Topaz Thai Authentic New York Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent food, quick service and good portion size!
Excellent food, quick service and good portion size! Definitely will recommend if you are in the area
Always wonderful Thai food.
But the really special things are the two duck dishes -- the duck is perfectly cooked. Cozy but comfortable and great service. This has been my go-to for decades before any performance at City Center or Carnegie Hall.
Came here for brunch for our first day here in NYC.
Wife was craving Thai food and walked into this place, probably since it looked busy (which is always good). Typical Thai appetizers were ordered and were really delicious. Could've ordered more but we were just starting our day. Great service as well!
This is a cute tucked away Thai place.
Very vibey, snug seating arrangement. Kind of looks like you're in the cabin of an old wooden ship. We had the Pad Thai with chicken and it was DELICIOUS! Will be going back.
Way overpriced for average, not at all authentic, Thai food.
The Tom yum soup had a questionable flavor.
Good taste, stingy rice portions
Good taste, stingy rice portions. The meals themselves are well sized but the rice portions are really small with no refills
Have been to Topaz multiple times over a course of decade
Have been to Topaz multiple times over a course of decade and it never disappoints. Ambiance has now turned little dated, it has always been a small restaurant with a cozy feeling so yes it can get crowded easily. Food is always top notch, fresh and delicious. No matter what you try it's always great. Service is prompt and attentive. This time around realized some of drink's prices are super inflated. Singha beer doesn't have price on menu but was charged $11. Also for 3 people dinner, automatic gratuity was added. This is more recent experience. For this reason 1 star taken off.
Cozy restaurant with small plates and small portions.
Food was adequate. It was seasoned well and came out quickly.
Great for lunch! Staff was a very cordial, accommodating
Great for lunch! Staff was a very cordial, accommodating and efficient team. Did a great job during crowded lunch time to keep things moving. Very cute, intimate feel with homey lights, decor and decorative plates and dishes. The only downside is that the tables are small, tight and close together but the food is really good and highly recommend the spring rolls!
Completely overrated placed.
Staff is pushy and want to order more food and drinks. Curry is incredibly salty so we had to order one extra rice. The rice was $5 which is fine but only half bowl!!!! You also have to sit back to back side by side with other people with little space. Just a horrible space for prob tourists only.
Great atmosphere, waitstaff was polite and offered great
Great atmosphere, waitstaff was polite and offered great menu advice. Green curry was amazing, drunken noodles were just as good! Make sure to get Thai ice cream for dessert! Everything we ordered was chefs kiss fantastic.
May I have some more please, sir?
Superb. Well executed dishes with very fresh ingredients. Lovely butโฆ.Portion sizes approach a fashionable minimum, and you canโt really make up for it by ordering more, since the place targets an expense account clientele. Three people will go home hungry if they spend anything less than $ 175.00,.
We visit when ever we are in town
We visit this place whenever we are in NYC. We love it. The food to just so tasty. We completely recommend this place the swimming duck and crying tiger are our favorites
Used to be better
Food presentation was good. The taste of the food only okay. Our guess was that Thai people arenโt preparing the food because there didnโt seem to be any feel for proper ratios of ingredients. The larb had too much sugar and fish sauce, and not enough heat or onion. Nothing authentic about it. The tiger cry was good, but again kind of sweet. We went here pre-Covid and remember it being much better back then.
