, several empty tables around.I finally became so upset that I asked a busboy to have our check brought over. Nothing happened, so I walked to a take out order station nearby. I explained yo the female hostess that we wanted to leave and wanted our check. She showed no reaction and I returned to the table. After about 5 or 10 minutes, the waiter appeared with the check and asked if we were interested in dessert!!!After paying, i asked to speak to a manager, and was referred to a gentleman named Tony (i believe). I explained my concerns to the manager and his initial response was "I'm surprised, thats very unlike him" (meaning our waiter).that statement was very upsetting to me, and I responded by saying "well I certainly have no reason to make this up, do I?". At this point, I was basically walking out of the establishment and was not interested in speaking about it any further, after a response like that.As I walked away, the manager asked if there's anything he could do. What is shocking about a restaurant on this level (or any level) is the fact that no one seemed to notice that we were sitting for an extended amount of time with no check or dessert offerings. Our waiter passed by our table at least three or four times as we sat, waiting for any type of service after the main course.
Be the first to ReplySuper!!Best Italian restaurant ever.
Can't wait to go back! Great service, fantastic delicious food! Pleasant environment. You can tell that they care about their customers. Everything about this place is just right.
Be the first to ReplyVery basic Italian restaurant in the heart of midtown east
Very basic Italian restaurant in the heart of midtown east and other locations. Seemed like any other Italian restaurant so it did not really stand out. Although service was quick, prices were absurd. Relatively big portion sizes, but nothing unique about the dishes. Ordered Chicken Parm, however, did not taste authentic. Best dish would probably be the Chicken Marsala. Creamy sauce served over a variety of mushrooms and thinly sliced chicken breast.
Be the first to ReplyService was fantastic and lively atmosphere.
Large Italian menu and lots to chose from, I don't think you can go wrong with the menu. One of those places that's an experience vs just a dinner.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic it's a family Italian place .
I really like it . We had a great time . I'll probably eat there again in June when I return
Be the first to ReplyGood Italian restaurant.
Portions are family style and meant to be split, at least from my experience. No frills and good flavor. Good for a group. Overall good.
Be the first to ReplyWe were a big group for our friends bday.
The manager there really took care of us. I saw him really working hard to accommodate us. I admire that. The food was great. We had a bunch of stuff. The waiters were very attentive. Will like to go again with a smaller group

We have been customers at Tony Di Napoli's for a number of years. Mainly at the 43rd Street location. Last night my wife and I were in the area and decided to get a bite to eat at the East Side restaurant. We were walk-ins and were seated quickly. We placed our drink order and then ordered our food. We ordered the Rigatoni with Eggplant and Mozzarella as we have on so many occasions and we the Veal Saltimbocca. Our food arrived and my wife and I both placed the Rigatoni on our plates. On my second mouthful in to my Rigatoni, I bit down onto at first I thought was a misplaced mussel shell. I thought felt it was sharper and harder than that and tried to immediately get it out of my mouth without it cutting my mouth. I was able to clear my mouth and take out the object. It was just a piece of glass. We didn't cause a commotion. We quietly called our waiter over and showed him the glass. He did ask if I was okay and I said yes but I was actually taken back by what had happened. He offered to replace the dish, but we declined. The manager then came over and didn't really apologize but asked if I used the pepper grinder, which I had. I turned it over in front of him and it was intact. What was in my food was definitely glass. We attempted to try finish our meal but couldn't do it. During this time, a good 15 to 20 went by. Not our waiter or a bus person to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Actually we were going to have a glass of wine. My wife finally stopped a bus person and asked her for our waiter. He immediately came out of nowhere and we asked him to wrap our uneaten food. We then asked for a two cups of coffee. Our coffee came and we asked for the bill since I had lost my appetite. Upon receiving our bill, the restaurant took the Rigatoni off the bill, but we were charged for our coffee. I told the waiter half heartedly, "they couldn't have at least bought us a cup of coffee?"He immediately then offered to give us after dinner drinks and desserts. I felt bad for him and told him it wasn't up to him to do it. His manager should have made that call for him and I appreciated it but declined his offer. We paid our bill and I tipped our waiter more than 20% and in cash. As we were leaving I made sure that I walked directly towards where the manager was standing. He was speaking with two staff members. Evidently the discussion was earth changing because I stood there for two minutes completely ignored by three people. I then left. I never have left a review like this, especially about a restaurant my family has been going to for years. I could have caused a commotion, but instead was a gentleman because one, I was raised better and two, I have been in the business for a number of years. I have treated customers with far less complaints with far more respect.

Ordered catering, food was good but portions were smaller than other places. Delivery was fast, delivery guy was great with everything, he helped set up and was very discreet when guests arrived early. When I ordered I told the person how many guests I was expecting, I assumed they would have provided enough bread to accommodate that number, maybe a quarter of my guests were able to enjoy the delicious bread. Would I order again? Probably due to proximity, but I would be clearer in what I expect to be provided.
